Hi all , Just want to tel you about our great experiance at the Warthog Rest Private Lodge , We had experianced of a life time ! we sat in the rock pool on a hot summers night and heard all the calls form nature from jackal to night owls and in the far we heard lions roar! this is a absolute must when traveling to hoedspruit !! We hope we could get time to go back there in 2011. We have done daytrips from the lodge to the Kruger Nasional Park and to moholoholo rehap centre witch was great fun. The thing we liked the least was that the day of departure came and nobody wanted to leave the lodge !!

Dear Warthog Rest,
Just to say we had a very good time. We love the setting and was very surprised - even the dishwasher and satellite TV were a plus [I understand not everyone has satellite in Sa]. To holiday in the african bush with your amazing sunset, wild animals and birds were the highlight of our tour starting in Cape Town. A thought: why don't you put 2 - 3 extra fold-up beds/couches to add space for more visitors? Maybe double bed-couches? The house has ample space to accommodate more than 8 - 10 people. We plan another trip to the Kruger Park in future and would like to bring 2 - 4 additional friends [with their children]. Thanks again!

A wonderful long weekend was spent by all, where we could truly relax and unwind in the beauty of nature.
Warthog Rest is in close proximity to other attractions in the area, such as the Kruger National Park and Blyde River Canyon; which were great as day trips. The lodge has a lovely splash pool to cool off in after a hot day and when the sun goes down - enjoy a braai under the african skies. The accommodation is very comfortable and clean. The cherry on the top is experiencing warthog, giraffe and buffalo right on your doorstep. -

Thanks to the owners for a magnificent time at Warthog Rest! So peaceful day and night. Hmmm, we either slept, ate, read or had a chat. The men watched some sport on the dish whilst the kids had a splash in the pool. Everything was as expected [luxury, quality beds, bedding, etc] but the ambience of the lodge, the quaint town of Hoedspruit and all the things to do and see were just so much more we experienced. We did two days Kruger day-trips, but all of us decided we prefer staying at the lodge, doing what we felt like doing, bonded with the teenagers and our spouses. Will never miss out on this jewel of the bushveld and all our friends have been notified!
