We just returned from one short week of bliss at Westerlee Villa. Super clean and comfortable surrounded by lovely gardens and view of hilltop. Location was very convenient to Holetown (apppox. 1 mi.). Everything was perfect - Carol and Dick were at our beck and call next door should we need anything. We particularly enjoyed our afternoon swim in the quiet pool after a stressful day of lounging at the beach! Can't say enough good things - the property exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be returning to Westerlee (or one of her other rentals on the property). Thank you for a wonderful week.

Our family of four rented the Gingerbread Cottage for spring break. All of us were thrilled with our stay and would not hesitate to return...in fact we would all love to! Our beds were comfortable, the kitchen was outfitted beautifully and the location was great, we rented a car and we were able to explore the island and come 'home' to our peaceful cottage and enjoy watching the monkeys. The service here is kind and attentive, yet unobtrusive, a difficult combination to achieve. Simply lovely in every respect.

You will see monkeys on the property. Nice airy house. Ocean of in the distance. The wrap around balcony with hammock was excellent for the rainy days. 2 minute drive to nearest beach.

Whether it's the view, villa, pool, monkeys and I'm purposely leaving other greats out for futures to discover. Hospitality from Carol, Dick and Lotti deserves 6 stars. This villa at this price was a deal for my holidays. Also made the good decision of renting the car from Carol (driving on the wrong side of the road is not that hard). Make the owners take you to Wendys, tell them they have no choice, cannot remember laughing so much.

Ideal vacation spot

Stayed here in late December till early January with 4 kids aged 16 to 22. The house was perfect for our group. Big enough to allow for privacy and quiet time, the house was clean, airy, had a nice breeze at all time so little need to turn on the aC,the kitchen was well-equipped and Carol made sure we always had clean towels. The site was gorgeous with a great pool area with BBQ and tables, lots of beautiful plants and flowers, green monkeys, chirping birds... Coffee in the morning on the patio overlooking a valley of greenery and flowers was hard to beat.
Carol and Dick were super helpful, setting up car rental and a day on a catamaran, as well as providing us with numerous suggestions and tips of things to do, places to eat, New Year's Eve activities, etc. Although a car is essential, the house is within a 5 minute drive to banking, groceries, shopping, restaurants, bars and beach. And at the end of the day, the villa provides you with a quiet, off the noisy, beaten bar and beach path to unwind and relax.
Overall experience was excellent and I would strongly recommend. -

First let me say that we rent a lot of homes all over the globe for frequent pleasure trips. We've had some disastrous outcomes and some terrific ones. This rental beat them all hands down
The bad: It's a long, long flight from the West Coast of California. Food is crazy expensive. Plan on spending no less than $50.00 (us) for two people on "cheap" take out meal . The 17.25% tax is a bit steep. I definitely recommend stocking up at the grocery store and preparing meals at home on the grill or in the well appointed kitchen. Buy beer and take it to the beach rather than spending between $8-15 us per bottle at the beach.
The good: Carol, Dick and Lottie were the most accommodating host you could possibly imagine. Full of information and no detail had been overlooked. Carol even did our laundry for us and had it neatly folded upon our return from a busy day exploring the island. They hosted a BBQ for us by the amazing pool and took four of our group of five out to experience the local nightlife. Outstanding service all the way around. We felt like we were saying goodbye to family as we departed for the airport.
Westrlee house is simply beautiful and everything you could possibly want in a Barbados vacation rental. The pool and grounds are delicious and vibrant.
We opted to include a vehicle in our stay. The car was brand new, well equipped and about $300-400 us less than what a local rental car would have cost. I highly recommend it. For those of us used to driving on the right hand side of the road it was disorienting and a bit tough to adjust to the left side but after a few days it became second nature.

Carol Kipling and her family are kind, friendly and fun people. My friends and I vacationed at the Westerlee Villa and enjoyed our stay very much. The Villa's location on the island is perfect. Carol gave us advice and directions about places to visit and things to see. What I enjoyed most was the feeling of the Villa. It was like visiting good friends, rather than renting a hotel room. Thank you Carol!

We would like to say thank you so much to Carol,Dick and Lotti for a wonderful vacation,Myself my friend and her son all stayed at the Westerlee for one month as i was getting married whilst there, The westerlee is the most gorgeous and relaxed place i been on the island the villa is gorgeous and the pictures do not do this place justice it is much much nicer in person.Carol and her family are the perfect hosts always there if needed and helped us out lots THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS. Would reccomend Westerlee or any of the other 2 to anyone looking for a gorgeous vaction as this place worth every penny and you wont be disapointed at all... Carol we will def be back to visit

We have twice stayed at "Westerlee House" and both times have not wanted to leave. Carol and her family have made us most welcome and we shall return again and again. We actually rented "Westerlee" but there are two other accommodations within the property. We have met other guests who return time and again. We enjoyed the whole setting of this property. The monkeys at the bottom of the garden and the next time we visit will expect to see horses in the paddock. Lovely views and not overlooked by any neighbours and only about a mile from the beach. What more could you ask? Can't wait to go back!!

We've stayed at Westerlee House for a number of years and each time we arrive we are never disappointed. The position of the house is ideal and you have a real feeling of space and tranquility. The pool is there to relax by and there is always a wonderful balmy breeze in the evenings to keep you cool. Carol and Lottie are always hospitable and helpful in everyway and we really do feel 'part of the family.'
I look forward to our holiday every year, counting down the weeks and days - I'm already looking forward to this New Year at Westerlee! -

We have visited in 2007 & 2008. The Villa is well situated in a quite area opposite the Sugar Hill Tennis Resort with good eating at its restaurant.The 3 bedroom villa is well equipped for a family up of 6 or two/three couples, with two adaquate bathrooms.Plenty of room for children to play in its very large gardens with a good pool and BBQ area.Its old world charm makes for a relaxed and peacful holiday. Being reasonably close to Holetown with its shopping & restaurants makes this a ideal spot. A car is essential.

This was my fourth trip to Barbados, and unlike any other with my stay on this
beautiful property. It was as advertised and even more wonderful than my
friends, family and I expected. The grounds and gardens are beautifully kept,
the accommodations clean, comfortable and stylish, and the view awesome
and peaceful. I should also mention that we were close enough to town and
the beach to conveniently take in the sites as we pleased. Finally, I can't say
enough about the owners who made us feel welcome and like friends staying
for a visit. Thanks Kiplings we will be back as soon as we can!
