I stayed at the wyndham on a week long vacation with my family this February... The location was excellent with rooms that were clean and comfortable, had some reservations initially about the good reviews on trip advisor, but it was better and beyond my expectations. The only downside is that taxis or transportation cannot park very long in front of property, but overallmit was excellent. Tara at the front desk was very accomodating. We booked our rooms with Chris who was also very nice.

We stayed at the Wyndham for 5 days/4 nights in early January. We had a two bedroom condo that also had a pull out. The condo was very spacious - rooms were big, master has a huge bathroom with separate tub and shower. Large main bathroom with a tub as well. Big living room/dining room area with a large table and a washer and dryer - which was really handy since this was the end of our 2 1/2 week vacation. The location is really good - just walk out the door and you are in the heart of shopping, dining and about a block and half from the beach. If you like action and people watching, it is great. It was easy to get around from there - we had a vehicle so took a drive to the North Shore and also did the Diamond Head hike.
The Wyndham had daily activities that you could participate in if you wanted - guided walks, crafts for kids, hula lessons, movie nights by the pool etc. The staff was very professional and friendly. The main drawback was the pool - the area where it is situated gets very little sun as the hotel is surrounded by tall building and parkades. Also, another annoying thing was that they had to give us the timeshare sales pitch - offering $$ to go listen to the pitch for 2 hours. They did give up eventually.
An unexpected bonus was that if you checked out in the morning and your flight didn't leave until that evening, they offered the use of a hospitality suite to shower, shave and get out of your beach wear. They give you 15 minutes each so for our family of 5 we got the suite for 1hr and 15 min (which really helps with 3 teenage girls). Area felt very safe and easy to navigate.
North shore was awesome - staff gave us great sightseeing tips.
Honolulu cookie company - free samples, my girls loved them
Great dining options, but very busy this time of year 45 to 60 minute waits -

I stayed in a two bedroom at the wyndham waikiki beach walk for 10 nights from 14June as I am a travel agent I have learnt never to expect what I see in brochures or the the Website as this is normally the highest category room. We were 2 couples and when we walked in I was very pleasanly surprised at how it was exactly what I saw on the website but much larger. The unit was spotless, the kitchen fully equipped for cooking, the beds were sooo comfortable. The ensuite in the King room was so large with a corner spa. the other bathroom was also large. The bedrooms were very spacious and had a flat screen in each.We were lucky to get a first floor apartment facing Lewers street, we were watching the shows in the park from our private Lanai (which was very small) but there was 3 of them. There were also units facing the pool but I would not have liked them at all as there is a multi level car park there and the pool was quite small. The position was great only about 7 minute walk from the main Waikik Beach. There was also a beach at the end of Lewers street but we found it very rocky there. There is a nightclub on the grounf floor and I know some people complained from the noise but we never heard anything, but I guess we were lucky to be away from it. I loved my stay at the Wyndham and would suggest it for families or couples. The Staff at Reception were so nice and helpful. Just a warning about the Timeshare repersentatives that have a desk there as you reach the top of the escalator. They are so pushy and offer you tours and vouchers so you can attend one of their sessions where they try and sell u a timeshare property. There were lots of shops and eating places just outside our front door, also a Denny's 24 hour diner a few doors away. Position was perfect and I will definately return next year...
