Columbus, OhioExcellent Labor Day weekend with family and friends!
Left on 09/18/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We rented the Lodge on the Lake for a 3 night long weekend Labor Day getaway. We loved the on-site lake! It provided hours upon hours of recreation everyday to our teenage son and his few friends we let him bring! They also played ping pong and basketball a lot! We enjoyed daily walks around the large property. I think it's well over 100 acres! It is very scenic, relaxing and peaceful! We only decided to leave one time during our whole stay! That was to go hike Cantwell Cliffs and kayaking in the Hocking River. Otherwise, there was so many fun family friendly things to do on-site, we stayed there the rest of the time!
What an awesome place to spend quality time with family! The lodge had so much character and we really enjoyed looking at the "before" pictures! It's amazing how much thought went into building this retreat! We'll be back for sure!
Thanks! -

North CarolinaGathering for OU Graduation
Left on 07/11/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Best features of this property - dog friendly and private pond! Our large group of family, friends, and dogs had a great time swimming, boating, and fishing. The two charcoal grills on the deck made it easy to cook for such a large group. Also, the location is great for getting to Hocking Hills attractions as well as athens and OU. The kitchen is well stocked, but a little short on cutlery. The property manager was easy to get a hold of through email and by phone, but it will be virtually impossible to do that during your stay because the cabin gets almost no cell phone service and does not have internet access. I found the check out procedures to be somewhat vague (towels were supposed to go in "designated area,” but we could not find such an area, so we just left them in the laundry room hoping that would be ok). Also, while the lodge does sleep 14 (only 12 spots in beds though), there are only 2 bedrooms where only 4 people can sleep in privacy. The bedrooms are right off of the main living area, so even though they are private rooms, the occupants aren't sheltered from much of the noise. The remaining occupants all sleep in an open loft. Overall, we had a fantastic weekend, but we thought the price was a little too steep in light of the sleeping arrangements.

Thanks for choosing 4 Seasons Hideaways! Lodge on the Lake does have a land line for guest convenience in making local calls due to the lack of cell phone coverage in the Hocking Hills. On our booking website at www.4seasonshideaways.com, we provide over 40 pictures and a YouTube video of each of our lodges so guests are able to get a good feel for the lodge they're staying in.
