Ocala, FloridaRelaxing and rejuvenating in our "secret garden"!
Left on 05/09/2013 for a stay in May 2013
The only bad thing about staying at Island Garden Villas at Holmes Beach on anna Maria Island, is having to leave! We were fortunate enough to do a repeat visit at this lovely spot last week (first week in May), and enjoyed it must as much if not more than our last visit.
We call it our secret garden because truly it is a hidden jewel of an oasis. It seems that every exotic plant, tree and flower can be found in and around the villas, all anchored by a huge beautiful flowing fountain in the center of the courtyard. This is truly one of the most relaxing and peaceful places we've ever found. And it's about a three minute walk down yet another "secret" path that opens out onto gorgeous Holmes Beach with its green and turquoise waters lapping at the very white and pristine sand.
The villa accommodations are very well appointed and tastefully decorated, and kitchens well equipped. The owners of Island Garden Villas, Chuck and Christy, are available and always accommodating for anything to make your stay more enjoyable.
Can you tell we love this place? If you're planning a stay on anna Maria Island, do yourself a favor and check into Island Garden Villas. You'll be delighted!

Stay for a week in the birds of paradise villa. Everything from the garden to the villa's themselves was absolutely beautiful. The innkeepers C&C; did a fabulous job creating a warm and peaceful environment for us to relax in and catch up on the finer things in life. Close to the beach, shopping and restaurants. The property provides everything you need from towels to beach buggies to umbrellas. One of the few properties that has a hot tub. Will stay here again and would highly recommend to family and friends

Lakewood, COQuiet and oh-so-relaxing beach holiday!
Left on 04/30/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We just returned from a week at Island Villas with our 3 kids (ages 10, 12, 14), and none of us wanted to come home! We stayed in Unit 101, which borders the road, but was quiet, roomy and very convenient to the outdoor shower and hot tub (which we all enjoyed at least once a day!).
Our kids shared the king-sized bed with room to spare, and my husband and I slept blissfully on the queen. The showers were quiet heavenly (we are used to our water-saver showers in arid Colorado), the kitchen well-appointed and quite lovely with granite countertops, and we split our meals between our private patio and the central courtyard by the fountain. The beautiful and lush landscaping of the courtyard and the soothing sounds of the fountain contributed to our feeling of being hidden away from all the cares of the world.
Ample beach chairs, boogie boards, toys, and nets were conveniently and easily rolled to the beach each day in one of the large wagons available (that we kept loaded outside our unit all week!). The beach was fabulous--just across the street down a short path. We took long strolls along the beach each day, enjoyed many fabulous sunsets, discovered troves of sand dollars by snorkeling just off the beach, followed a pod of migrating cow rays as they skimmed less than a foot from shore, saw a few dolphin slip in and out of the waves, and generally enjoyed many hours of playtime with perfect 80-degree weather all week.
The kids most enjoyed hunting for shells near the city pier at the north island, loved the Mote aquarium (about a 30 minute drive), as well as the day on a rented pontoon boat from which we saw many dolphins and caught a few fish (Skip at Bradenton Beach Marina was great).
Christy and Chuck were lovely hosts, and responded quickly to all questions, even carting over a couple additional bikes for us to try out. They obviously know how to make their guests happy, and we could easily see why they have all 5-star reviews! We hope to be back! -

We stayed at Island Garden Villas april 6-13 th and had a wonderful time. The gardens around the property are beautiful and peaceful, there are many perfect places to curl up with a good book. The beach is right across the street and Cristy and Chuck have everything you would need for the beach, towels, chairs, umbrella etc.. They also have Beach bikes for their guests use and we rode to the pier every day to watch for dolphins! Everyone on the island is very friendly and they have beautiful sunsets! We highly recommend Island Garden Villas and can't wait to come back! Christy and Chuck were perfect hosts.

Andover, MinnesotaA beach vacation gem on the gulf coast that we will be visiting
Left on 04/24/2013 for a stay in April 2013
When my husband and I arrived at the Island Garden Villas and stepped into our private villa-the Oleander, we had stars in our eyes. Our 1BD villa was one of 6 tastefully decorated villas that encircle a lovely garden courtyard with a bubbling fountain and patio seating. Our villa had 3+ rooms with ample space yet cozy-comfy for relaxing and sleeping, cooking and dining inside along with our private outside patio surrounded by lush tropical plants where we enjoyed dining each day. The amenities are ample in providing what guests would need equipped for cooking meals and grilling, laundry facilities and recreation. We were worry-free in knowing they supplied all the beach stuff and bikes which were great fun. Being only 50 yards across the street from the white sandy beach was the highlight. These are patron-only beaches in Holmes Beach, so they were quiet with a spattering of people, no beach sports but lots of seashelling. It was like heaven on earth, just what hubby and I were anticipating coming here. Holmes Beach on anna Maria Island is truly what owners, Christy and Chuck, refer it to being like "the old-time Florida" a small quaint, peaceful haven run by the friendly locals. There are numerous restaurants to choose from average to pricier so dining in makes sense sometimes. Our favorite place we dined out was, The Waterfront which literally is on the beachfront. Everything you need for convenience is within 3-4 miles, groceries, coffee shop, shops, rentals, restaurants, fitness center which my husband used every day. We cannot give enough praises about Christy and Chuck who we found to be a delightful couple, hard working husband/wife team, who we saw everyday taking exceptional care of their property. They always stopped to chat and ask about our day. Our vacation at Island Garden Villas was an exceptional find, truly a "beach haven" we will be returning to enjoy next year!

