The condo was absolutely perfect. Well equipped to cook meals there and beautiful finishes. I will absolutely stay again.
A couple things: I read past reviews and the following were not addressed from before.
The pillows were really flat and the lamp closest to the bathroom did still flicker but not constantly.
a couple new items:
the hand towels/washcloths were stained
the shampoo seemed to be watered down to fill the container.
a wiping of the lanai rails free of bird poop would be nice there was a lot
but those are so minor. I already recommended a friend coming to town to check it out. I am local so I will surely be staycationing there again!
Would you recommend this vacation rental to a friend?

The pillows are terrible, you need to replace them. The lamp on the side closest to bathroom, constantly flickers. There are no night tables so awkward for wanting to put things down. The futon sofa kept coming off its hinge. So, there were definately glitches but overall we enjoyed our stay and had a great vacation. The Tv problem was fixed very quickly and i appreciated that! We had a wonderful time at the Ilikai Condo 828. We enjoyed the great access to the beach and the wonderful views from our lanai. We got lucky in that we got to enjoy the fireworks from our lanai not only on the scheduled Friday when we got takeout and sat on the lanai for dinner with a bottle of wine, but we got an extra unscheduled fireworks show on Thurs. due to the Pro bowl party! The concierge of the hotel was very helpful in setting us up for snorkeling events and whale watching. We enjoyed the Hawaiin music in the lobby on Fri and Sat night. We also enjoyed both the food and live music of the bar in the lobby. We had a terrific time and definitely will be returning. Thank you!!

We rented condo 828 for holiday "staycation" We live on Oahu but wanted a easy, fun place to stay for the holidays. From the very beginning the check in and out could not have been easier. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare the food we had brought and the accommodations were very comfortable.
The view was amazing. It was almost like staying at home but with the amenities and location of a great hotel! We will be renting again!

This was the second time we have stayed at this condo in the last two years. It is only the size of a hotel room, but was fine for us. More than two people would be crowded. Condo was neat and clean, dishes and appliances were adequate.
Love the location, close to the ocean.
Nice and clean

We really enjoyed our stay at Ilikai Hotel Condo 828. It has been renovated and is very modern and clean. Everything we needed was there for a great vacation week, including beach equipment. It is also very quiet. It's walking distance to everything. We didn't rent a car.

We stayed at llikai condo 828 for our 25th year anniversary. The view from this condo was awesome. The location was perfect. It was easily accessible and within walking distance to the heart of Waikiki and close to the shopping mall. Our room was clean, spacious, and well maintained. Nearly everything was provided; the only thing missing was a laundry basket. Nevertheless, thank you Kat for arranging all of this for us.
We would highly recommend this condo to others who would like to visit Honolulu.
Wonderful condo with great view!

My daughter and I spent 3 nights in this lovely condo. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The only issue I had was the hot water faucet for the bathroom sink needs to be adjusted. It was so hard to turn that I felt it was going to break off. Not a big deal...should be a easy fix. Would recommend this condo for sure!

My husband and I stayed at the Ilikai Hotel Condo 828 from May 30, 2013 to June 5, 2013. The condo was truly home away from home. We were so comfortable there. Everything was nice, check in and check out was hassle free, the condo itself was neat & clean and in a great location. We could not have asked for anything more. I look forward to coming back and staying here in the future.

This unit was just exactly as pictured! It was very clean and very comfortable - and very quiet. We loved how easy it was to get anywhere from this location. The unit was beautifully updated and when we return to Oahu, we will again stay in this unit! Loved it!

The instructions to access the condo were exact and we gained access without any difficulty. Everything we needed was there-plenty of glasses, plates, cutlery. iron, hair dryer etc. The view of the lagoon and ocean from the balcony was a bonus and great spot to watch the whales and just a pleasant stroll to the main Waikiki Beach. Great eating locally and the Ilikai is a major bus stop for pickups and drop-offs.

This is our 3rd stay at the Ilikai because we like the location and large nature of the rooms and balcony.
This apartment has all inclusions and everything works well.
The only criticism is the fold down bed which has limitations regarding comfort. A standard king would be better.
Otherwise great time had and far superior to a hotel room.

