LondonA dream!
Left on 06/13/2013 for a stay in June 2013
This place is really, really special. You often visit holiday homes and realise they've been advertised in a way that makes them look like a lot more than they actually are .. but Temple Beach House is everything it claims to be and more.
The house itself is beautifully spacious and open and very clean (cleaners can come in every day if you want too), with bonuses like a drive with a huge film library on it, wi-fi all working great etc .. but I think the main point of staying at this house is the location .. a tiny little walk up through the garden and you're on the veranda, with its own sunbed and chairs/table, sitting directly a few steps above a stretch of gorgeous sandy beach, which most of the time is completely empty .. it felt like we had our own private beach!
Sitting out on the veranda and beach for hours on end from dawn to dusk and back again was just magical, as was swimming in the ocean at night, with underwater phosphorous sending out ripples of glowing lights whenever we moved our hands.
And ten minutes walk along the beach is an Bang Seaside Village - basically a collection of loads of different beachside bars and restaurants. So if like us you just fancy being lazy for a few days you can eat there anytime you're hungry without having to think about cooking.
I should also recommend the option to have a guy come in and cook a seafood BBQ for you - we did that on the last night and it was a delicious meal .. I won't try and be a food critic but we love our food and this was so good, so flavoursome and fresh, a food highlight of the trip for sure.
Glenn & Huong are nearby and make you feel so at home and are on call for any questions, and the neighbours all keep an eye out of for you too (there's a place 2 doors down where you can get a great Vietnamese iced coffee, which is a good way to start the day) but you're also left well alone to enjoy this little paradise in private.
Sorry if this sounds exaggerated but it really isn't! Stay here!

Rainbow Beach, AustraliaRelaxing beachside stay.
Left on 06/05/2013 for a stay in May 2013
Well what can I say, from the moment we contacted the owners for booking 'til the morning we left they treated us professionally and promptly. The house was everything we expected and more for two couples with young children 5 & 1 1/2. The house and yard are secure and very private with a few steps through the garden to the covered beachside deck. Great for a night time drink and cuddle watching the lights of the little fishing boats. Mrs Huong gives you a mobile phone with all the contacts you need to make your stay easy and seemless. The local family Mr Mahn and his wife fetch groceries for you and although their english is slight they always have a smile for you and a tickle for the kids. Very close to Hoi an but far enough to not have the traffic noise and bikes. I could talk about it for ever but you need to discover it for yourselves.

Temple House is simply stunning and a great place to stay after a week or so travelling around Vietnam. Our high expectations were exceeded in every possible way.
It was simply perfect for our family of 4.
Hong (the housekeeper/gardener) and Mahn (the fisherman) live next door and really help look after you. I helped Mahn fish one evening and the next evening they came around and cooked for us - very special. Their friend Mihn also came one night and cooked a delicious seafood bbq.
Before breakfast we would often go for a cycle to an Bang fishing village and Tra Que island which are both stunning (take your camera) before stopping at the local market to buy some bread and fruit. Early morning and late afternoon are the best for cycling as it is pretty warm in april. Cam Kim island is another great cycle trip in the early morning or late afternoon (just catch the boat over from Hoi an).
During the day we all loved the day bed overlooking the beach - it is also special at night when watching the fishing boats which light up the ocean.
Taxis to Hoi an are easy to arrange for shopping or dinner out.
Don't think about it - just do it! -

I was hesitant about leaving a review about Temple Beach House as doing so would allow others to discover this absolute gem of a place. It was very tempting to try and keep this place as a bit of a secret so that we could be more sure of it being available on another trip to Vietnam. However, this place deserves attention and notice.
The team here have thought of everything. We were absolutely delighted with the space, decor, amenities and attention to detail and you can't beat the location.
Do yourself a favour and take a 'holiday from your sightseeing holiday' by sitting still for a few days at the Temple Beach House. You won't be disappointed.

We recently stayed at The Temple Beach House and in fact celebrated our marriage there. It was the perfect location for luxury celebration and honeymoon relaxation. Having seen the photos of Temple, we were really excited about staying there and it totally lived up to expectations. The design of the house is elegant and the rooms are spacious and well thought out - particularly the bathrooms - wow!
The gardens are lush and again well planned in terms of layout, lighting and facilities; covered porch with huge day beds, patio area with seating and the fabulous beach deck with day bed and picnic table overlooking the almost deserted beach and sea.
The whole place is well-equipped - the kitchen seemed to have every gadget going although we didn't use them; there are a number of beach front restaurants a 10 minute walk away, delivery menus in the house and you can also arrange for someone to come in and do a BBQ for you. If you do fancy cooking, you are provided with a comprehensive shopping list including general groceries, meat, fish, seafood, drinks etc - fill it in and the couple from the shop next door who clean and keep a check on the place will do the shopping for you. There is also alcohol in the house which you can purchase. There are 4 bicycles at the house or you can arrange to rent a motorbike to get around on - it's 4km down a straight road into Hoi an. You are also provided with a mobile phone which includes a reliable taxi number.
Our wedding was planned with the assistance of a local wedding organiser. As we were in the UK, the guys at Temple and the wedding organiser worked together to help make the whole place look stunning. If you're looking for a venue to have an intimate, personal celebration - go for it, it's perfect!

