22 Promontory is a great vacation house; only 2 of us so we did not need the 2 extra bedrooms but throughly enjoyed our stay. The house was exceptionally clean ( A big plus) and up to date with everything we needed. The pool was very nice but due to all the trees was not sunny enough for me but that didn't keep us from enjoying relaxing in the water.
The location was very nice and close enough to walk out to the beach. We stayed one week but could have stayed longer if we would have had the time. Hilton Head is a great vacation spot, lots of shopping, restaurants, beautiful beach and for us, a one day trip to get there. We'll be back!

Good time in Hilton Head

Hilton Head is great for families. Palmetto Dunes quite nice. Home was fair. Desperately needs remodeling. Nice kitchen and pool. Horrible grill and master bath. Carpeted master bath with glass block shower. Lots of bugs.
House was below average but Hilton Head was great!

The service from your company was fine. Unfortunately the home was not clean and needs some attention. I would not rent again and would not recommend to anyone. Hilton Head itself was quite enjoyable for our family and we will return next year but we will be more selective on our home choice.

This Property has seen better days. We stayed at 22 Promontory back in June, 2006 and it needed some work but was kept up a little better at that time. This time there was a lot of overgrowth in the back pool area. There were wasp nest, and the furniture was in need of a good cleaning. For the price you pay I don't think that's to much to ask. The window dressing had fallen down but was repaired promptly with one phone call. The carpet in the master bedroom needs to be replaced.
The people at Island Getaway seem to care and do take care of matters right away. with a little more attention to detail 22 promontory gets a 7 on a 1 to 10 scale.
Beautiful Home Great Location

Home is beautiful and well taken care of in a nice quiet cul-de-sac. Great location to George Fazio, Robert Trent Jones Golf Courses and little distance to Arthur Hills Course if like to golf. Great dinning was close by and so was access to a grocery store if needed. Beach access was a short walk as well.

Very pleasant and homey

We enjoyed the house, especially the very large family room plus kitchen. Master bedroom was huge, felt generous; two other bedrooms a bit small, felt stingy. Liked the many porches and multi-level patios/decks. We didn't use the pool - mid-Oct is warm, not hot. The beach was a 5 minute bicycle ride away - we loved both the beach and the bicycle riding. The adults and the kids loved exploring. Hilton Head was natural and comfortable, less crowded than we'd feared.
Beautiful home, needs a little TLC

22 Promontory is beautiful and Island Getaway staff nice but this lovely well laid out home needs some attention. We arrived to find the home had been sprayed for bugs and no follow-up cleaning..huge dead bugs on everything..( we were the first reservation in months so definitely extra care should/could have been taken ) a crew was sent promtly..because no one had been in..no a/c had been set and took about 7hrs to get comfortably cool....master bedroom shade was broken, maintenance rigged temporarily permanently closed but fell again so bright sunlight streamed in always...patio furniture rusted and broken in heaps unlike pictures...bikes in garage broken..no outdoor shower water at any time to rinse off beach sand, outdoor dining furniture layered in months of dirt/grime..advised full kitchen but someone needed to take inventory...very few pans and most were ruined, ceiling fans filthy with black dirt crawling down sides ..yet home is gorgeous and designed beautifully for 2 adult couples/privacy..appliances very nice and all worked well..the home is beautiful but had an air of neglect..in fairness to staff, after they cleaned up bugs, then jerry rigged shade, we stopped calling as other problems came to light..did not intend to spend the week complaining and hanging around in the home w/ our belongings while crews were in and out to fix the various problems.. but did give list upon check-out and received no follow-up. Will be using island getaway and a home at palmetto dunes again this year but will try a different one, unrelated to issues...had planned to stay somewhere new anyway to keep it exciting. Again, home is just gorgeous but needs TLC.