We've been staying at Island Garden Villas for more than a decade and can't say enough about what lengths the owners, Chuck and Christy, go to to make their visitors feel so welcome. We've stayed in three different villas over the years-each one uniquely different from the others, but always well decorated and extremely clean and comfortable. Each year we find another new touch, from new tropical plants in the garden area to decor changes to the villas. Anything you can think of that you need on the island vacation is provided from beach chairs and umbrellas to beach toys, and even a wagon to tote everything in. We're already looking forward to next year.

We fell in love with our villa the moment we stepped into it. It felt like our "home away from home"with excellent furnishings and appliances...all tastefully decorated. We were looking for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. This we found. The courtyard provided a quiet relaxing area to read, doze, or meet friendly villa renters while soaking in the soothing melody of the water fountain, water falls, and quiet background music. The caretakers of the "garden" cannot do enough to make everyone feel comfortable. For us, it was "just what the Doctor ordered" It truly was an escape from a long cold winter up north. The gulf/beach is just across the street and exceptionally accessible for sunning or walking the beautiful sandy beach...for miles!!!

Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We spend two months here each year. It is a delightful home away from home. Just as it's name implies it is like an Island. Sit in the center courtyard on a sun shiny day and you could easily think you are in Hawaii. The foliage is lush and gorgeous, you can feel how much the owners love beauty and nature and also you can feel how much they care for your comfort and happiness during your stay at the Villas.
Each of the villas is tastefully decorated with all the amenities one would need to set up housekeeping for months. At the villas you have the luxury of living in a small Gulf side town where you can walk to the beach, post office, library, stores, gym, or a restaurant or you can take in big city cultural events like art galleries, plays, musicals, museums, and shows in nearby Sarasota and
Tampa.
A stone's throw from a quiet beach that not only yields awesome sunsets but views of dolphins, manatees, pelicans and a variety of sea birds. There are lots of parks in the area to explore and places to ride bikes or paddle kayaks or canoes. You can vary your visit to suit your likes. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, we give Island Garden Villas a 10++.j

We loved our stay at Island Garden Villas! Everything about it is so wonderful that we'd love to live there. The courtyard and gardens are absolutely beautiful with lush tropical plants, and sitting by the fountain is so relaxing. Our unit, Orchid, was clean, charming, and furnished with every conceivable need. The laundry room had all we needed for the beach and more--bicycles, magazines. The walk to the beach is down a lovely path and couldn't have taken much more than a minute. Sunsets are gorgeous and not to be missed. Our hosts Christy and Chuck are delightful and always willing to chat, answer questions, share their story. We will definitely try to return but for a longer stay the next time. Thank you, Chuck and Christy, for a most memorable stay in your little piece of paradise.

We were lucky to have the opportunity to stay 2 weeks at Island Garden Villas. Nonetheless, I got teary eyed when I walked to the beach for the last time to say good bye! It ended to soon. I absolutely loved "our" villa, the gardens and the location. Christy and Chuck were wonderful and responsive to any needs that we had during our stay (including changing our water heater when we had a problem). We rode our bikes and our motorcycles; we shopped at thrift stores as well as nice boutiques on Pine Street; We went to the Ringling Museum in Sarasota and toured Port Manatee; we ate wonderful food at the Waterfront, the Sand Bar and also loved Minnie's. The villa was very clean and had everything needed for the meals we prepared, beach items such as chairs and towels, and areas outside for relaxation in the garden and the hot tub. We already hope to return next year and without hesitation hope to stay at Garden Island Villas again!

We spent the Christmas holiday at Island Garden Villas and had an excellent time! Our 2BD/2Ba Villa (#103) was comfortable, well-maintained, and well stocked for cooking. The owners, Christy & Chuck, clearly take great pride in their property and we enjoyed talking with them and getting tips for good places to eat. The grounds are tropical and lush and were beautifully decorated for the holidays. There is an on-site laundry facility and beach chairs/towels and bikes are included in the amenities. The beach is a short, easy walk across the street. Anna Maria Island is a truly a beautiful, low-key place to relax and enjoy a slower pace. I do hope to return and would definitely stay at Island Garden Villas again. Thank you Chuck, Christy, and Blackie (the resident cat!) for a wonderful vacation!

We stayed in Holmes Beach at Island Garden Villas in the Bird of Paradise villa. The villa was beautifully decorated, clean and had all the amenities you need for a week at the beach. The garden with the fountain was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting outside on the table for breakfast while listening to the birds singing. The beach was a short walk away and there were carts available to load up beach chairs and umbrellas that are available in the villas. The beach was beautiful and water was warm. The service was excellent at the villas and was one of the nicest places we have visited. We will come back.

We happened upon this paradise five years ago and have come back every Labor Day weekend since. Chuck and Christy have created a very beautiful, charming, peaceful vacation getaway that feels just like home. They have thought of every small detail to make your time there the best it could possibly be. The gardens are truly amazing and well maintained. Sitting by the fountain and gardens reading a book or having a cup of coffee early in the morning or relaxing with friends under the moonlight, creates memories forever. I look forward to the this visit every year to take the edge off our very crazy hectic lives. Thank you both for creating such a beautiful environment to enjoy at the beach.

