Beautiful unit!!! We loved the updated kitchen and bathrooms, and the view was great of the pool and ocean. If I may offer suggestions, I would offer the following:
Keyless entry...having to keep track of a key at the beach is a nuisance on vacation. Second, new furniture for the deck would be appreciated...the main deck off of the family room needs a table where you can eat a meal. Finally, there was a huge blood stain on the master bedroom bedspread when we arrived. The cleaning staff should have seen this when they changed the sheets. -

The room was great for 2 teenage kids. They had their own beds and bath. Love being able to walk right out on the beach! This was not a very busy time of the year. The pool wasn't packed and we could always get a chair. The the kitchen saved us a ton on going out to eat!

This condo is in an excellent location within Palmetto Dunes with a great pool area and quick access to the beach. My young children enjoyed the kiddie pool and the families that were staying at the same time in the Villamare property were very nice. The rental had a great kitchen, wonderful bed rooms with very nice baths. The only negative I could find is that the soaker tub in the master bed room wasn't anchored down but I am sure that has been fixed.
Be sure to hit the General Store in Palmetto Dunes for any odds and ends you need rather than going out of the plantation.
My family booked the same unit for next year while we were there and can't wait to get back. -

To be fair, I should say that the week we were there was cold, cloudy and rainy except for 1 day. However, there were so many things that happened, it was just a big disappointment. We checked in on a Sunday after traveling all day. My kids were so excited to go swimming. One of the reasons we picked this place was of the indoor pool and heated outdoor pool. We couldn't check in until 4 and the indoor pool closed at 5. So, to make the best of it, they "swam" in the bathtub the first night...It was too cold to swim outside the next day, so they went to the indoor pool. The woman that worked there was so uptight and on edge, it ruined the experience for us. She fussed at our children for jumping in the pool and would not let them get close to the hot tub, even if we were with them.
The unit sleeps 8 people, so my cousin and her husband joined my husband and our 4 kids. But there are only 6 dining room chairs in this unit. So, someone had to eat on the couch in the living room (normally a no-no). The first morning, we tried to fold back in the pull out couch, and it was broken. We were without a couch (and essentially living room) for 3 days until a replacement could be found. The dryer door wouldn't stay shut, so we had to prop a box in front of it. They fixed that on Friday (the day before we left).
The week was getting warmer and we were excited it might be warm enough to use the heated outside pool but woke up one morning to the pool totally drained with no explanation. It was being refilled, but wasnt going to be filled/warmed until well after we had to leave.
We will stay at a hotel owned property next time, where things get taken care of promptly and the people you come in contact with are friendly. The rental company was fine, the unit itself was ok (other than couch and dryer) but we would never stay in the Villamare resort ever again. -

I though the room we stayed in need a little upgrade. The door with numbers instead of key, the one bed was broke down. We have stayed in that same room for several years, and it looks like it has had a lot of use.

The condo was spacious and comfortable. All the appliances were modern and functional. We had a good view of the pool and the ocean. The only negative was the lack of maid service and the skimping on daily necessities such as toilet paper, soap,coffee, etc. Charge a little more and provide some of the amenities people are used to at resorts.

The palmetto dunes area is beautiful. Perfect for bike rides, etc. We missed the convenience of staying in North Forest Beach but the area was very nice. The unit was older but had been updated. The carpet needed to be cleaned but other than that the unit was in pretty good shape. The furniture was a little worn and had some stains. The unit was very humid while we were there but I notified Hhrg and I am sure that will be resolved.

Enjoyed everything about the rental. Perfect location on Hilton Head Island. Condo amenities are well kept and up to date. Only drawback was some difficutly with the wireless internet service. Will definately stay here again.