Left on 04/05/2013 for a stay in March 2013
I stayed at this property with my husband and teenage son in mid-March. In a single word, it was outstanding! I felt like I walked into a page of architectural Digest, the house was that stunning. The pictures on the website really don't do it justice. The location was perfect. We enjoyed early morning walks on the beach watching the local fisherman. We rode bikes (included) to the restaurants at an Bang beach. It was a quick and easy taxi ride into town. The caretakers were sweet and live a few doors away. We were able to buy sodas and Vietnamese coffee at their shop. They also did our laundry for a very reasonable price. The owners were professional and lovely to work with. We travel a lot, and the hotels, no matter how beautiful, all seem to blend together. But there are some unique lodgings, like the convent in Rome, the hutong in Beijing, the windmill in Santorini, that remain vivid memories. Temple Beach House is one of those places. You will dream about going back!

Very friendly staff and owners, a beautiful place near the beach. And few mosquitos! A bit strange room solition with three bathrooms for two bedrooms. Not a very cheap place though, and we had a bit problems with getting enough cash out of the atms to pay for it. Hopefully they will get the credit card payment solution soon.

Left on 03/01/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We rented this property as a group of 4 and found the size ideal. It had 2 bedrooms and 3 glass-ceilinged bathrooms which were a real luxury! We loved the whole layout and decor of the house. The kitchen was thoughtfully equipped and there were ample places to sit and lounge around, both indoor and outdoors. the outdoor pavilion facing the beach was the nicest part of the house! you could sit there and chill for a whole day in good weather. unfortunately for us it was raining and chilly for most of our stay.
The location was a short 10 mins by taxi to Hoi an town, only problem was most taxi drivers didnt know the way there. Perhaps a sign or house number could be put up?
The house keeper Manh and his wife has a cafe two doors down with the nicest vietnamese iced coffee we tasted, and they were discreet yet always on hand to help if needed.
overall, we would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for some peace and quiet in luxurious surroundings.

MacauFantastic week at the temple house
Left on 02/19/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We just came back from a fabulous week at the temple house. We had great fun and all went very well. The temple house was perfect for us (a couple + our 3 kids). It's all we had expected and more! The house is very unique, location right on the beach couldn't be better, the beach is just our type (some waves for the fun, far from the crowds, great water temperature..) and the combination with Hoi an so nearby for a stroll in the morning or late afternoon is perfect. All in all we were lucky with the weather, temperatures quite good for the beach without the extreme heat of summer. We'd usually go to Hoi an in the morning when it was cloudy with maybe 1 or 2 showers and then at noon it turned to sunshine and we'd come back and stay at the beach. we'd also sometimes go for a drink before sunset to Soul Kitchen, a laid-back friendly bar at an bang beach, which is a 15-minute walk down the road (you can also go by the beach).
Service-wise: Mann is right next door and can help call a taxi if you want to go anywhere (shows up quick and it's less than 10 minutes to town), and will take care of the shopping. Ms. Hong will come once a day make beds and help with some cleaning. You can cook at the house or order some pizza or italian, we used both options. we also tried once the BBQ vietanmese-style prepared by Minh which was excellent. Staff's English is very limited but this was never a problem. Glenn was there to receive us first night and would be a phone call away if anything needed. all in all, everything went great since I first contacted Daniel to book the house until our departure. Thanks everyone for the great holiday we had!!! -

The Temple Beach House on an Bang Beach is beautifully designed. All the details have been carefully thought out to combine beauty and comfort. Both the inside and outside living areas are perfect. The floor plan is ideal for 2 couples or a family. With separate sleeping areas for privacy and communal areas for socializing. There are restaurants withing easy walking on the beach and food can be delivered also. Maid and laundry service is very good. Taxis are easy to get when you want to go to town.

