Adjacent to the main building are another two double en-suite chalets - all forming part of Shawu. Guests can also make use of the on-site gym. JoburgParadise like stay
Left on 02/15/2012 for a stay in February 2012
It was our third stay at Indlovu River Lodge.
We enjoyed to be far away from the noise of
Joburg and enjoyed every moment in the Karongwe game reserve.
Johnty and John are very entertaining guides.
While you are out on the drive, the good souls take care of the dishes, etc.
What a paradise. Oh, we wished it was a bit closer to Joburg though. -

Beautiful accommodation with stunning views looking out over a river, with a very personal feeling to the place.
Very friendly rangers who clearly knew what they were talking about.
Large variety of animals, with especially good cheetah and lion sightings.
Rare to see other vehicles on the road, it was as if we were the only ones there.
Plenty for chidlren to do at the lodge with a great pool, aviary and a look out deck in an enclosed area where they can roam without being in danger.

Somerset West, Western CapeA real big five experiance
Left on 08/04/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We visited Indlovu river lodge and stayed in the Shawu chalet from 1 to 7 July 2011. One of the best weeks we had in a long long time. The Shawu Chalet is great for a extended family, sleeps up to 8! Space there are plenty of, even to play the odd cricket match! We had the most amazing animal sightings. We spotted all of the big five in the first three days of our stay. Then the were the birds, the calling of the Fish Eagle with our sundowners at "croc dam" the hippos and many other wonderfull encounters with true nature. Trees there are plenty of, standing tall for a hundred years or more...Precious family time was spent in the evening around a "real" bushfire where we could reflect on the day that has past. A day closer to our next visit. " we WIL be back"
