Our recent trip to Bourbon Ridge Lodge was the best family vacation experience we have had! The Lodge was more than what we even expected, the website was great but the actual Lodge and grounds are magnificent, definitely better in person, you must see this location to truly enjoy it! In addition to the property, is an above and beyond Management team. Always available for any questions we had, provided directions to local activities and even helped us one evening with the Firebrick Oven to ensure our experience was the best!! Thank you Bourbon Ridge Lodge for the incredible hospitality and property to enjoy, we will be back to see you soon!

We rented the Bourbon Ridge Lodge for a three-day celebration of my in-laws' 50th wedding anniversary. Our guests ranged in age from 79 years to 14 months, and every single one of us absolutely loved it! We have rented a number of homes for large family gatherings over the years, and they seldom exceed expectations. Bourbon Ridge Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. The home is very large, extremely clean, and unusually well-equipped. The pool, hot tub, and media and game rooms were even better than advertised. There is a large area for outdoor games, a fire pit with stone seating for evening s'more-making, and the view is quite beautiful. Matt, the property manager, is very friendly and made sure we had everything we could possibly need or want. We will definitely stay here again.

In choosing a place to stay for our very first entire Family Vacation (including extended relatives), this was the perfect location. The online pictures do not come close to the beauty of this property. We were greeted by Matt with smiles and open arms. He was so helpful and even helped us to unload all of our cars. Everyone was easily accommodated, from a 17 month old baby to kids to preteens to adults and to our 84 year old grandmother who has trouble moving around. Everyone enjoyed the stay. The atmosphere was nice and the place was immaculate. I don't think there is anything Bourbon Ridge Lodge didn't have available to us for use. They even had baby gates to block the stairway entrances. The landscaping was beautiful, the pool, hot tub, grill pavilion, firebrick oven, fire pit, theatre room and pool table were all utilized during our stay, as our family wanted to enjoy all that came with the property. And that we did! I would strongly recommend staying here for a family that wants to be treated like they are truly cared about. Matt even helped us out with using the firebrick oven to do our pizzas and was always available when we called, even at midnight! Bourbon Ridge Lodge will absolutley be seeing our family again in 2015! As we plan on making this our Smith family vacation spot from now on! All I could say when pulling up to the property was, "wow"! My family is still talking about it and will be until our next visit. I recently stayed at the lodge with my family. It is absolutely gorgeous. The pics posted do not do it justice. The pics are good but in person it is amazing!
It is beautifully decorated and huge. The landscaping is well done. The beds and bedding are very high quality and comfortable. The theater/game room area is great. While the kids watch a movie, the adults can play pool and/or cards and still be close to the kiddos.
The pool/hot tub area is equally amazing. The pool is a perfect size and the hot tub is very large. My kids loved the pool at night when it was lit up.
They have thought of everything for families, even down to baby gates and high chairs. The furnishings and fixtures are very upscale as well.
The view outside was beautiful. It felt as if you were not even in Ohio. Be sure to catch the sunset if you can.
The owners are doing an amazing job with this property and were very easy to deal with. Always ready to help and with a smile on their face. I would definitely stay again and would highly recommend this place. -

We had a large group of people staying and Bourbon Ridge Lodge for a long weekend of golf and activities. The lodge is even more impressive in person with a great view of the hills. The basement was great for entertaining and outside patio is great for cooking out and swimming. Matt from Hocking Hills Mgmt was very helpful and communicated very effectively throughout the booking and our stay. We will definitly be back next summer!

We took our 15 member leadership team to Bourbon Ridge for our annual planning retreat. It was an ideal venue. The kitchen was very well equipped. We held meetings in the large and comfortable living room. The home theater in the basement was very impressive. We relaxed around the fire pit each night. We had a little free time and several of us enjoyed finishing in nearby ponds. We took advantage of the wood burning pizza oven. While the lodge and property was outstanding, what really made the difference compared to previous venues was the attention we received from the property manager, Matt. Starting with the thorough check-in, Matt took care of everything we needed. He helped us with the preparation of the pizza oven and helped us cook them. He also served as a fishing guide in the nearby ponds. We will be making the most important endorsement when we book Bourbon Ridge for our 2014 Leadership Team Retreat. We can't wait to come back.

