      Nostalgic Condo With Modern Style

Left on 05/10/2013 for a stay in May 2013

The condo was in mint condition and the perfect location on Waikiki. You can walk most everywhere on Waikiki Beach and the view of the ocean and harbour was fantastic. Would definitely come back again.

Left on 05/10/2013 for a stay in May 2013

We enjoyed our stay in Waikiki. The view was great & the condo is in a great location. Our last night there we were in for a treat... fireworks over the lagoon! We would be happy to return for another stay.

      Absolutely Beautiful..Loved it!

Left on 04/18/2013 for a stay in March 2013

There were only two issues that I had one was when we arrived we were not given the correct code to get in the condo so we had to wait outside of the room with all of our luggage and food that we purchased for our six day stay. The second was 1/2 of shower door was missing - my only concern about that is the water damage under the tile in the bathroom if they do not already have it. These were minor issues...When we walked in and opened the drawn curtains and what an INCREDIBLE VIEW. The condo was AWESOME. The experience was nothing but good! Location is PERFECT. Would I recommend this place..ABSOLUTELY! Condo was nice and clean..BEAUTIFUL! We had the most incredible moment coming back from breakfast walking back to the condo..we asked a woman (that was walking along side us) to take our picture only to find out that she was once an owner of 1410 and had raised her kids there, she mentioned how she met Elvis when he stayed there many years ago. What are the chances of something like that happening? Meant to be is what I say, our paths were meant to cross. :) We had friends that have timeshare at the Ilikai came up to see where we were staying and they would come to visit just because they enjoyed our view. Look forward to visiting again. Aloha!

Our stay here was great, even though we were staying in a private condo, the hotel staff were very helpful.Everything we needed was in the room, the location was great being at the quieter end of Wakiki, but close enough to get everywhere easy.I would recommend this condo to everyone, thank you Hawaiian Paradise Retreats

      Ten Days at Ilikai 1410

Left on 11/16/2012 for a stay in November 2012

We stayed at Ilikai Condo 1410 and found the location great. Handy to Beach and Pool and close to bus-stop or walk anywhere in Waikiki. View from the apartment was fabulous, looking out over the marina and bay beyond. Apartment very clean and bathrooms, kitchen great. Six in our group two couples and two children.
I would consider the apartment more suited to a family than two couples because the separation between second bedroom and lounge is open above sliding door and door itself is slatted which limits privacy to an extent. But, still not a big problem. Beds very comfortable.
Overall, I think this was a great choice and we enjoyed our stay, thank you especially to Gloria who was most helpful.

      Great Waikiki Experience

Left on 10/17/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We really enjoyed staying in 1410 Ilikai. The condo was very comfortable with great access to all that Waikiki has to offer. We walked to dinner each night along the beach, watched a great fireworks display, and saw amazing sunsets. Gloria and Suzanne from Hawaiian Paradise Retreats were very both responsive and committed to ensuring we had a wonderful vacation. I recommend without any reservations.

      Roach Motel

Left on 07/13/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Arrived with family of 5 on June 23. For the first four days the condo was infested with roaches. Not 10, not 50, but a lot of roaches, kids were freaked out = strike 1. Complained and the management company sent in an exterminator. Was told he wouldn't fog the unit as long as we were there which is what we wanted as we had kids with us and didn't want everything exposed to the chemicals. What did they do, they fogged the place exposing all of our personal effects, clothing, linens, to the chemicals = strike 2. Upon return home after a 14 day stay we asked that they discount the first four days 50% for the filth we had to live with, answer was no response at all = strike 3. Our experience with the broker Suzanne Shuto was a complete lack of response - no apology, just silence. The company we rented from was Hawaiian Paradise Retreats.

We therefore would caution anyone considering leasing from this company to heed our experience. Perhaps you could insist on a roach clause in your leasing agreement to protect yourselves should you encounter what we did.

