We stayed in the house from July 30th to august 6th. We loved our family vacation in Hilton Head. The island itself and the activities of tennis, golf, beach, etc. were great.
The location of the house was absolutley great with it being right on the beach. We loved the convenience to just walk out when we wanted and leaving when we wanted. The layout and spaciousness of the house was nice as well. But, some of the areas regarding the house itslef could be improved. When we arrived in the home, the refrigerator door was slightly open and there was water all over the floor. What we fouund out later on in the week is the seal to the fridge was not holding the door tight enough and if not pushed close hard, would slowly open.
The house also was not appropriatley cleaned. When we walked in, we could smell mildew and/or damplness in the house. The bedroom on the main floor was the main culprit. Their is a rug in that bedroom that had the damp smell. Also, we found a pile of wet towels that were not removed from the floor in the closet in that bedroom. We were unable to use that room the entire week becasue no one could take the dampness smell. We also found a pair of dirty boxer shorts in that bathroom. When we went to cook, before we prepared, we wiped the island in the kitchen. When we did, the paper towel was completely black as if noone had cleaned it. The one guest bedroom's bathtub looked like it was rotting out and no one felt safe taking a shower there. The outside deck had a few spots where the wood was weak and felt it was going to break. The railing on the landing of the steps was loose and pulled right up(down) when my 5 year old grabbed it for support. The shower head outside did not work, we hosed down before we went back in the house from the beach to minimize any sand getting in. The garage door handles outside were broken off and the handle to the garden hose in front of the garage was also broken. -

I had great service from Island Getaway. Very good information and directions. The rental needed a few repairs (nothing major). The location was perfect for our family. We rented bikes for the week and had great access to the beach.