We had a wonderful time at Island Garden Villas. One is never sure about the result when making reservations online and sight unseen but the villas were everything they professed to be...and more. We felt right at home from the minute we arrived. We marveled at how Chuck and Christy anticipated our every need. They are gracious hosts.
Since we had children with us who love to swim, I worried that not having a pool would elicit lots of complaints but there were none. We swam at several of the beaches available on anna Maria Island and some in the family snorkeled in the bay. Everyone had a great time. -

We want to thank you for your hospitality and care during our recent stay at the Island Garden Villas. The garden at the center of the villas is absolutely beautiful and brought to mind what Eden must have been like. The fountain, flowers & birds singing, the wonderful variety of plants were all so relaxing and comforting. The nearby hot tub perfect. We also loved meeting shy "Blackie", Eden's resident cat.
The villa with all its ammenities provided a very beautiful "home away from home"...clean,lovely decorated and furnished, selected and maintained with loving care.
From this home base, the beach wea a short walw away and chairs & beach umbrellas were provided. We enjoyed vising the special piers and found grocery store and restaurants only a short drive away.
We enjoyed visiting the aquarium, including an ecological boat tour. We also enjoyed our trip to the Ringling Home & their Circus Museum & Art Museum when we weren't relaxing at the beach & Villas.
We look forward to returning and we highly recommend it to our family & friends.

Dear Chuck and Christy
Our 10 days at the Palm Villa were the best days of our Vacation in Florida. Although we got there during horicane Debbi, we had a wonderful time. The Villa is absolutely beautiful, clean and comfortable, like being home. My best part was riding bicycle in the morning and walking the beach in the evenings, especially watching the sunset. My son loved the hot tub and riding the moped. Thank you for your hospitality; best wishes.

Our villa was immaculate, well appointed and charming, as were the surrounding gardens. Chuck and Christy were perfect hosts;everything necessary for a week on the beach was provided, from sand toys to bicycles to umbrellas, to carts to haul everything to and from the beach. Christy was able to provide helpful information about island resources and provided us with a great referral for Gulf fishing in Captain Mike Grieg. This is such a wonderful and unique place to stay. I can't decide what I like best about it. It is 1/2 a block to the most gorgeous beach with crystal clear water and no crowds. The sunsets take your breath away. Then you come home to your villa in this unique and well maintained property adorned with white pergolas and fantastic tropical gardens. You can't beat the courtyard with the fountain. And to top it off Christy and Chuck are the most fantastic owner/managers ever! They are so friendly and welcoming. I had three special requests, kind of picky requests, and they fulfilled them immediately and with grace. I have been back twice now and I love it. Truly a tropical paradise. My husband and I recently returned from a two-week stay at Island Garden Villas. We chose this accommodation based on many positive online reviews, and were delighted to see that it lived up to top billing. Our 2-bedroom villa was bright, exceptionally clean, tastefully decorated, well-equipped and as close to the beach as we wanted to be. The mature gardens and courtyard fountain were beautiful and peaceful -- no noisy parties or tobacco smoke. We were able to meet with other guests, but also enjoyed our private patio. I honestly can't think of a negative comment, as the villa fully lived up to our expectations. We hope to return to this same unit next spring if it is available.

What a difference to stay at a condo where the owners are available and actively involved in the care and maintenance on a regular basis. Christy and Chuck are available to their guests, but more imporantly have created an atmosphere of comfort and respect for them. You truly don't need to bring anything but your personal items--they even supply umbrellas! And all of the beach and condo "extras" are clean and well maintained and there is plenty for everyone. Even the laundry area is a pleasure to spend time in! This is the first time we have not stayed directly on the beach, but I didn't even notice it because the condo and grounds are so beautiful and inviting. It is a very short stroll to the beach and this area of the beach is especially nice--wide and clean. The only reason I wouldn't recommend Island Garden Villas is to keep it available for myself and my family!

Let me start by saying this is not just a rental its a piece of home. It exceeded all expectations. It had everything we needed. We cooked most of our meals at the house instead of eating out. So we were able to use the grill they provided and the kitchen is fully stocked.
The villas are directly across the street from the beach and they provide a wagon and all the beach toys to enjoy the sand and surf.
The villa is lovely and the gardens are magnificent. The flowers wer in full bloom and just beautiful. The fountain makes for a relaxing mood to enjoy happy hour with the other guests.
I loved the location, the other guests and all the extras they provided, plus what a bonus to have all my laundry done before I got home.
Thank you again for a much needed and very relaxing vacation. We hope to see you next year. -

The beauty is found in the gardens, a perfect place for that morning coffee, reading books, meditating,or sipping wine and good conversation. The plants and flowers are tastefully arranged around comfortable furniture, patios, and walkways. The beach is so easy to reach, just across the street and on a path. Chuck and Christy have everything you will need to make your beach stay perfect. We loaded the wagon with chairs, umbrella, cooler, towels, all that we needed, they provided! The weather was 80 and sunny everyday! Magnificent sunsets on the beach each evening! We found delightful restaurants for breakfast, but preferred to grill in the evenings. Chuck and Christy have the gift of hospitality. We plan on returning to this piece of paradise!