Would be perfect without the cockroaches! Ewwwww

Left on 06/03/2012 for a stay in May 2012

The condo was very clean, had a beautiful view, great location.... I thought I had hit the jackpot....UNTIL returning in the evening to find cockroaches everywhere! I have never had to deal with these disgusting things before and my daughter has an irrational fear of just such bugs....she cried at night and we had to sleep with ALL the lights on to keep roaches at bay. I still had to wake up in the middle of the night with a show in hand ready to battle the roaches.... NOT FUN AT ALL!
The place would be PERFECT if they could get the pests under control.
Also, my contract stated that check out was at noon; however, the cleaning service arrived at 11:00 telling us that we had to leave. We were still showering and packing for the trip home and this inteription made us quite uneasy and very rushed....
Other than those two gripes,.. It really is a fantastic condo.
I will not be back until I can be assured that the pest problem has been taken care of.

      Unit 1410

Left on 04/29/2012 for a stay in April 2012

The unit worked well for us, the only problem was with cockroaches. This made my sister feel very uncomfortable going to bed. When I called your office the staff immediately sent someone over with traps. Otherwise the unit is very well laid out, comfortable and the view was just as I saw on the website. The hotel is quiet and for us this is what we wanted.

      Great Place To Stay

Left on 03/25/2012 for a stay in March 2012

Close to everything we needed, Rental car right across the street was very handy. Trolley right out the front door to Waikiki Market and town. This was the first time we booked a vacation rental instead of a hotel. One issue is that there is no where to store our luggage after checkout at 11:am unlike a hotel that can hold it until you are ready to head to the airport.

      Hi The unit is a nice unit and we were happy with it. A couple of comments;
1 The master bath was missing 1 shower door
2 The cleanliness was on first look clean but on closer inspection there were dust bunnies under the beds and furniture.
3 the entrance door needs the hinges to be oiled. It squeaks quite loudly when opened.
4 The kitchen table legs are loose. They have screws that need tightening.

The Shower Was Missing a Door

Left on 01/05/2012 for a stay in December 2011

The fantastic thing about this rental is the amazing view of the marina and the ocean! And it is very easy to get to from inside the Ilikai. And the location is wonderful, as it's just a short walk to ala Moana Mall or about 25 minutes to the heart of Waikiki.

I didn't quite realize that there were no real doors on the bedrooms. Instead, we got sliding closet doors that swung back and forth because there was no track on the floor. Also, the were louvered, so you couldn't even whisper without people in the living room hearing you. And, the floor is not carpeted, which made the condo extremely loud coupled with the closet doors. The sounds amplify. I didn't feel like I had any privacy in the unit because we could hear when someone coughed in the middle of the night, etc. Also, the doors didn't quiet any noise going on in the living room.

The most annoying thing about this rental was the fact that the shower only had one sliding glass door in the master bath. So, you could only protect half of the shower at a time, which meant lots of water got on the floor. My husband and I tried every day to position the door in the right spot to save the floor from flooding, but it never worked. There were no bath mats, either, so we had to use hand towels, which got soaked due to the fact there was only one door. Additionally, the master bath didn't have a hairdryer, which seemed odd.

The kitchen is a nice set-up, it's just missing all the kitchen stuff. My family owns a condo on Kauai and we keep it stocked with all the stuff you'd need to cook a meal at home, which is why people rent condos over hotels. We couldn't even find a cutting board in the kitchen.

This condo would be great for a family with small children who want to be able to hear every move they make. Or with older folks who are hard of hearing.

Left on 04/18/2011 for a stay in April 2011

Overall, wonderful condo and location. Only 2 issues I would bring up: 1) we had trouble w/ the air conditioners, the guest room was very cold and difficult to warm, while the master room was difficult to cool down. Secondly, some of the towels were pretty worn out and dingy. It would also be nice if the Ilikai and pool and valet services could be updated on renters' info; the pool staff gave us a hard time about using the pool because they did not have our names.
