Just returned from a wonderful family vacation at 8 Whistling Swan. Everything was great. Had a quick issue with the refrigerator not cooling, and Island Getaways had someone right out. Wonderful place for a family vacation. The whole group had a great trip. Any group would enjoy a trip to this house.

Our family loved staying at 8 Wistling Swan on Hilton Head island. It was a bit pricey, but we had such a wonderful time. The beach access was good and the pool and house were great.

Everyone loved the house. It was a perfect location to the beach, stores etc... It was a perfect size for 12 people and two kids. The decore was great, we had a fun time.
My only issues were; we had troubles with the frig/frezzer. The frig would not get cold enough and the frezzer door would not shut all the way. You guys did have someone come out and look at it and they were able to fix the frig issue, but we were unable to use the frezzer for the rest of the weekend. The other issue we had was the hot tub/spa, it never really got all the way hot. Some did come out and look at it and was able to fix as much as they could over the holiday weekend.
My recommendation would be to have the house (any house before customer arrives/rents) looked over and checked out at least a day or two before the renter/consumer checks-in. If you can have the major items like frig, eletronics, pool/spa etc checked to make sure it's in working condition /working correctly. That way if you do have to have somethig fixed you have a buffer of a day or two before you guests arrive. This would really come in handy before a major holiday weekend when its hard to find workmen to come out and fix things.
Besides those two things we still ended up having fun. And I appreciate Island Getaway having people come out asap to look at and fix things so that is great. Other companies would have said it's to bad have to wait until the weekend is over.
We are looking at houses for this Labor Day weekend 2011 and your company and Hilton Head is on my list to consider. The selection of houses you have to rent from is great such a wide varity.

The staff at Island Getaway is wonderful to work with. They helped us find a great house for us to enjoy. The house was well stocked, open, and roomy. (It would be nice to have an extra fridge to store drinks in.) We certainly would stay in this house again. Thanks.

We had some issues with the house. A shower was slow to work when we got there on sat and leaked into the master cupboard on monday. a part needed to be ordered and This was not fixed when we left. A drip in the faucet in the half bath required us to turn off the cold water. We did work out a compromise with island rentals for the loss of the shower.
pool and hot tub great. Were told there is a care taker for this house and it seems this person needs to check more closely. Lock on back door hard to work.
It would have been nice to have a more detailed list and know where the instructions were on arrival.
Also the dryer vent really needs to be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner. You can see the colletion of lint in the dryer. this is a fire hazard
Overall it is a great house but there are some maintenance issues. thanks for asking mary ann kroger -

Island Getaways was a great company to work with and given the opportunity we would rent from them again. The home met all of our needs for space. The furnishings are beautiful. The location is convenient to amenities as well as to the beach. Though the home is only a few years old the major kitchen appliances need upgrades, inadequate for hosting 16 people on a daily basis. Kitchen cookware needs a thorough inventory. If we had an opportunity we would rent this home again, and it would be nice to have a discount as a repeat customer. The price is very high.

Island Getaway Rentals allowed my family to enjoy a week of fun and sun with no hassle. I appreciated the ability to receive keys to the rental property prior to our arrival. We were only feet from the ocean and the pool was incredible. The home was gorgeous and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. With two small children, this home was ideal. We never had to leave if we didn't want. Mornings were spent on the beach. Lunch back at the house, then kids went down for a nap. The men would go golfing and the girls would sit by the pool and relax. Eight adults and six children were very comfortable. We hope to return again soon. My only complaint was the lack of access to the outside restroom. I believe it was mentioned in the description of the home as a selling point, but then was not available for guests. It would have been handy with the kids in and out of the pool all day. Thanks for everything.

Our entire family enjoyed this house....it was furnished nicely, the kitchen and dining room were nice and large and accommodated our family well.....we also enjoyed the built in grill outside near the pool....the beds were comfortable too. It was just a few minutes walk to the beach. It's always good when we rent a house with lots of living space too so that we can be together when we want, or have some time apart as well. We have grown children and also grandchildren who enjoyed this vacation with us.

This house was absolutely gorgeous. It was a very spacious home, especially the bedrooms and bathrooms. We also really liked that it had a screened in porch in the back. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in this house in the Fall, with three other adult couples, all recent empty nesters. It was absolutely perfect!! Located in Sea Pines, a little more upscale than the rest of the island, proved to be the nicest area on the island. This home had every amenity imaginable. All the appliances were high end, Viking gas stove, a wine chiller, butler's pantry and everything was in working order. Plasma screen T.V.s in the great room and several of the bedrooms. Cookware was of gourmet quality. The furnishings and accessories were designer decorated.
The master suites were to die for. Very elegant. The ultimate shower!!! Rain Head, and six spiget shower heads pulsating all over your back, ect. Two person shower and two person temperature controls. One could simple spend much of their vacation going from the luxury jacuzzi to the septacular shower. But there is a beach to enjoy. Being just near the pathway, the walk is less than one minute. The Bike path is right outside your door. The pathways in Sea Pines are much nicer!! The outdoor patio and pool area was beautiful!! Built in gas grill and granite table! The pool is nice and the Hot Tub on the cool Fall evening even nicer. Lots of pines trees around ( the ones with the big fat pine cones, don't take them home with you they belong to the island) add to the experience, they smeel heavenly. Picture this, A cool evening, a glass of red wine, you immersed in a spa, steam rising, tranquil music filling the air, the scent of fresh pine
the and the company of good friends after a delicious meal prepared by your own chef. (One of our party members is a chef, he does not come with the home rental! He belongs to us!)
This house was perfect for us, the bedrooms were on three floors, allowing for some privacy.
Bikes were dilivered to the home, we rode every day, even on the beach. We enjoyed the various restaurants, The Jazz Club and the Island Winery. We took the Foody Tour in Savannah. -

We have been coming to HHI for several years on Mother's Day weekend. This house surpassed all of our expectations. It is a very short walk to the beach and the pool is private and well shaded. The house is decorated very tastefully and the layout is very comfortable and easy for a vacation. We also want to comment on how easy Island Gateway realty was to work. They were really on the ball! We plan to stay here again and again.
