The Hideaway, located at 5002 5th Avenue in Holmes Beach is a gulf front home which will take you back in time when living was easy. This wonderful home was built in the 1940’s and still has the same charm and ambience of days gone by. Magnolia wood walls and ceilings throughout the home give the feel of an old time beach cottage. The location was my family's favorite part in the Hideaway. We were right on the beach, and we could hear it as we went to sleep at night. Everything in the house worked except for one day when we had a very small plumbing problem where, when asked, they came right away to fix it. There was plenty of space and plenty of blankets, pot and pans, everything we needed. The only thing I didn't give five stars to was the cleanliness, and for only one reason (but one that was important to us): it didn't seem like the cleaning crews dusted the house very often at all. The drapes had a definite dusty smell to them as well, but overall, this cabin was amazing. I definitely felt like I could completely relax here, and my whole family wanted to stay forever!

I grew up in Bradenton, and know anna Maria Island well. The Hideaway is a gem of a place from a era when most of the island consisted of single family homes, and not condos or monstrous beach pads. If you want a place right on the beach, that still has "old Florida charm", then this is the place.
