Cullowhee, NCGood family vacation
Left on 09/06/2011 for a stay in August 2011
This property has a great pool and location. The house has a great layout but is getting a little dated mostly noticed in the bathrooms and kitchen. A little attention to those areas would up the value of the house, which is marginal compared to the rental price at present. Although we had multiple problems with the air conditioning, which had an affect on the quality of our vacation, I assume it was just our "luck" and not a recurring problem.

We've have stayed in Hilton Head approx. 8 times now and every year we have rented a different house. By far this house had the best and largest pool and for that reason we would return to the same property. The house is nice, but some furniture needs updating and chair and couch have tears. It would be nice if the living room had a bigger tv perhaps mounted above the fireplace. Stains in carpet as well. Otherwise clean and nice and large. Some door locks did not work which was a security concern. Palmetto Dunes is a wonderful location to be in as it is centrally located on the island and of course private. WE appreciated a call from Island Getaways telling us that the house was available prior to check in, as we were able to enjoy more of our first day on the island. Island Getaways may want to consider offering former renters a discount if they agree to rent the following year. That would be a great incentive to return to the same property. Overall a great experience and we will be returning in another year.

My family has vacationed often at Hilton Head since 1982. This is the fifth time I have rented a vacation property from Island Getaway and I have always good experiences. 56 Mooring Buoy's proximity to the beach and the large pool were awesome. We had three families staying with 7 children ranging in age from 11-15. We picked this rental because of the 6 twin beds, the pool, and the location. You have a very short walk to the uncrowded beach and you don't have to cross any streets. The pool is large enough for kids and adults to swim together without annoying each other. There was plenty of furniture around the pool too. The furniture in the family room was comfortable and there was plenty of seating for visiting. The kitchen layout was nice too. Some of the decorating was dated and there are a few small cosmetic scars from use around the house but we would probably rent this property again.

marylandGood house for families with lots of kids
Left on 01/27/2009 for a stay in June 2008
Large, comfortable and well appointed property with larger pool than most. Quick walk down shaded path to beach with two convenient outside showers so everyone can rinse off sand before entering pool or house. Very large gas grill easily handled meals for eleven. Only draw backs were noisy neighbors playing loud music by their pool all day. Even though I would highly recommend this property, we might not rent again only because the twin beds were too small for our 4 tall young men. We do better with houses that have two double beds or two queens in each bedroom. This house would be better for families with middle and high school age kids.

Left on 12/23/2008 for a stay in June 2008
We have stayed at 56 Mooring Buoy the first
week in June 2007 and 2008. It's a wonderful
home, very comfortable with a great location-
the beach path is right next to the house. It
takes about two minutes to get to the beach.
A great pool is also something the whole family
enjoys. We want to rent this property every
year. -

Bloomington InGreat Vacation Home for Large Family
Left on 12/17/2008 for a stay in August 2008
I rented this property the summer of 2008. The home is lovely and close to the beach. It provides pretty much everything you would need for a weeks' vacation. The pool at this property is a plus because it is a decent size for a large family.
The only fault we had with the home was that it was not very clean when we arrived. We called the rental company and they promptly sent someone out to finish cleaning it, but for what you pay to rent this home it should have been cleaned after the last occupants had vacated the property.
Having said this, the home is great for a family vacation. -

Lubbock, TXGreat Hilton Head Home
Left on 12/15/2008 for a stay in July 2008
This is a beautiful home, located steps from the beach. It was all it was advertised to be...and more. Big rooms, lots of space, great location. We have stayed on HHI for the past four summers...we are staying here again in 2009 (first time we have repeated...our family kept growing, needing more BR's). Worth the price!
