      A Day at the Beach

Left on 07/24/2012 for a stay in July 2012

The house is really beautiful and matches the pictures on the website very well. The Vacation Company was very easy to work with and prompt with their email responses to my questions. Check-in was perfect with the keys made available to us by mail prior to the date of arrival.
I'm not sure how often the owners come back, but we noticed some things not working or on the edge of breaking. When I contacted the Vacation Company, they had someone come the same day, but it did seem like we were the ones reporting broken items that had previously been that way. It would be helpful if each renter reported any problems so the next group doesn't have that to deal with. Recycling was a disappointment. The information sheet said they pick-up two days a week and there is a separate container for recycled items. The previous group and ourselves included, faithfully put recycled items in the correct container but no recycling was ever picked-up. It was getting so loaded we had to put it all in the trash to get the area cleaned up. =(
The beach is gorgeous and easily accessed. Lots of fun sand toys and beach chairs in the garage to use as well. Overall, it was a great week that went by too quickly.

      On the Beach

Left on 07/17/2012 for a stay in July 2012

This house is on the beach! Charming courtyard and private beach walk are definite pluses. Pool area is fabulous and functional for coming off the beach in the late afternoon/early evening. House's interior has roomy bedrooms providing space and privacy for separate families. One recommendation would be for owners to update main living room upholstered furniture (showing wear and fading). Extra ice maker in kitchen a bonus. Extra living room on 2nd floor a bonus. Garbage men will not take garbage that does not fit in cans; became a problem with the overflow.

      Great pool/beach combo

Left on 07/03/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We stayed in 124 Nfbc with extended family: there were 4 kids and 6 adults. The house had room to spare in terms of bedrooms, bathrooms, and living space. The gourmet kitchen was a huge plus, as was the ability to move from the pool to the beach and back again whenever we liked. There were a few small misses: hardly any towel racks in the bathrooms, little shelf or drawer space for clothes in the bedrooms, not even salt and pepper in the kitchen, and a blown sound system, but otherwise it was a home run. The property manager was highly responsive, as was the rental company when we needed to use their office printer. We would consider renting this home again.

      Somewhat Disappointing

Left on 06/20/2012 for a stay in June 2012

The Vacation Company was First Class. All concerns were addressed quickly and professionally. Here are my complaints about the house.
Views: You cannot see the beach and ocean from the pool/yard area or the kitchen/living area. While you can see from the second floor living area, we were seldom up there. Also, no balcony to go to to relax and look at ocean.
Outside Shower: This was a joke. There was a leaky hose which you had to walk through mud and flowers to get to for turning it on or off. I felt like I was going to fall several times as I walked in the mud.

The sleeping facilities were adequate for our family. However, 2 of the beds were extremely high. I could barely get in the master bed each night. This is not meant for 65 year olds.

I would never stay in this house again.

      Great Week!

Left on 06/19/2012 for a stay in April 2012

This house is in a great location, close to everything yet set in a quiet place. The house is very roamy with two seperate living spaces so that the different age groups could seperate when they wanted. The kitchen is large and easy to make meals for large numbers at the same time. Only wish is that the living space on the second floor opened to an elevated deck but that is really over thinking our own wishes. The pool and hot tub were great and clean.

      North Forest Fun

Left on 07/12/2011 for a stay in July 2011

This house has a nice pool and most importantly steps from beach. Hot tub was largely not usable as it was too hot and overpowered with chemicals. It was improved during our stay was still too hot outside. 3 stories with all bedrooms very nice (one report of sagging mattress) and baths good too. Has elevator as a bonus. A/C went out on first floor first day but was replaced in a reasonable fashion by rental co. over 4th of July...fairly impressive. Refigerator could never quite keep things cold enough whole week ...had to ice down drinks in freezer and ice machine. This is almost last house down the beach from Coligny so it's a decent bike ride ...rental co. nicely offered 6 bikes which sealed the deal for me. Used grill almost every night. Two living areas both of which were used by 16 of us at one point...one TV watching and other playing cards, etc. Had to split up for eating at different locations but no big deal. Has a garage. Beach is nice in front of place and not nearly as crowded as many other we saw during our stay. 3rd story front bedrm too bright in am and need outdoor electrical outlet. Kids rated this vacation "one of the best".

Nice Beach house but stripped down

Left on 06/30/2011 for a stay in June 2011

I have stayed in Hilton Head in various homes on the beach for 6 years now. The house has a nice layout. There are several king beds but unfortunately not in the master bedroom. The bathrooms in the other bedrooms are quite small. When we arrived, the pool had a lot of sand in it. I think the reason is b/c there is no outdoor shower area (although the web says it does). When I called, I was told to use a hose laying on the ground, but you had to squeeze between bushes to turn it on (& step in sand!). Within a few days, the pool was turning colors. The pool guy said it was b/c there was so much sand in it (most from before we got there!). He cleared it up within a day, but it was still hard to keep the sand out even with trying to use the hose. The house does not have any beach chairs with it. This was disappointing as every house we've been to had a number of beach chairs in the garage. So, we had to go buy some. We were only left with 2 garbage bags for the week. Ridiculous considering how much we spent. Cups were very minimal and we had to keep doing dishes just to have cups. The garbage and recycling that were outside were overflowing when we arrived on Saturday. I think the garbage man came on Wed. The recycling guy never came. Overall, the house has a nice location on the beach & the pool is nice. It is relatively quiet and private, which is nice. We paid a very hefty price for this rental and I can say it was very stripped down with little additional amenities for guests. Out of my 6 years of staying in beach houses, this was definitely the most "bare bones" one I've been in. Most I have stayed in I would return to but I believe this is one I will cross off my list.