This was our second stay at Island Garden Villas. On this second stay we brought our children with us and shared two condos. Our stay was over Christmas and we were a little hesitant about having Christmas far from home. Our condos had wreaths on the door, and small Christmas trees at the door. It was lovely as always. The gardens and fountains have a European feel but it is fabulous to have the warm sandy beach just a few yards away. The villas are spotless and very tastefully decorated. We had everything we needed including beach chairs, beach towels, bikes and beach towels. This will always be our Florida destination of choice.

We stayed at Island Garden Villas in July and just had to come back again in September. Usually we rent a two bedroom unit and invite our adult children to come over and stay a few nights. They never take us up on the offer. Finally in July my daughter and her fiancée came over for three days. She could not believe how nice the place was and questioned herself why they have not accepted our invitation before. Now she wants to coordinate with other family members and rent the entire place for a family reunion.
The rooms are clean and spacious and are decorated islandy. All of the essentials including what you will need for the beach or even a bike ride are provided. Chuck and Christy are very friendly and make sure that all of your needs will be met.
The courtyard with the fountain, immaculate grounds makes such a tranquil setting to enjoy your stay. Can't wait go back again.

We stayed at Island Garden Villas Spring Break and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our unit was clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything you would need. Another guest said that all you really needed is a swim suit and he was right. Our kitchen had all the small appliances, dishes, and utensils you could want.
Christy and Chuck really think of everything and it's all so organized and accessible. There are wagons available to take to the beach, bikes, helmets, beach towels, beach chairs and pool toys.
I saved the best for last ... the garden. It is so relaxing to just sit in the courtyard and look at a magazine (also generously supplied) and listen to the fountain. Christy and Chuck work tirelessly to maintain this beautiful, natural oasis and it shows!
We highly recommend Garden Island Villas and found Christy and John to be warm and wonderful, but unobtrusive hosts. -

Left on 08/27/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We travelled as a family of 4, with 2 small daughters, and stayed at the Island Garden Villas for 8 nights. The villa itself was like a home from home, with full kitchen, 2 baths rooms, great comfortable beds and a nice lounge to sit in during the evening. It was like stepping into someones home and staying for a week. In the middle of the villas is a courtyard garden full of tropical plants and pathways leading to the office where there is laundry facilities and all manner of equipment for the beach, balls, buckets, boards etc. The beach is 150ft from the villas and there are garden trolleys that you can take to put the parasol (provided in the villa) and beach stuff in (plus the 2 kids in our case) and take this over to the beach, which is perfect white sand, clean and habitated by numerous types of wild birds, fasinating to watch. We enjoyed days on the beach, returning to wash off with the cool showers outside the villas, perhaps with a dip in the hot tub which was always on and hot. We might them spark up the communal gas grill and eat outside until dark. Christy and Chuck (the owners)were around attending to the villas, and were helpful and interesting to talk to. We felt entirely comfortable in seeing them daily and they were always willing to offer help and advice. Although we went in off season, most businesses on the Island were open, I would particularly recommend Slims place on Gulf Drive, which looks like a regular bar but does great food and a decent range of draft beers.
To conclude I would recommend the island garden villas without reseervation, for families, couples or anyone who wants to chill out and relax. -

We have vacationed on anna Maria Island many times but our stay at the Garden Villas was the best! These quiet tropical villas with their magnificent and manicured gardens provide a breathtaking retreat that calms the spirit and soothes the nerves. The location near the beach and shopping is perfect and the rooms are immaculate. What's more, Christy and Chuck are the consummate hosts. They provided every detail to make our stay pleasant and comfortable from fluffy towels and beach equipment to hand cream in the bath and spices in the kitchen. After a day on the beach there is nothing better than sipping a cool beverage by the bubbling fountain while enjoying the ambiance of twinkilng lights and soft music! We look forward to returning again and and have already booked our next stay!

Beautiful foliage and a touch of paradise including serenity and tranquility began our experience at Island Garden Villas. Cleanliness is also at the top of the list. The conveniences were numerous: laundry room near, any beach item you would want, bicycles to ride, computer hook-up, hot-tub, outdoor grill. Just all the conveniences of a home away from home plus more describe the paradise we experienced. Christy & Chuck gave us a warm welcome as though we could have been family and encouraged us to please let them know should we have a need of anything else. Truly, a recommended Five-Star stay!

We walked into our place and were overwhelmed with the cleanliness and comfort. It smelled clean, not musty like so many other places. With about a minute to the beautiful beach, it was perfect for us. Having beach chairs, towels, boogie boards, an umbrella, and best of all, a big wagon to carry it all in was a bonus. The grounds were beautiful, and Chuck and Christy were working on them every day. We liked Holmes Beach and anna Maria Island better than other islands in the Tampa area. It was laid back and not quite so commercial. Sarasota was an easy trip to some really nice shopping. We would return to Island Garden Villas any time.

We had the most wonderful time at Island Garden Villas on anna Maria Island. The villa (Hibiscus) was perfect; adorable, private, and spotless. The gardens and fountain were amazing! The villa was right next to the beach and within walking/biking distance to everything. Bikes, beach items, etc were all available at no cost. Chuck and Christy made us feel so welcome and were available for any help or questions. The returning guests were fun and friendly - we absolutely loved everything! Washer and dryers were not in the villa which would have been more convenient, but were on site which worked fine. Overall, we chose the perfect vacation spot to celebrate our anniversary!

