Stayed at the Ilikai, in suite 1227.
Dirty, moldy aC unit, made the apartment smell.
All the dishes smelled and were spotty so we had to rewash everything before we used them.
Just a general musty, mildewy unpleasant environment.
Old and dated everything.
Gross paint all over the shower floor and it was chipping so it accumulated on the drain every time we showered.
The bed was absolutely unbelievably uncomfortable. It had a huge noticeable dip on one side and we had terrible sleeps.
The service took over a business day after each email to get back to us so the bed issue could not be resolved till we were checked out, and they refused to reimburse us some of the money, saying instead that it was good enough that they were replacing the bed for the next guests. Really, this is just an admission that we stayed in a place with a sub-par bed and more proof that we shouldn't have had to pay!
Wouldn't recommend them; there are a lot of other suites for rent in the Ilikai and they're way better - we stayed at one the week before this place and loved it.
There's some things that you can overlook with the understanding that you are paying a lower price, but alii places are not cheaper than other similar rentals in the building so you can definitely do better. I would have been OK with the outdated facilities, the disgusting aC (because we just turned it off and left the windows open), and the general lack of spotlessness, but the issue with the bed just pushed it too far. It's not like this place is $50 a night; it's still good money and guests shouldn't be taken advantage of and pushed around just because the money was already paid up front. -

I have rented this unit numerous times through Alii Beach Rentals, always a good experience. Shelly and Jessica are great! The unit is in a wonderful location and the view is incredible. Downside... the shower is DREADFUL and the lack of dresser or drawer space for clothes needs major improvement. Phone book would be nice. Overall, very nice unit.

Great Condo!
Left on 09/12/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We were very happy with our stay in this condo. It was very clean and had a wonderful balcony which we used quite a bit! It was mostly quiet, and even though the room is located next to the elevators it was rarely a problem (and I'm a light sleeper). The beds were super comfy (VERY nice). The only minor drawback we found was that it's located at the far end of Waikiki, so whilst there's less crowds, the beaches aren't quite as nice in the main area. Would definitely recommend to others and would definitely stay here again!

Most places will claim to have an Ocean View at Waikiki, but our room at the Ilikai was in the same general location as the Hilton, which was awesome! The rental company was easy to work with, and helped us check in a bit early so we didn't have to lug our bags around Waikiki for several hours. Highly recommended.

Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in July 2012
My friend and I stayed at this condo for 14 days. The actual style of the condo was quite pleasant although there were several factors that were not.
1. Light shing through a glass mesh window from the landing used for garbage collection etc. This lead to light through the curtains into the small hours of the night/morning. Noise was also a factor from employees of the hotel using this landing .
2. Although the beds were stated as Queen, they were in fact double sized matresses on a king wooden base. The bases were a hazard with the corners very sharp resulting in bruising to our shins (both of us). The matresses themselves were of a poor quality that combined with wooden platform resulted in a very uncomfortable sleep.
3. Although the quality of the towels supplied to the condo were of a very good quality - the linen supplied to the beds was of a sub standard condition, fitted sheets that were too small, cotton/polyester that is not a good combination in the tropics - cotton sheets would have been much better. Also due to several layers of matress protetors being on the beds and the ill fitting sheets - this lead to the sheets moving all over the bed during the night overall rating of beds & linen = 3/10!
Although a kitchen is supplied - there is little room for pantry items to be located - really needed a little cupboard to place non-perishables in.
Would only recommend this condo for two people, who don't really want to be in the heart of things - a little too way out of Waikiki and the daily activities. -

Great location next to Hilton Hawaiian Village. food, shopping, beach, lagoon, are all a short walk. Condo recently remodeled, new granite counters, floor tiles and Large Kitchen appliances. All of the small kitchen appliances were new including blender for cocktails. Dishwashing liquid and cleaners provided. Iron, Ironing board, and small vaccum were all in room. Tv very poor picture quality not sure if it was the tv or cable. We enjoyed our stay and will go back. Very Good bang for the buck. Parking was $25 a day.

We had a great experience. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Valet parking adds $25 per day to cost. All new kitchen appliances small and large. Beds were fullsize not Queens. TV reception was poor. We are booking another stay next year with Ali Beach. Unless you are the type that just has to find fault with everything you should have a great stay.

Napier, OO, New ZealandAmazing location, great accommodation
Left on 05/28/2012 for a stay in May 2012
This accommodation was great.
The location really makes it something special.
Apartment 2027 Ilikai, is really nice.
We were really happy with this for the 9 nights we stayed here.
Pro's:
- Location (near Hilton lagoon fireworks, great sunsets, sheltered from wind, marina & ocean views)
- Quiet (no real noise from other rooms or lift)
- Tastefully decorated
- Kitchen & amenities were really useful & reasonable quality
- Ilikai hotel in good condition, with nice pool & pleasant staff
Con's:
- Slightly worn (a refresher paint would be all it would take)
- Bed is only a NZ double (NZ queen much wider & longer)
- Property management company pleasant to deal with, however it did take a number of emails to follow a few things up
All in all, I would book this accommodation again in a heartbeat if I was returning to Ohau (Hawaii) & would also recommend others to stay.
A few other things, Hilton ABC better than ABC on corner.
Also Hilton Tropic bar good food, reasonable price with live music in afternoon.
Cheesecake Factory excellent food, great price on main st of Waikiki.
Cheeseburger place near statue on main st of Waikiki also really tasty.
Avoid Egg's n Things, overpriced, budget food & décor...a waste of money & we all felt ill afterwards.
Our overall holiday was amazing & our apartment was a huge part of making this happen! -