My husband and I were married at Bourbon Ridge Lodge in early March. We had a small, beautiful wedding. The managers Matt and Chrissy were a joy to work with. They recommended a great caterer. She did a super job! The food was delicious!! My uncle was suppose to marry us but at the last minute he had a family emergency. Four hours before our wedding I contacted Chrissy in an absolute panic. She gave me some options, the best one of all... Matt. Matt is licensed to perform weddings. What a great job he did with almost no notice. We were thrilled and relieved beyond belief. The huge stone fireplace provided the perfect backdrop for our wedding. The lodge was perfect, all of our guests stayed over on Saturday night, we had a wonderful time celebrating our special day. Bourbon Ridge was clean, cozy and comfortable! We felt right at home. We can't wait to return again when the weather is warmer to enjoy the pool and the beautiful grounds. Thanks again Matt and Chrissy, the service you provided was second to none, you saved the day and provided the perfect setting for our most special day!! We will see you soon!!

We stayed on a beautiful fall weekend - the weather was still warm enough to make good use of the pool and outdoor amenities. The lodge was impeccably cleaned and outfitted with everything that we needed to relax and enjoy football and friends. The theater room was an awesome place to watch the games, and we had a lot of fun playing cards and pool afterwards in the game room. Our entire group of friends had more than enough space.
We would not hesitate to highly recommend the lodge to anyone and everyone. We plan on making an annual outing with our friends! Thanks so much to the friendly management! -

We have a large family and finding a high quality getaway has always been difficult. Our search has ended with this fine home. From pulling up the driveway, walking in the front door, and checking out the pool and massive hot tub it was clear we had found a place we could enjoy for many years! Everything is top notch, from the huge kitchen table to the fantastic theater for movies and ball games. A gorgeous view in all directions, the sunset was spectacular!

Had an awesome stay at the Bourbon Ridge retreat. Beautiful home with lots of eye appeal. Great way to spend good times with great friends. The location is superb, up on a hill to allow for great scenery and tucked back off of main road for plenty of privacy!! The house itself was beautiful and all the extras it has to offer, couldn't ask for more. The hot tub was one of a kind!

Finally! A lodge that exceeded our expectations. Our family has pretty high standards and to try and talk everyone in to heading out to the middle of no where was a challenge. Once we found Bourbon Ridge, they were easily persuaded. You always fear that your vacation rental might not be as nice as a website might depict it to be. Not the case here. It exceeded all expectations! The management was very professional and stopped by daily to check the pool and hot tub chemicals and provided us with insight about the area attractions. They were eager to assist in anyway possible. The views= incredible, no joke. Cleanest establishbobament we have ever stayed in. We were all able to sit at the massive table for dinners together and watched family movies on the 14 ft theater screen,wow! We have booked our dates for 2014 as this place seems to book up a year in advance. Next time we will be doing all cooking in the firebrick oven. Can't wait to see all the new stone additions the managers were describing to us. We highly recommend this lodge to families looking to re connect. We received our entire deposit back with in 3 days of checking out. We will be back!

We had been looking for a cabin big enough to accommodate my family and close friends. We were referred to bourbon ridge lodge by some friends who got married there. They were more than thrilled with how it turned out and the pictures were beautiful! Upon arrival I realized that the pictures I had seen didn't really do it justice, privacy privacy privacy! You feel like the only person on earth when your there, the views are breathtaking. The sunset was everyone's favorite without doubt. Everything was high quality and the kids along with the adults enjoyed the pool as well as the enormous hot tub. We all agreed that we will definitely return for another stay.

