Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaGreat House for large group
Left on 08/09/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We had 15 in our group at 26 Surf Scoter and found it to be very comfortable. The location is a very short ( five minute max) walk to the beautiful beach. The bedrooms are ample ... the kitchen is well equipped ... and the porch is idea for evening gathering and fun time. Beach Properties does a great job of making sure your visit is comfortable.

Louisville, KYBest ever reunion!
Left on 05/09/2012 for a stay in April 2012
This was our 12th reunion, all in 12 different locations. We all agreed that we could keep coming back to this location for the next hundred years. It was outstanding in every sense of the word--just beyond our expectations. I am keeping this property in my file for future reference. I don't know how anyone could be disappointed!

PaFabulous House - Loved It!
Left on 09/03/2011 for a stay in August 2011
This is a great house for large groups. The outside deck was a perfect gathering point with plenty of seating for our group of 13.
The kitchen is gorgeous and well stocked. There is alot of storage space and we had more than enough room to hold our groceries. A second refrigerator would be nice, but we managed by keeping our drinks cold in coolers.
The bathrooms in the master bedrooms are very spacious and have large walk in closets. I would recommend that if you are a light sleeper or like to sleep late, take an upstairs bedroom. While the bedrooms are a distance from the living areas, voices and noises could be heard throughout the downstairs.
The pool area is a bit tight, but still had enough room for all. This area doesn't get alot of sun because of the trees, but was a welcome relief after time on the beach.
We stayed at the end of august and took advantage of the off-season rates and based on several ocean front houses we rented in past years, it was worth the price for the space and quality of the home.
Overall the house is in "new" condition and we would definately rent it again.Response from Beach Properties of Hilton Head - 09/16/2011

PennsylvaniaGreat house and location.
Left on 08/05/2011 for a stay in July 2011
This was a great house in Sea Pines. It is very close to the beach. We could easily walk back and forth to the beach throughout the day while carring rafts and chairs, etc. The house has a great pool and plenty of seating in the house and at the pool. The house was very clean when we arrived. Beach Properties had an easy check-in and were professional to work with.

This is a very nice house, with everything you will need. The pool is nice but the hot tub is extra. For a large family it is perfect but a little pricey, none the less, I would stay here again.

Woodstock, VAAwesome stay!
Left on 06/16/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We had a great, great experience at 26 Surf Scoter. The location was perfect! We received our keys in advance so check in and check out was super simple. The entire online search (through Vrbo) and coordination with Beach Properties was a breeze.
The only issue we had was the hot tub/pool. We were not told in advance that there would be an additonal charge of $250+ to use the hot tub. We found out by the note of the fridge and when I called the "off hours" help line on Sunday morning, we were informed that in addition to our rental fee, we'd have to pay $250+ to heat the hot tub. Had this been in our initial contract, at the time of making payment, it wouldn't have been an issue in terms of paying for the service. But since it was not explained and we thought everything had been paid for, to find out that we needed to pay anything additionally, let alone another $250, was very dissapointing. Hot tub aside, we also noticed that the lights in the pool were not working, so in the same conversation on the Sunday after our arrival, I asked that they send someone to fix them so we could enjoy the pool at night, but nothing was ever done to fix the lights. It wasn't a huge deal, it was just, again, dissappointing.
These small issues will not deter us from using Vrbo and Beach Properties again as our experience was really, very wonderful.
Thanks again! -

St. LouisWonderful Stay
Left on 05/12/2011 for a stay in June 2010
We stayed at this home in May 2010 with extended family. We loved the location and the layout. The pool, hottub and patio were great. Perfect for lots of outside family time. The walk to the beach is short and easy. Only problem we encountered was with heating the pool. It was addressed and repaired fairly quickly. We would definitely stay here again. This is a great rental for a mulit-family vacation.

PITTSBURGH , PALoved location and having a pool hated the bugs.
Left on 08/18/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Home location was great. Pool was nice. Have stayed in Hilton head many times and have never had the bug problem we had. This is just a rental house and not a home. Bathrooms in showers need areas for shampoo and soap. Kitchen counter was different. Wish you could pull up a stool. I would tell the builder that you do not need that many tubs showers are great. They could even put an enclosed outside shower and that would be wonderful. Sorry you asked me but the only other thing that was noticed. This house is very noisy.. Hard floor sends noises everywhere. Older children coming in at night the noise carries through the house. No answer for you on this because the limestone floor is great for a beach house. Toilets were dirty but we cleaned them. I know coming in at the end of the summer some places are not in as good shape as they were in the beginning. Problems were small, we had a great family vacation. Thank you

26 Surf Scoter
Chapel Hill, NCGreat Family House
Left on 07/14/2010 for a stay in July 2010
The house is very nicely laid out with a master bedroom and 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds downstairs. Upstairs is another 2 master bedrooms and 2 more single bed bedrooms. Every bedroom had it's own bathroom. The kitchen is very nice and besides lacking in some plastic containers to store leftovers in had enough cooking utensils to get by. They can use another refrigerator though. The house is big enough to sleep 16 people, but with one refrigerator it's not easy storing food for that many.
The pool & spa got afternoon sun and the kids really had a great time playing in it. There were lounge chairs and a small table & chairs down at the pool. The upstairs patio had a nice large table for outdoor dining.
The only thing wrong with this house is the bug problem. There were many huge roaches roaming around. After the exterminator came on the 3rd day we were there, we did find a lot of dead bugs, but there were still many more live ones. They really need to do something about that. With little kids playing & crawling on the floor, it's not very sanitary. I actually had to swat one off the couch one evening as it was crawling up towards one of the babies.
All in all, it's a very nice house and we had a great with with the kids and grandkids.Response from Beach Properties of Hilton Head - 07/14/2010

TNFabulous Comfortable Beach Home for Family Trip!
Left on 06/16/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We just traveled to this gorgeous home with extended family from across the country and this was the perfect home for all of us! With the bedrooms far enough apart from living areas, it was great for small children and privacy if you like. The glassed-in Carolina room was breathtaking, especially with the view of the pool. The proximity of the beach was also unmatched!

Gainseville, GA23 Surf Scoter
Left on 01/08/2010 for a stay in May 2009
This was our second time to stay at Surf Scoter so we like it a lot. The rental company was most helpful in reserving the house and providing us with enough useful information.
Plenty of room for a large group; lovely kitchen; good laundry facilities and computer access; the pool and hot tub are in a good place for people to watch from the back porch (although both times we had to call to get them working). Two dining tables serve a large group although sometimes the separation is not enjoyable. The sleeping room configurations worked well; the bath facilities were excellent and the game room was often utilized. The furnishings are commensurate with an upscale rental.
We liked the quiet location on a back street but it is a bit far from shops, especially the grocery.
We consider not being on the beach as acceptable, but carrying all our equipment down did get tiresome. We liked reserving the umbrellas and chairs each day or weekly.
It is not handicap accessible. When you have older family members, neither the front nor back steps is manageable. We had to carry our brother up and down. Fortunately, there are bedrooms on the first level. -

The facility was well furnished, properly cared for, and provided easy access to the shore, shops and dining areas. The kitchen and bath facilities were maintained well and made staying there carefree.
