Palm Cay Condominium #1 is located at 3000 Gulf Drive in Holmes Beach, on the west side of the street for easy beach access. The complex offers a heated pool and an on site coin operated laundry room for your convenience. Itβs a short stroll to shopping and restaurants and the beach is less than two minutes away. This two bedroom, one bath, ground level unit has been totally renovated and will sleep six with a queen size bed in the main bedroom, a full bed in the guest bedroom and a futon in the living room. last year we stayed on anna Marie Island for 10 days and decided to book condo for a month in February of 2013, loved anna Marie. We looked at Palm Clay 4 and was told it was the same as clay 1 except it was a two bed room with 1 bath(2 bath would have been nice)but the one when we got there we found was pretty big. We really didn't really see the condo we rented but they had a video with reviews on their web site.
The master bedroom was huge with a very large closet, and lots of dresser space; with a TV which my husband and I found to be a plus; we like to catch the news before we go to bed.
Problem the large window blind didn't close in the middle and one slat fell off, we taped it back on to find that this had happen to a lot of them.
The other bed room was very small with no closet and limited dresser
space. Over head fan worked but light did not even after changing bulbs. The pull out sofa,which I was very excited about, was extremely old and uncomfortable.
One of the keys didn't work, was always sticking and had to play with the lock and handle to get door open. sill on door entrance was broken, was always concerned about some one falling.
I rated it a 3 star because the price was right, the pool was wonderful,fenced in with a gate at other end to the beach, that I thought was great for my 3 year old granddaughter. You share the pool with the other folks in the condos which I not a problem, I love talking to other people from different parts of the country and world...
And the beach...a half a small block walk and you are there with out paying large prices for on the beach!!! I found all the things I mentioned not as much a problem as my husband did except for the key; that is the one I had.
I might mention that this condo is up for sale and this may be why things were not being addressed. With a little TLC it would be a great get away.

Apartmente very spacious/comfortable for the 3 people. Very clean and well kept. Close to the beach and very quite; relaxing. Some items did not work properly; internet service not always available, no light in small room, no light over the sink but you are on vacation and those things are of small importance.

The unit was located in the perfect location. Smallish yet very comfortable.Very close to the gulf, without having to cross Gulf Drive.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Palm Cay 1! It was great having a heated pool and easy safe access to the beach with having children. Then an added plus we had great weather. Couldn't ask for much more. Also, having a washer and dryer there was helpful too.

Palm Cay 1 is a very nice unit. It is very accommodating for a small family or
as we were, 2 single travel companions who desire separate bedrooms. It is not
a "high test" unit but does not need to be. There were several repairs that
should be made ( one burner on the stove did not work and the ice cube trays
all leaked.. we replaced 2). The location is excellent since it is the middle of
the keys from Anna Maria to St. Armand's. The free trolley stops across the
street and the beach is only 150 short yards away. The nice sized pool was
clean and heated. The folks at Island Vacation Properties were right across the

The pictures & discription that you have are very out of date. The kitchen in this unit is very much in need of updating and the 2nd bedroom has a double not a queen. The apartment is central to all the areas of AMI and we have booked a 2 month stay again for 2010. Eventhough we feel that there are some issues that need to be addressed (such as the mattress in the master bedrood), it is very reasonably priced, has a pool, is a 2 min. walk to the beautiful AMI beaches, and is across the street from Mr. Bones the best ribs restaurant anywhere.
The unit is on a busy main street and it is sometime difficut to back out of the parking area in front of the unit, but the noise level dies down at night, usually.Response from Island Vacation Properties, LLC - 05/20/2009

We recenty spent two months on AMI and enjoyed every minute of our time on the island. The unit we stayed in seemed to be rather outdated compared to the other units in the complex. The stove and refrigerator are in need of replacement and the equipment to clean with, such as sweeper and mop, are in bad shape. We like to eat out, but not all the time, and it was very difficult to cook on the small apartment size stove. The mattress in the master bedroom is in need of replacement.
The location of this unit is perfect for beach goers. Three minutes and you are on the wonderful soft sand of Holmes Beach. The pool did not seem to be heated when we were there in March and April.
I don't want this reveiw to appear to be too negative. We have already booked this same unit for next year!!! The above issues are easily addressed and I'm sure they will be.
I just looked at the description of unit#1 that you have posted and the pictures are very outdated. The kitchen cabinet next to the stove is not covered in white, the 2nd bedroom does not have a trundle bed and the living room does not have a pull out bed, although all the wall paper is still the same.Response from Island Vacation Properties, LLC - 05/07/2009

Great place to stay. Eventhough unit is located on front side, next to main street through island, traffice noise was no bother like we thought it would be when we first arrived. Unit was clean and well furnished. Price was very reasonable! And only a quick 1.5 block walk to beach. No traffic to worry about. We are planning a return trip probably in 2010, and would certainly consider staying at the same place if available.

Palm Cay is a great place to stay. The grounds are kept very tidy.The beach is just a few steps away and each night everyone heads out to see the sunset. The free trolley stops right outside the door which will take you up and down the island. The pool is very nice and there is always a spot to sit out of the wind if it is a bit cool. The people we met were very friendly.There are a lot of good places to eat very handy...Skinny's for super burgers and a cold brew and Sharky's for steak. Mr. Bones is right across the street which serves up great ribs.Our family really enjoys staying at Anna Maria Island.

We have stayed at Palm Cay before.It is a great location,A short walk to the beach,not far from the shops and restaurants .The apartments are well furnished, there is enough room inside.(We spend most of out time outside anyway).The price for this apartment is very reasonable.I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it.

Palm Cay 1 is an excellent value. You will find everything you need but that is it. The pool was cold and the pool area average at best. The unit was comfortable and some rooms were spacious. There is a very limited dining area and the second bedroom is very small. It is a short walk to the beach. This rental is a great for those on a budget looking for basic accomodations.

Nice home with a cozy feel. convienent location to beach and stores. Pool was clean and quiet. Nice layout and room to bq on side lawn. We rented bikes and biked the area never using our car. Clean, good size rooms and well kept property.Nice laundry area as well. Easy walk to the beach.
The busy road was a bit of a draw back since our unit fronted the road.
