Check-in was good..house was ready on time. House was clean with comfy furniture. Laundry room OK...would have like better washer and dryer since there were six kids in the house and lots of laundry! Nice location at end of the street so few cars. Kids could safely ride their bikes and play outside.

The living room, dining room and kitchen area was well-decorated, comfortable and spacious. Two bedrooms on the main floor were rather small and one (of two) on the second floor was a little shabby, though large; its bathroom was very small. The other two bedrooms - one on the main floor, one on the second - were large and had very nice bathrooms. The den off the kitchen was very nice - as a den and an extra, small bedroom. Although the pool was wonderful (the grandchildren spent most of their time in it), the water was very cold because of the shaded back yard. Each of the kids had to get out of the pool several times because of "the shivers" - even in July.

We rented this property in May of 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pool and the hot tub were nice, and the house was beautifully decorated. We would have preferred a stand-alone hot-tub, but the one attached to the pool worked quite well. We had a couple of teenagers and four twenty-somethings, in addition to a middle-age mom, and there was plenty of room for all of us to enjoy. The beach was quite close and an easy walk. We have rented houses in Palmetto Dunes for many years, and really enjoy the area. It is quiet, but still convenient to everything that Hilton Head has to offer. The only problem we encountered was that the gas grill ran out of gas when we had invited friends over for a cookout. That made it a bit of a challenge to get the meal done on time. We would suggest that the propane tank be checked along with other things before guests check in. We would also have like to have TVs in all the bedrooms, but this was a very minor issue.
We would definitely recommend this house to families or groups who want privacy and space for everyone. -

I've rented homes through Island Getaways for the last 8 years and have always been satisfied with their properties and service. The properties are "as advertised and the staff is courteous and efficient." 189 Mooring Buoy is a beautiful home in excellent condition.
