... opt for a different property. This was our first trip to Hilton Head and we enjoyed it immensely. Palmetto Dunes and the views from 311 Barrington were stunning. The pool area is very small but we spent most of our time at the beach anyway, which is a quick walk from the garage of the property over nice walkways with convenient shower spots. Notes to anyone considering any unit in Barrington - (a) the complex allows animals, which we weren't aware of, meaning there is frequent barking that echoes through the main corridors and can be heard clearly in the units and (b) the pool and hot tub have a bar-type area that several larger parties seem to take over in the evenings - if you are on the ocean-side of the complex, this means firecrackers, shouting and partying until close to midnight.
With regard to the unit itself, we've rented properties for years in the Outerbanks and have never had to clean upon entering a rental. Trash still in wastebaskets, pans put away covered in grease and (gag) hair, grounds still in coffee maker, and master bedroom needed vacuuming. If you'll notice in the pictures, there is a glass-top dining room table - pretty, but the large supports underneath make it virtually impossible to eat at without stubbing toes! Not quite sure who thought that was a good idea. Other than that, it was nicely decorated, comfortable and well-equipped for our stay. The master shower is wonderful! Check-in and check-out with Island Getaways was very quick and easy and the office was close to the property. -

Loveland, OH 45140Unit 311 was nice, but with problems

We sent a e-mail problem report on Monday, ,June 29, stating that the twin
bedroom carpet was dirty and had many spots; and that there were numerous
bugs (roaches) in unit 311. A person was sent to spay areas of unit 311, but
bugs persisted during the week stay. The bugs and the spraying was a
concern to us for the two small children.
All of these problems were noted on the evaluation form upon checkout.
The unit has a nice view of the pool area and the ocean.
We would not stay or recommend unit 311 for a future family vacation.

Beautiful property with convenient parking and easy walk to the beach. The decor in this particular unit is a bit dated and could use an upgrade. I would stay here again but would prefer other units in this complex.

We felt very fortunate, on our first trip the Hilton Head, to stay at 311 Barrington Court. The condo was very comfortable and well kept. The grounds and the pool were enjoyed by our boys (12 and 10) every day. The balcony provided beautiful views and a peaceful escape for reading for my wife and me. The uncrowded beach was just a short walk from the condo and was very relaxing.

We have stayed at many Island Getaway units on HIlton Head for many years - around 10 years. We have loved them all. In the past we have stayed at Windsor Court - which is a great building in a great location. We loved Barrington Court because of its location - further back and the beautiful landscaping in the courtyard. This unit was outstanding - great tropical decorations done with typical Hilton Head class and a pefect view of the ocean. When we return next year - it will be to this same unit !

Our family really enjoyed staying in this unit for our vacation. It offers easy access to both the community pool as well as the ocean. The balcony was big enough for a family of four to gather for lunch and dinner and the views were terrific.