If you're looking for beach, privacy & beauty this place is for you. If you're more suburban/country person/family, understand geckos in the house is great & don't mind a few neighborhood chickens wandering through the backyard every once in a while while you read on the porch you will be right at home. We were ready to stay for another week!
There was plenty of space with 2 large bdrms, kit, living, dining, outdoor space both in shade & sun as well as near the beach.
For a family of 4 with 1 boy (10yrs) & 1 girl (12yrs) having 3 full bathrooms was fantastic as everyone had their own.
Kitchen well supplied w cookware/eating utensils. After a bit of trouble with the blender in the late morning, the housekeeper/facilities couple who live next door, had it repaired & back to us by early afternoon. Not all desired supplies can be preordered, so ask for directions/map to nearest Western groceries (across the street from each other) in town. The BBQ we had on our second to last night was fantastic! Would highly recommend it at least one night.
Good satellite reception w plenty of English speaking channels for rainy times/restful evenings.
Good internet access, although no VPN, so facebook not accessible.
Beach was clean & beautiful with hardly any traffic, except for the one morning the locals fished nearer to the shore by walking their nets along - a very cool thing to watch!
An Bang Beach restaurants just 10-15 minute walk up the beach. Better to walk than to bike as roads are not completed yet.
Into Hoi an is 4-5 kilometers, so renting a motorbike or getting a taxi recommended, esp w kids.
Song did a great job keeping the place looking great & was never underfoot, but always available if something was needed. A perfect balance.
What our family liked best about Temple Beach House was the relaxed beachy feel. It was a quiet place to get away from busy life & take a swim or read but close enough to town to be able to go out when we wanted a bit more excitement. -

After our exertions at angkor Wat Half marathon, TBH on an Bang beach was a great place to chill out and recover. Really loved the house, garden and location right on the beach. It was the low-season so we had the beach practically all to ourselves (no touts and hustlers haha)! A tip for guests : Dec 11th is Hoi an Unesco status day and all heritage attractions give free entry.

Staying 5 weeks in an Bang beach was fabulous. We spent 2 weeks at the Temple Beach House and it was fantastic! The kitchen is surprisingly well equipped, from an auto Coffee maker to a 4-mode Food Processor! This came in handy for us as we cooked most of our meals at home. The house was fully air-conditioned, although we kept the house open during the day - it was nice to have aC at night with a mosquito net over our bed. The grounds are seriously well-kept, leading up to a very well furnished beach view platform. Taking our meals up there was a pleasure! They have a terrific grill, and can arrange a cookout for you if you like. Very private! Loved it - already missing it! Definitely stay here!

Left on 10/31/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We had a fantastic four nights at the beach house with our two children and loved the beautiful rooms, the wonderful grounds and the beachside location - with easy taxi access into Hoi an to explore. Thuan who is associated with the house cooked us a wonderful meal one night and Manh and Hong (who live one door down) were exceptional at organising food, taxis and servicing the house when required. Our children especially enjoyed playing with Manh and Hong’s beautiful children and we loved Manh’s coffee every morning.
It was great to be able to enjoy some space again after hotel rooms and to also have the option to self cater for some meals. For us this was the perfect place for a holiday within a holiday and we would have loved to stay longer. Thanks to Daniel, Glenn and Thuan (the owners) for the hospitality and we will certainly be pointing friends in your direction! -

I have been staying in Beach resorts with my family in Vietnam for over 6 years, but until now we hadn't thought about rental property. We stayed her quite by chance as a friend recommended it as an alternative to booking 2 hotel rooms ! It was perfect. The villa is spacious and beautifully decorated with thought and love. The bedrooms are spacious, with amazing linen (!!) a great kitchen including an oven?!?! the bathrooms are great too -my kids loved the outside one ! and the whole thing is on one floor plus outside deck and BBQ area which is fantastic - perfect for family evenings and after the kids are in bed - to relax and unwind. The staff were always smiley and willing help with anything. We were so relaxed here, just opening the back doors onto a large lawn which lead to the ocean - ahhh ...amazing.
The villa is a short walk from a few beach front restaurants - all good - and the town centre (if you can be bothered) is about 15 minutes away by taxi.
This is a gem in Hoi anh - in fact in Vietnam! - The villa reminded me of Bali, and the beach is stunning - I would highly recommend this rental - and will definitely be returning. -

Left on 10/23/2012 for a stay in October 2012
I had the best time at Temple Beach House. From the location a short walk or bicycle ride to Hoi an's best beach, An Bang beach, to the deco of the house, everything made for a great stay. The house is very well appointed: large living room with a great open kitchen, comfy tv area and a big long dining table overlooking the lush green garden; spacious bathromms with very well designed en-suite bathrooms; many vintage touches and unique artworks. The backyard with its bbq and deck overlooking the ocean are priceless. The beach is literally in your backyard. The very pretty city of Hoi an is only a 5 minutes car drive away. Top notch place for a weekend away, a holiday or a longer term rental.