Left on 02/11/2011 for a stay in January 2011
Our family has been visiting Florida in January for several years. We were delighted that our instincts about Island Garden Villa were right on the money.
We had a few special needs as we were traveling with a 3 year old and a 6 month old. Christy and Chuck made sure that we had everything we needed at the unit upon our arrival and in storage we found a ton of beach toys for the days to come!
Although the weather sometimes was a bit chilly (even for Chicago folk!) it was great to take advantage of the hot tub and settle in to a spotless, cozy abode.
We had some random requests that were attended to at Christy and Chuck's earliest convenience (including a late night call to ask where the nearest ER was!) I couldn't give a higher rating for service!
Although the Villa was completely full we didn't see many of the other renters. It was a peaceful, beautiful place steps away from the ocean, and it felt as close to home as one could feel being 1000 miles away!

When we arrived and entered our villa it felt like we were not in the us at all it felt like maybe we took the wrong plane and ended up in the Keys somewhere. The villa we stayed in was furnished just right and very clean. The beach I mean the Gulf of Mexico was just a stroll across the street down a sanded path covered with Florida greenery and flowers gave a peek a boo look at the Gulf as you walked along it and then it opened up into this amazing panoramic of ocean, sky and white sand beach that dazzled the mind we spent hours enjoying it. The folks that own the Villa's made us feel right at home and at ease with provided all we needed during our stay they are wonderful people. I plan on returning to Island Garden Villa's but next time I will bring my husband for sure.

After searching almost every property available on the island that allows cats we chose Island Garden Villas. From the moment I talked to Christy, I knew it was a special place that she & her husband Chuck took great pride in! We were not disappointed at all. The villa was clean, well equipped and was tastefully decorated to suit the beach vibe! At first I was reluctant to get a place without a pool. However, we were not disappointed at all. The beach access was directly across the street through the adoring Seagrapes and to the less crowded strand of beach! After spending the day in the water, shelling, walking, watching the birds and sunsets it felt great to jump in the hot tub. Although not as hot as I normally like, it was still refreshing (and clean) to my surprise! Some of the other guests preferred it the temp that it was set on but I ended up being satisfied! Kudos to Christy & Chuck. The grounds are gorgeous and well kept up! I love the tropical foilage and took a million pictures of the flowers and plant life and I'm even a native Floridian!!! Oh, and we never get tired of seeing Dolphins and Manatees. We saw several of both in the Gulf during out stay. That's always an added bonus!

we had had a good idea about this villa from the previous reviews and pretty much everything that were said in those reviews are true. Christy and Chuck, the owners of this villa are very nice and they made sure that our stay at the villa was comfortable and relaxing. The place is exactly the same as you see in the pictures of this villa. Beautiful garden and nice rooms. The beach is only 2 minutes walk from the villa. The beach is beautiful, calm and water. Just like the pictures of the beach on the Villa's website and brochure. Our daughters who are 13 and 9 enjoyed the beach very much. They didn't mind that there wasn't a pool in the villa as the beach was just so nice, they didn't need a pool. It was a lovely beach vacation place and we definitely would like to go back and stay at this villa again.

This was our third time staying at the beautiful Island Garden Villas, and again, we came away refreshed and re-energized. Everything we needed to enjoy our getaway was provided by Chuck and Christy, the gracious hosts of this peaceful mecca. Like many people, we come to this area of Florida for the fabulous beaches and the blue-green Gulf waters. "Our" beach is not only gorgeous, with fine white sand and lots of seashells, but it is also the perfect place to watch the breathtaking sunsets! And it is rarely crowded! Watching for dolphins is a favorite pastime, and on our most recent visit, we saw several manatees as well! When we can tear ourselves away from the beach, we love to just hang out at the villa. Each one we've stayed in has been artfully decorated to give the ambiance of our own private "beach house". We've never stayed anywhere else where our expectations based on the brochure and the website have actually been exceeded! Not just the villas, but also the courtyard, which is a tropical haven to be enjoyed in solitude or chatting with other guests. We've driven the coast from St. Pete to Venice, and won't think of staying anywhere else but anna Maria Island, and definitely nowhere else but the Island Garden Villas!

We had an awesome time at Island Garden Villas and Anna Maria Island 05/14/2010 ~ 05/21/2010. Island Garden Villas is a wonderful place to stay,Chuck and Christy are wonderful hosts and either on site or easily reached for any questions or concerns. The villas are situated around a beautifully landscaped courtyard with a fountain in the center. There is a gas grill for guests to use,a very nice hot tub and a shower outside to rinse sand and sunscreen off before entering your villa. Also they have on site laundry, beach gear(chairs, umbrellas, towels, wagons, etc.),bikes and fishing poles. They offer one bedroom, one bath or two bedroom two bath villas and each one has a private patio area. We have been there three times and stayed in three different villas and each one has been just as nice as the last. They have full kitchens with a dinning area,a nice living area, which has a tv,movies to watch and a few games to play if you like. They also have free wireless internet, which I took advantage of to send pictures and chat with family back home,a folder full of things to do in the area and places to eat and a guest journel to read about other guests experiences and to write your own.
The island offers many things to do from parasailing,jetsking/boat rentals as well as scooter or golf cart rentals and charters for fishing or site seeing to name a few. There are also many resturants, small shops(some within walking distance), and a grocery store. Pretty much anything you need. And they have a trolly service to get you to and from anywhere on the island.
It's a beautiful, quiet, relaxing place just a very short walk to a beach that is used mainly by people from the villas and condos around it and not the general public. I think these are the things we like most and why we keep coming back. And the thing we like the least is saying good-bye