We stayed at the Lodge with a large group of friends & family for a late summer football weekend, and upon walking through the door my wife and I were extremely impressed with how nice the place was! We spent the first half hour or so touring the different rooms and couldn't believe the extended list of amenities that the lodge has to offer. The owners truly thought of everything here. The spacious bedrooms & private baths are especially good for larger groups. The beautiful pool was so refreshing in the heat, and lots of fun for all of the kids to play in too. With the slate pool table & professional quality card table the fun didn't have to stop once we moved indoors, and when the sun went down it was back outside for a relaxing soak in the hot tub, while enjoyng an expansive view of the night sky that you just can't get in the city. For our particular visit though, the best part was by far the theater room. The leather recliners & giant screen provided the best Buckeye-watching experience I have ever seen, short of being at the game. On second thought, I may actually prefer watching football at Bourbon Ridge Lodge over being at the stadium! After all, you can't take a halftime swim at the Horseshoe!!! Our family definitely gives Bourbon Ridge Lodge five stars, and we will be going back as often as we can!

First off management is amazing very nice & friendly. Then to the lodge it is so beautiful words can't explain it! During the summer the pool was amazing and hot tub later for relaxing! Not to mention the breath taking sunset you have from the ridge! It's a nice getaway from the city! Very relaxing! Will be back to stay again!

Bourbon Ridge Lodge was the perfect get-away for our family! The lodge has wonderful amenities such as one of the largest in-ground hot tubs we have ever seen, movie theater room, dining room table large enough for all of us to sit together and the breathtaking views to top it all off!! We are already planning our next visit to take advantage of the swimming pool(which was closed for the winter season) and fire brick oven (which was a new amenity that was not open yet during our stay). Best lodge, hands down!! We will be repeat guests for years to come!

Bourbon Ridge was perfect for our group of 20+ friends. The lodge sat on a secluded hilltop with beautiful views of the surrounding hills. The backyard had a great swimming pool area with plenty of patio space and a large area for sitting around the fire and the theater room was perfect for everyone who preferred to lounge in recliners and watch football. There was more than enough room for our large group. Everything looked clean and brand new and it was obvious that no expense was spared when the place was built.

I recently stayed at Bourbon Ridge and I must say, the place is absolutely gorgeous. The great room is large, and incredibly comfortable, the kitchen is spacious, and the appliances are big enough for me to cook and store all the food I could possibly cook and eat, which I love to do. My favorite part was definitely the downstairs entertainment room. I referred to it as a man cave, with the leather seats, poker table, pool table, not to mention the High Def Satellite and the PS3. Outside the place was just as fun and enjoyable. The giant hot tub was clean and absolutely relaxing, had a nice view of everything around, just a beautiful place. The fire pit is a great place to get together, roast some marshmallows, and look at the beautiful night sky. The beds are huge, and comfortable. The entire place is obviously well taken care of, with incredible attention to detail that just makes the place very inviting. The staff were very pleasant, and very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. Scheduling my stay was simple, and quick. The place was easy to find, and only an hour away from where I live, but I would most definitely live there if I could! First class, 10 out of 10 no doubt about it.

This was the perfect weekend getaway for our group of friends. The theatre was perfect for college football and the pool and outdoor areas kept the kids busy. The owner of the property is extremely anal! He will take money out of your deposit for outrageous reasons. He has beige wooden steps inside the house that he expects to stay untouched, I think he forgot that his lodge is in the middle of the woods with dirt. Also, make sure you do not walk in the yard if you leave a print he will charge you for "yard repair."
He even stopped by the house during our stay, to check in on us. We are adults not college kids. After our stay he wrote a distasteful letter outlining the additional charges, in a sense calling us privileged unthankful people.

