I brought my immediate family of seven for a week and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the beach house. The place is very charming and the access to the beach is unbeatable. My only regret is the week went by too quickly. Southern Vacation Rentals personnel were great to deal with.

My family rented the house for a week and it was perfect! Right on the beach! The location couldn't have been any better! The house was very nice! We did have door knob that wasn't working and they sent out repair man right away and fixed the problem. I would stay in this house again! Right next to the pool which was very nice! Overall the house was really nice and my family had a great time!

I spent the first day cleaning the house. The grill was so bad it could not be used. They did come back and cleaned it, but never got it to work. A storm went though and knocked out the refrigerator. Service was very good at sending an appliance man. He also fixed another electrical problem the storm caused. Over all we had a good time. Good location, nice house overall.
Last year we stayed at the beach peach. It was much cleaner. -

the house was located in a wonderful private community. the beach front location was spectacular, wonderful view, easy access to the beach.
The home was set up well and comfortable.
Would suggest just two minor items. The pillows on the bed were not very good and more importantly the knives available for food preparation and cooking were very dull. We actuallu went and purchased one for our use.
one item to be mindful of was the fact that the stairs leading to the house were made of beautiful slate or similar material. when it rains and they get wet they are very slippery. Caution is essential when using them when wet

This home is perfect! It looks exactly as pictures are shown, you are literally just a few steps from the beautiful water! Southern Vacations was very easy and hassle free to do with. We didnt have any problems or issues that had to be resolved. Everything was perfect!! We even got to check in around noon instead of having to wait until 4. Definatley a place I could stay at forever!

The house was exactly what we expected which was great. I felt the rental company could have been more helpful. This was my first time there and I had asked for the name of anyone who could rent us a crib or baby stollers, they told me they would get it to me but never did. I was able to find one on line. I had to ask around once I got there about the garbage service which was very good. I have rented in other areas before, and normally a house in this price range will have a hair dryer. The security people in the community were very friendly and helpful. I attempted to call the 800 phone number at the end of my stay at 5am to tell them I was leaving, but I was disconnected 8 times, and the security guard at the gate when I left told me that others had complained of the same problem.

My family of four rented this home August 2009. Although the decor was
cute, very beach-y, the actual accommodations were not comfortable. My
husband and I are both very active, fit individuals and there was absolutely
no way for two adults (no matter of size) to sleep in the Master bed. It was
way to small, and had the feel of a hotel room, with the itchy, comforter and
hard bed. My husband slept in the "guest" room, while myself and little girl
slept in the Master bed.
With regards to the beach, the distance between the end of the house and
the actual water was no more than 15-20 feet. And given that the
community access to the beach is directly beside the house, there were
hundreds of people trying to set-up umbrellas and such, 3-rows-deep in a
space of 15 feet! We had people everywhere, all around us, and constantly
stepping on our things and passing UNDER our umbrella to get to the
community access!! Absolutely NO privacy at all. Unfortunately, I believe
this is a direct result of a recent hurricane or large storm which backed up
the sand and allowed the water to come so close to the home. However, for
the money we paid, there's no way we'd recommend this home to anyone
who wouldn't be comfortable with complete strangers walking on-top-of

This is the second time I have rented Tropical Illusions twice. The service i received from Southern Resorts was outstanding. As for the hourse I rented, this time the house was in need of a paint job, new refrigerator and there were way too many bugs for my comfort (huge roaches were scaring the children). The location is still one of the best beach locations ever, but the upkeep on the place seems to be lacking. It was a 5 star two years ago and is a 4 star this year.

We really loved staying in the Tropical Illusions home. It was exactly what we were looking for. We had quite a large group with a wide range of ages and everyone was happy. The house was good, the neighborhood was nice, and the beach was perfect! Loved it! Would definitely stay there again!

This property was simply perfect. We have 5 kids ages 13-6, and it was just wonderful to be able to walk out our back door right onto the beach. It could not have been any more beautiful than it was.

My girlfriends from Georgia and Chattanooga rented this awesome condo in Destin during the last week of April for a birthday get-together. The weather was perfect and we had the perfect get-away with luxury accomodations including three balconies and a third floor bedroom that looked out over the beautiful ocean view. It is decorated in beach decor and has top of the line furniture. We were close to shopping and restaurants. We cooked a gourmet meal in the wonderful kitchen. The beach was steps away. I would definitely rent Tropical Illusions again. In fact, we may make it an annual event!