Carbondale, IllinoisThe most comfortable, enchanting place we have ever stayed
Left on 09/08/2009 for a stay in August 2009
My husband I decided to take a last minute trip to Anna Maria Island and
while looking for a place to stay, we were overwhelmed with the number of
choices. It is always a fearsome thing to book a new place and wonder if it
will turn into a vacation nightmare, but we were so delighted with our stay
at Island Garden Villages it could not have worked out better.
First of all, the hosts Chuck and Christy are very welcoming,
accommodating and helpful. When we arrived we were amazed at the
enchanting beauty of the villas and the courtyard gardens.
Then walking into our villa was wonderful -- it was bright, clean,
beautifully decorated, and oh so comfortable. Everything we needed was
there in the villa, and there was also a separate laundry area with all sorts of
beach toys and bikes, magazines, etc. The kitchen in the villa had
everything we needed for home cooking too.
It was quiet, which we really needed, and our privacy was respected.
At night, after a long day, we would look out our French doors at the
gardens lit up with magic. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Very restoring.
The villa was just a walk across a street to a beach path and the Gulf, and
we loved the location. It was perfect for us. The beaches there were quiet
and beautiful, offered perfect swimming, and one night we saw dolphins
swim right by us.
We also spent time eating out at Hurricane Hanks -- very good shrimp,
Euphemia Haye on LongBoat Key -- the best desserts in the world, The
Island Creperie -- the best buckwheat crepes and delicious French dinners,
and Ginny’s and Jane E’s to get sandwiches, quiches, etc. and fresh
cinnamon buns. There were fun antique stores and shells shops too.
There's so much to do in the area, not only on Anna Maria, but on the other
keys as well, and it is a gorgeous drive into Sarasota.
We had such a good time we can't wait to go back. We want to thank our
hosts Chuck and Christy for providing us such a beautiful place to stay. It
was the perfect retreat for us -

And after a day at the beach, or shopping, or visiting the local spa for a massage, you can relax in the wonderful hot tub that's available to the guests there. Chuck and Christy have thought of everything to make your stay even better by having bicycles, beach chairs, beach toys, wagons to load your stuff in all available for the guests. This is definitely a first class place and we will definitely go back for another stay. You just can't miss with Island Garden Villas. Take a look at their website. You'll be hooked and you won't regret it.

SwedenIsland Garden Villas - our second home
Left on 08/06/2009 for a stay in May 2009
We love Island Garden Villas on Anna Maria Island, Florida. It is our "second
home". We come back every year. Christy and Chuck are the most adorable
hosts, always so helpful and warm. The villas are wonderful each one, we
have stayed in four of them. They are all wonderfully decorated and you get a
strong feeling of beeing home. The garden is so peaceful with its hundreds of
flowers, palmtrees and plants and we have also met people there who have
become our friends. The beach only a two minutes walk from the villas is so
lovely, both during the days with the white sand and warm sea and the
evenings, with its beautiful sunsets. We always want to return. See you next
May again, Christy and Chuck!

We recently returned from our fourth visit (12 days) to Island Garden Villas. The owners, Chuck and Christy, are such friendly hosts and they strive to make sure you have the perfect holiday.
The units are beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean, and contain all items needed for housekeeping and cooking. There are beach umbrellas, toys, chairs, and beach towels for your use, even a little wagon to take everything to the beach, which is only a short walk, literally steps, across the street. Crossing the street is not a problem as this is the quieter end of Anna Maria Island, a residential neighbourhood. At night, there is very little noise from traffic.
The large fountain in the middle of the courtyard, with it's tinkling water sounds, aids in the sense of calmness and coolness. The lovely gardens and courtyard provide tranquil shade to spend time reading, eating your meals, or chatting with other quests, a favourite pastime of ours!
There are shops and a large grocery store located a short drive away, less than 10 minutes. Also, if you don't want to cook your own meals, there are numerous restaurants on the Island, in all price ranges.
We find Island Garden Villas to be the ideal place for a beach vacation offering total relaxation in a beautiful setting. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else! -

This is the third time I spent Thanksgiving week with a friend at Island Garden Villas. The lush gardens and the tastefully decorated apartments (each one is different) offered ample opportunities for relaxation, meditation, and fun. The kitchens are so well equipped that we found all the gadgets necessary for the new recipes we were trying out that week.
Sitting on the porch or in the courtyard was always relaxing. The sound from the water fountain and the background music (very subtle) created a soothing atmosphere. On cold evenings, the hot tub and the gas fire place created enough warmth to feel cozy and comfortable outside.
The days at the beach were easy and comfortable, since the owners provide beach chairs and towels and even bicycles for those inclined to use them.
It is obvious that the owners care very much about the garden, villas, and most of all, about the guests. One gets a feeling of a "home" rather than just a vacation place--one can socialize or withdraw in whatever measure one prefers. The perfect place for people who try to escape from a hectic or challenging life life and long for a quiet and serene surroundings to relax. -

This was our second stay at Island Garden Villas and we have already booked our stay for next year. We love the immaculate villas and beautiful gardens. Everything is provided to help make our stay special. The beach is beautiful and never crowded. Most importantly, Christy and Chuck are wonderful hosts. We will continue to recommend Island Garden Villas to anyone traveling to Florida.

