Very easy walk to everything. Felt safe and secure in this beautiful unit on the 23rd floor. Quiet building which was perfect for our trip. Free parking was an additional perk.

This condo has it all including a rooftop pool and rooftop grill. The condo was immaculately clean and the owner very responsive to any inquiries. The view from the condo was breathtaking. The condo is located in a very nice area of Honolulu. Two thumbs way up for this condo. Condo was well worth the money and the owner was very quick to return the security deposit. Directions and instructions about the condo were very complete and did not leave you guessing about anything you needed. We had the most relaxing vacation we ever had.

New York City, New YorkVery Good Deal on a Nice apartment!
Left on 09/19/2011 for a stay in August 2011
My girlfriend and I liked everything about this place. We saved a fortune shopping at the grocery store and using the kitchen, which was clean and well-stocked. Every morning we saw rainbows from the living room window on the 23rd floor. The place is nice and quiet, and a cool breeze blows through when all the windows are open. There's a laundry room and a pool that we jumped into a few times.
The biggest plus is the secure parking. You get your own spot in a garage with a security gate. Parking is scarce and car theft is common in Waikiki, so that really gave us peace of mind.
The owner is easy to communicate with.
The elevator's a little slow, but that's about it. If you don't mind walking a few blocks to the beach, this place is a really great deal. -

SeattleFirst-time renting! Scary going in... An excellent happy ending!
Left on 05/28/2011 for a stay in April 2011
My husband and I have been to Oahu many times and planned a trip in 2011 for late-April/early May. I researched different ways for our stay and found hotel prices were crazy and decided on trying a vacation rental. We found this 1-bedroom unit on Tripadvisor.Com. We've never rented a vacation unit and was a bit apprehensive since you hear horror stories.
The posting on Tripadvisory didn't have a lot of reviews, but I took a chance and sent an inquiry via the site's email form. Within 24-hours, the owner (Elaine) responded and provided me with rates and availability of our stay. Throughout the whole email process Elaine was very quick to respond. We went ahead and booked the unit for seven days (6 nights).
Elaine sent us detailed instructions a week before our arrival date so we knew what to expect. On the day of our arrival, we had to pick up our rental car so it took us a bit of time arriving to the unit which we texted to Elaine and her on-site contact.
The unit is located in the aloha Lani building which is a bit dated but very clean and had three elevators which serviced approximately 27-28 or so floors. One of the elevators was taken down during our stay due to a maintenance issue but we never had to wait more than 3-minutes to go up/down. The unit comes with a dedicated parking spot in the "detached" parking garage which is accessed via an outdoor walkway. The free included parking was a major bonus and it was always very easy for my husband and I to access the building, as well as the garage at any hour of the day.
The building is directly across the street from the ala Wai Canal and only 2-3 blocks walk from Waikiki Beach. It's a quiet unit and the neighbors were almost non-existent! The views from the living room are spectacular and we were able to watch a thunderstorm roll through on our last night there! The location itself is fantastic!! Only a block away from the "Rodeo Drive" of Waikiki--a variety of shopping for everyone! Many aBC/convenient stores nearby as well as restaurants so you never go hungry! My husband and I were able to bring little in clothes since there is a coin-operated laundry facility on the 7th floor. The onsite pool was also a hit and we took advantage of that every day!
Elaine has taken great care to provide all the necessities in the unit that anyone could want! From beach chairs, kitchen cookery, soap in the bathroom and even a fold-away crib, this unit is definitely a no-brainer. Also, the unit has been updated from what is shown in the photos: an air-conditioning unit was added in the bedroom which was a nice surprise (not very loud) and the dining table was replaced with a smaller/extendable table which is great! Although the unit sleeps 4, I would suggest adding more to/using the existing cushions on the fold-out futon in the living room as it seems to have gotten a lot of use and has lost its "cushiness"--you can really feel the wood underneath the futon. Other suggestions: for those with a rental car and staying more than 3 days, head over to the Costco in Hawaii Kai your first/last day for inexpensive gifts and also stock up the unit's fridge with goodies during your stay!
For those unsure about renting this unit, please do not hesitate! I'm glad we took the chance and booked it! Also, we received our security deposit back after the 14-day waiting period (I have to apologize to Elaine for the badgering emails and text messages re our deposit as I thought we'd get it back after 1-week but I didn't read the instructions correctly--my error!). -

We traveled to Oahu with our toddler daughter to attend a wedding and feel extremely fortunate to have found this unit! All of our potential concerns (i.e. how can it be so inexpensive? Is it legit?!) went out the door when we walked in the door of this great unit. The owner was excellent to work with in every way -- the reservation process was seamless and we had our deposit back within a week of returning home.
If you need a ton of space, this unit isn't for you; however, who goes to Hawaii to spend time indoors? The unit is comfortable and well-apportioned. From the beach chairs and mats in the closet to the kitchen stocked with dishes and utensils, it truly felt like a home away from home.
One of the best parts of this unit was location... it's within walking distance of everything in Waikiki, while being on the quieter ala Wai side. The view of the city and golf course from the living room is very nice... watching storms roll down the hill was great.
The property is clean, well-maintained, matched every picture, and has been recently updated. There's a Safeway just down the road, and at least 15 aBC stores within a 5 minute walk. We had some friends staying at local hotels who got half the unit for three times the price, and had to pay $20 parking on top of their hotel room.
If you have a trip to Honolulu planned and this unit is available, book it before someone else does! We certainly have been recommending it to everyone we know.
Pros: Location, price, great value, clean and well-maintained unit, secure building, great view of the mountains, in-unit Wireless, air conditioning, no vermin.
Cons: Kind of small, older building. -

Maui, HILove the view and value of this nicely furnished unit.
Left on 11/05/2009 for a stay in February 2009
This unit has wall to wall and ceiling to floor picture windows on the 23rd floor of the building. The view of the Koolau mountains, the golf course, and the city lights at night were wonderful. The kitchen had all the "at home" gadgets that one could want. Quite a home away from home. Nice decorum and art. A good central location in Waikiki. Liked the large roof top pool with cooking cabana and picnic tables with shaded pavilions. Having parking included was a real plus, rather than having to pay added on daily rates. Had a great vacation in a great place.