Left on 04/08/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We enjoyed staying at 2027 Ilikai. We liked the location and interior. A few things that would have made our stay better are: for a 10 day stay, we had one tiny bar of soap, which we ran out of 3 days into our stay. Also, for a 10 day stay, we could have used more toilet paper. And finally, it would have really made it great if there was access to a BBQ. Thank you. Shannon was quick to reply to my mail to her about the shower head only distributing hot water. She had it fixed right away. Great customer service!

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks for your input. The travel size soap, shampoo, ect. is meant to just get you started. Yes, you will need to take a shopping trip if you did not bring these itmes with you. Also, our cleaners stock 5 rolls of toilet paper, but anything after that, guests will need to purchase on their own. This is very typical when you are renting a vacation rental vs. a hotel room. Take care!

I had to travel to HI for a two week business trip and my girlfriend was coming with me. We wanted to save per diem money by being able to cook in the room, for a reasonable price. The Ilikai was a wonderful experience and the room had a great view of the marina. Shelly, Shannon, and the rest of the rental staff were wonderful to work with. From this room, you get to experience a nightly concert in the courtyard below. The only downside, is that the marina is filled with nightly revelers who get somewhat loud. Sleeping with the door open to get the breeze is not happening until mid-night or so.
I travel a couple of times a year to HI, and am planning on staying there again, if the room is available. -

We stayed at the Ilikai suite 2027 for 8 days. It had great views of the marina and water. The room was clean and well kept. The wifi internet service was good and it was quiet at night. The kitchen had all the necessities for cooking.
It would have been nice if the suite had better lighting, some drawers for clothing and newer pots and pans and utensils.
We would definitely stay there again.Response from Alii Beach Rentals - 02/29/2012

We love staying at the Ilikai! We've stayed at at a different condo before but really like the location. This condo could use a little more storage for clothes and such (it has none) but is very functional. The decorating needs to be freshened up as some of the wallpapering is either missing or loose. Suite was very nice. Good size great well stocked kitchen that had everything we needed beer glasses wine glasses, blender, toaster, dishes, salt and pepper, cleaning products, paper towels. There was even coffee filters and a foam cooler in the closet. Only 2 complaints. Wall paper was pealing off the wall in one spot (quick re-glue needed). Very limited storage space. One small closet that's it. Not one draw in the entire unit.Funny thing is this could easily be addressed by changing out the night table to one with draws and maybe adding a draw under the beds. Overall unit size, decor, condition and location were excellent especially for the price.

We stayed in Ilikai condo unit #2027 for one week and were very pleased with it. It looks exactly how it appears on the Ali'i web site gallery and virtual tour. Very comfortable, organized, clean, sufficiently stocked with clean towels, extra sheets, beach towels and basic kitchen necessities. Having a kitchen really helped us to cut costs on spending money at restaurants. We brewed Kona roasted coffee every morning and it was a perfect way to start the day, sipping on the lanai with the wonderful view of the marina, Magic Island and Ala Moana Beach. The location of the Ilikai is great if you do not want to be among the crowd within the Waikiki Beach area. If you do want to be with the crowd, it's just a short, convenient walk away. We took the Waikiki Airport Shuttle from the airport, but decided to rent a vehicle from Dollar, which is located a few blocks away, at the Hale Koa Hotel. They had great prices and were easy to book with. Parking is surprisingly easy at the Ilikai Marina area. You can valet park at the hotel for $18 per day, or save money parking at the Marina. There are spots that allow 6 hours for free, but keep in mind, it is closed from 10:30pm-5:00am. If your car is parked there within that time, it will get towed! There is another lot within the Marina area that has a great price of $5 for 10 full hours Mon-Fri. Parking availability is another benefit to staying at the Ilikai as opposed to being in the heart of Waikiki. What I appreciate most about booking with Ali'i, is the outstanding, professional service and attention I received from Shelly (the condo manager). She answered all of my questions in a quick and timely manner, she returned my few calls immediately and she was very nice and friendly. I did a lot of research on condos in Honolulu and never received the same great service as I did from Shelly. My review comes with high recommendation to anyone considering this condo. The property location is convenient its within walking distance to beaches and shopping centers. If walking is not the thing for you, there are buses, trolleys and cabs right outside the property. car and scooter rentals are everywhere around the area. I recommend the Big Kahuna Rentals for motorcycles and bikes (super friendly).. The room in itself has an amazing view and all the home appliances that you'll need to live very comfortably but it does need a little bit of maintenance as far as the wall paper (peeling)other than that the room is very clean and spacious.