I only have one hesitation in recommending Island Garden Villas as the most immaculate, tranquil, warmly welcoming, ideally-located and wondrous place to make a home for two weeks. It's that some lucky person books my slot. Because this is such a special place that I fully expect to bring my family back for many years to come.
So, taking a deep breath, here goes...
Accommodation: utterly spotless and beautifully decorated, stocked with every conceivable comfort and utensil, from dream-inducing beds to a giant BBQ, from Wifi to a hot-tub. The gardens are immaculate, stunning and tended daily by the warm, discreet, gentle, perfectionist owners, Chuck & Christy.
Evenings in the courtyard, the fountain tinkling and the lights twinkling, are heavenly.
Location: Only 120 paces from the whitest, sugary-sand 6-mile stretch of beach imaginable. Grab one of the little beach trailers, pop in your parasol, beach chairs, floats, raffia mats, coolers, buckets and spades (ALL provided) and walk through the Secret Path to the sandy strand and feel your cares and your worries simply fall away.
Watch pelicans dive, dolphins bob lazily, (and the local osprey catching dinner), all the while staring at the azure blue of the Gulf Coast. It is utterly magical.
Local Amenities: Simply everything you need -from supermarkets to local craft shops. Great restaurants abound, from fine dining to ice cream parlours (special mention for 'The Sandbar', 'The Sun House' - and 'Peaches' for breakfast). Cinema nearby too.
Shopping: An outlet mall in Ellenton, International Plaza in Tampa and the Millennium Mall in Orlando should keep even the most ardent shopaholic satisfied.
Attractions: If you want to 'do' Disney, Universal Studios and Seaworld, etc in Orlando (all hugely expensive!), then it's 2 hrs by car, but do yourself a favour - the rides are scarier and the prices more reasonable at Busch Gdns in Tampa, only 45 minutes away.

Left on 05/11/2009 for a stay in June 2008
We are a family from Germany and stayed at Island Garden Villas
twice. Both times we were thrilled with the hospitality of our hosts
Christy & Chuck as well as the wonderfull location with the beach
being so close by...
Each time we could enjoy a different villa, which were both most
tastefully furnished and offered all the convenience you can
imagine.
Also we were very impressed with the garden situated around the
fountain where we enjoyed most relaxing hours.
Christy and Chuck provide beach chairs, bycicles, boogie boards
and other toys for children to play with at the beach which we and
our 7-year-old son appreciated very much.
We are definitely planning on coming back and have already highly
recomended the Island Garden Villas to our friends in Europe... -

MASSACHUSETTSANOTHER GREAT VACATION
Left on 05/08/2009 for a stay in April 2009
FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS WE HAVE BEEN COMING TO THE VILLAS. WE RETURN YEAR AFTER YEAR FOR A FEW SIMPLE REASONS. VALUE-YOU GET A FULL KITCHEN AND CAN COOK ALL MEALS AT THE VILLA. THIS CAN SAVE YOU A 1000$ OVER THE WEEK. CLEANLINESS-CHUCK AND CRISTY MAINTAIN THE PROPERTY FROM THE INSIDE OUT. THE LEVEL OF CLEANLINESS IS FAR BEYOND ANY OTHER PLACE WE HAVE STAYED. COMFORT-FROM THE MINUTE WE ARRIVE IT IS PEACEFULL. IT IS ALWAYS VERY QUIET AT NIGHT. YOU CAN SIT ON YOUR DECK AND ENJOY THE BIRDS AND A LITTLE BREEZE. THE BEDS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE AND THE SOFA IS GREAT TO. AND WE CAN NOT FORGET THE HOT TUB. THIS IS BOUND TO MAKE YOU FELL LIKE YOU ARE A NEW PERSON.
WE DRIVE DOWN EVERY YEAR WITH 3 LITTLE ONES, STOP IN GEORGIA,STOP IN DISNEY RESORTS, AND THEN THE VILLA FOR THE WEEK. WE ARE STILL TRYING TO FIND PLACES TO STAY IN GEORGIA AND DISNEY THAT COMPARE TO THE VILLAS.
OUR THREE LITTLE ONES LIKE TO PLAY AROUND THE FOUNTAIN AND WE LOVE TO COOK ON THE GRILL. WE LOVE THE BEACH, IT'S A 1 MINUTE WALK TO THE BEACH.
WE RECOMEND THE "SANDBAR" RESTRAUNT AND THE "WATERFRONT". THERE IS ALSO A GOOD MEXICAN PLACE ON THE ISLAND "TORTILLA BAY".
THERE ARE GREAT SHOPS AND ICE CREAM PLACES ON THE ISLAND.
IN CLOSING IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A QUIET RELAXING PLACE TO STAY THAT IS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE THIS IS THE BEST AROUND. -