We never want to charge or withhold a groups security deposit for any reason but in some cases, like yours, we are left with no choice. The lodge was left in deplorable condition after your weekend stay. You did physical damage to our property including driving vehicles in our yards(tearing it up) along with several other major infractions that are outlined during the check in process, in our rental contract and on our website. I want to be very clear, we have NEVER charged anyone for "walking on our grass or steps" and do not take withholding a portion of a security deposit lightly. We work extremely hard to have the lodge and all of its amenities in pristine condition for every group that stays with us and that requires the help and respect from the current group staying for us to be able to accomplish that high standard. We are the areas #1 family friendly luxury lodge because of the way we clean and maintain our facility and when groups like yours disrespect or destroy it beyond repair in the small window (5 hrs) we have to prepare it for the next incoming guests, we have no choice but to pass the cost of the damages and excess cleaning along to those who did the destruction. We want nothing more than for our guests to treat our property like it was your own while fully enjoying your time with friends and family. By doing so you will receive your entire security deposit back and you receive a 10% discount on your next future stay. Its a shame that anyone would treat another persons property with the level of disrespect your group treated our property with. I hope that you can reflect on what actually took place during your stay and going forward you will treat others property with the utmost respect.

Bourbon Ridge Lodge is absolutely beautiful. Nestled in the hills of Ohio, this is the perfect get-a-way to relax and unwind. The owners got this one right. All first class amenities right down to the kitchen appliances. My family loved the grounds, especially the oversized Jacuzzi, the amazing pool and the open space to play touch football or throw some yard darts. Every night it was dinner by the pool and lunch by the barbeque. The beds are very comfortable, the house very clean and beautifully decorated. We just loved our stay. When time permits, we will be going back! We can't wait to try the new pizza oven.

We were looking for a place to get away for a long weekend with our extended families (20+ people). The place was very spacious, comfortable and incredibly decorated. The backyard area was great for grilling and the full size theater room was a very pleasant surprise. We will be back. -

Bourbon Ridge is a private, secluded getaway with top-notch amenities and something for everyone. The lodge is stunning and the theater room and game room entertained for hours when we weren't in the pool and hot tub. Every detail and amenity was considered when preparing for our visit. Kudos to Matt and Chrissy who were phenomenal hosts! We have already made reservations for this summer. We can't wait!

Stayed at Bourbon Ridge Lodge with a group of 8. It is a beautiful house with every amenity possible. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in! It has a feather mattress cover and super thick comforter. There are a pool table and large card table in the basement with the theater room. The kitchen is great and has everything you could need. Since it was winter, we couldn't use the pool, but it was huge for a single house. The hot tub is very large with beautiful night time lighting. The outdoor patio is very large and has a table that seats 8. The dining room table is massive and incredible. There is even a small separate ice maker. All linens were top of the line - both beautiful and comfortable. Plenty of towels for everyone! The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of glasses, plates, silverware, utensils, pots, pans, even a crock pot.
Ventured to the caves for a short (February) hike. Very nice place!!

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with the folks at Bourbon Ridge or the accomodations. We scheduled a large group for a late fall get away. Scheduling was a breeze, and everyone we worked with was very nice and knowlegeable about the area. Upon arrival, we were blown away with the amazing views from every window, the attention to details in the lodge that made everything seem so relaxing--like home away from home and the ammenities--wow!!..the gathering areas are gorgeously decorated with a cozy cabin feel--the rooms & beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was large enough for several of our ladies to cook at the same time & had everything we needed. The kids loved the pool & night swims under the stars before bed, were a big hit with the cool lights of the pool..getting them into the bunks after a long day of yard games & hikes and then the pool was easy!!..then the adults spent many a relaxing evening under the stars hanging around the fire pit, playing cards on the patio or relaxing in the hot tub!!..even afternoon cat naps in the butter soft leather media room chairs were fabulous!!...The media room was a huge hit for our guys to escape--wet bar, pool, poker & leather recliners??--a complete man cave!!! Having a washer & dryer on hand was great and everything was spotless when we arrived. Our get away to Bourbon Ridge from start to finish, definitely knocked our socks off..We cant wait to return & are already planning our return trip for next fall!! Fabulous trip and money well spent!!!

The lodge was quiet and very relaxing. The interior is exceptionally decorated and well maintained. We had everything we needed to make our stay very enjoyable. We will definitely be staying here again during warmer weather to enjoy the outdoor activities, like the pool and outdoor cooking area. Every aspect of this lodge exceeded our expectations.