A dear and longime friend(from Louisville,KY)and I have stayed at the Villas for the past 3 years during Thanksgiving week. We have stayed in the area for 8 years and found The Villas while driving around. We stopped, looked, and were so impressed with the accomodations(you need bring nothing but clothes)and garden setting but even more so with Chuck and Christy--such delightful hosts. We are a nurse and teacher--both with high stress people jobs so peacefulness and quiet are #1 priorities. Both of us are avid readers and the environment is so conducive to reading or just being--if you don't get too relaxed and fall asleep--but that is OK too. Love the kitchens--even better after surprise changes last year--we cook most meals in and enjoy eating in the courtyard (wonderful gas grill)or on the porch(a must for leisurely breakfasts and paper reading). Music, garden, and fountain are so relaxing--wonderful for painting or sketching or sewing--never enough time for all we bring to do!! The hot tub is wonderful--especially if cool weather and then wine and treats by the gas fire pit--an evening ritual. Two bedrooms and bathrooms are great.Furnished beautifully and makes one feel so at home. There is even a cat which we both love and helps us miss ours a little less. We look forward all year to going back--actually seems like going home. We know where to get groceries, movies, and wine. An easy trip and vacation--so little preparation. Have a tradition of grouper sandwich as soon as we get there at a waterfront restaurant. Lots of art galleries and shops in the area. Beach is quiet and usually not crowded. A supurb retreat for old friends to catch up, eat, drink, and rejuvenate. We are counting the days till November when we will arrive again to PARADISE. Each trip we pick a word to describe the trip--SERENITY--ENCHANTMENT (Xmas decorations are stunning and different yearly-a fairy land)--BLISS. Not enough can be said how gracious Chuck and Christy are--we're coming home

Left on 05/05/2009 for a stay in August 2008
We have stayed at Island Garden Villas (IGV) three times and loved it each time. Anna Maria is a great little town with a lot to do, but it is not touristy. A great mix of nice restaurants and hole in the wall bars. IGV is across the street from the beach, down a short path full of foliage. The owners of the villas are very nice people that go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. The kitchen is stocked with the necessities (pots, pans, silverware, etc.) and the villas are nicely decorated and up to date. We also had access to a storage area with beach chairs, toys, wake boards, etc.. Above all, it is one of the cleanest places we have eve stayed and this is VERY important to us. They have also done an amazing job landscaping the property with tons of native plants and flowers. It is nice to sit by the fountain in the evening while cooking on one of the provided grills. We plan to go back to Island Garden Villas and highly recommend it!

The villas are beautifully decorated and very well maintained. Chuck and Christy are wonderful hosts and each year I'm amazed with new things they've added to make the vacation more enjoyable. Their attention to details is amazing. I highly recommend staying at Island Garden Villas-you won't be disappointed!

We went to Anna Maria Island in November 2007 for the first time we had no accomadation pre-booked and went into the Chamber of Commerce for some advice. They gave us a few options and some information we liked the look of Island Garden Villas from the leaflet so we phoned Chuck and went to have a look at their villas. We were very impressed with the decor as soon as we walked in and arranged to stay there for a few days but ended up staying longer. Chuck and Christy were so welcoming and not only that they think of everything to make your stay so relaxing. The facilities are extremly good, they have a laundry room were there are beach chairs, brollies, sun tan cream, fishing rods, push bikes there is not much that they have not thought of for your comfort. We enjoyed our stay so much that as you can see we returned the following year. All i can say is that it is the best part of paradise that we have found and we will no doubt return. In fact we should maybe keep it to ourself how good the villas are.

Left on 05/02/2009 for a stay in July 2007
My wife, daughter and I have stayed at Island Garden Villas twice,
the first time in 2006 and again the following year. Both occasions
have proved, without question, to be the best family holiday we
could have wished for.
Anna Maria Island is a wonderful place, the property is immaculate
and the warmth of the welcome we've received from the hosts,
Chuck and Christy, is the icing on the cake.
The pristine beach and blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico are a small
stone's throw from the villas. It's also home to manatees, dolphins
and turtles. What more could you ask for from a vacation?
We've been unable to return to AMI for the past two years but we're
counting the days to the time when we can get back there.
For those who care about the environment and want to share in the
earth's beauties, this is one place not to miss.
But please don't all rush there at once because we don't want the
island to be overrun with people :-)

What a wonderful place to just "be" - the gardens are not only beautiful but very relaxing to just hang out, read a book or visit with friends. The units themselves are very nice and comfortable--feels like we are at home. Christy and Chuck have thought of everything you would need - beach chairs, beach toys, and even the latest magazines to read while relaxing on the beautiful beach. Friends at work have been going there for years and we are glad to have found this little spot of heaven on earth. It is the way Florida used to be when I lived there as a child and look forward to returning each year...

This was our third time at Island Garden and as always we had a wonderful time. Christi and Chuck are such great hosts. We loved the christmas tree in the court yard and the wreath on the door. How thoughtful. The villas have everything you need and are very nicely furnished. The beach is just across from Island Garden and not very crowded. No need to buy beach chairs, magazines and umbrellas. It is all there for you. We are planning to bring our grandkids down for Christmas this year and are looking forward to our visit.