We just returned from our vacation in Waikiki & our stay at the Ilikai Condo (#828) was absolutely wonderful! The view was breathtaking since we were able to see the beach & the lagoon from our lanai/balcony :) Provided with chairs, table & some beach chairs for when we headed to the beach, perfect. Inside was nice decor to make us feel at home, kinda cool tropical feel. Very clean & the bed was comfortable & our two kids slept well & comfy on the futon with linen provided. Nice white clean towels in the bathroom, roomy bathroom with shower. extra toilet paper, soap. Nice little xtra's. The kitchen was great, we cooked a little with pans provided, kitchen utensils, plates, great for some quick home cookin. Big TV for when we did watch, everything worked nicely. Air conditioning worked well when we needed it. The location of the Ilikai is perfect! Great coffee shop downstairs with the freshest brew, just delish! The beach is right outside! great view once you get there of all of waikiki beach & in the distant you can see Diamond Head. The lagoon was great for kids, my kids lived in that lagoon & the ocean for 7 days and loved it. We were able to relax & lay out & enjoy ourselves as the kids played, no worries. We had drinks at the Ilkai bar/grill downstairs in the courtyard, such a nice view of the harbor & beach. The pool was very nice as well, not huge, but just fine. The pool attendants were very kind as we chatted up some talks about the island & great places to hike. Found great little store inside the Ilkai downstairs in the lobby, fair prices & little last minute needs such as drinks, juices, snacks & little fun gifts to bring home. The hotel lobby was very nice with great staff, friendly & always ready to answer some questions about local events or transportation. Can't wait to come back :)

The hotel condo 828 we stayed in had a good floor plan, view, and was clean. It is just perfect for a couple who wants a short comfortable stay. The internet access was great as the log-in instructions were very straightforward. Its surroundings and location is ideal with easy access to shops and restaurants.
The one negative was a beeping sound coming from around the fridge area on the last 2 days of our stay. Did not call to complain nor notify as we did not know who to call besides, we were out of the room most of the time.
Overall, it we had a great experience and would definitely go back again. This we attributed it to Kathleen Petron who provided quality and the right amount of communication from when we first made our reservation till the end of our stay. She made the experience painless and smooth - Mahalo Kathleen, your service and timely communications helped make the stay a wonderful one.

All dealings with Kathaleen and aloha Condos were professional and faultless. We really appreciated the early check in the day we moved condos.
Presentation and cleanliness on arrival was superb. We will be certainly returning on our next stay.
This is our 4th condo booking in the Ilakai Hotel (we like to change apartments to appreciate the different views). The Hotel has a great position only 5-10 minutes walks to either ala Moana Mall or Waikiki in the other direction.
We particularly liked the dedicated high speed WiFi/LaN connection, compared with the poor internet reception from the Hotel server.

Weève stayed at the Ilikai from april 14th to april 20th, 2012. The location of this hotel-condo was absolutely perfect for us. Walking distance to the beach, nice restaurant, mega shopping centre where you can find anything and everything even a Foodland. Being on the 8th floor was giving a perfect view of the ocean. The lanai was well equipped for a quiet diner. The condo was even equipped with 2 beach chairs, beach mat-towels, cooler for picnic and for those with a baby a portable playpen. Absolutely nothing to say negatively about this condo. If ever we plan of going back, this would be our choice again. Thank you for making our Hawaiian holiday a dream come true. Mahalo!

The Condo was well equipped, the bed and futon comfortable, the decor extra beautiful, the view a dream. Our little haven above carved yellow beach and blue sea.

Our family of four ( two adults, two teenagers) was very comfortable staying in room 828 for 16 days in Feb 2012. The ocean view room had a view of the Hilton lagoon and Friday night fireworks.
The room was extremely clean and the beds were comfortable. All the appliances worked; we prepared many meals in the room. Grocery stores are availabe near by and the Ilikai store is reasonably priced for last minute supplies.
Easy walk down the beach to Beach walk and Lewers street. Only a 10-15 minute walk straight down ala Moana to the mall.Bus and trolley stops are right outside the hotel. Wailani Coffee Shop a great local coffee shop a short walk down ala Moana Blvd.
I would definitely stay here again.

We booked our stay at unit 828 through Kathaleen at Hawaiian Vacation Properties. She provided excellent communication and directions which added to our comfort before and during our 6 night stay. The unit has been updated and has all the amenities needed, with the exception of a washer/dryer. But who wants to do laundry on vacation? We found the unit to be very quiet. There is a view of the Hilton lagoon and Waikiki Beach. Easy walking to ala Moana Shopping Center and numerous restaurants to choose from. A Foodland market is also within walking distance and enabled us to cook a few meals during our stay. If one wants to rent a car there are 2 agencies right across the street. We really enjoyed that we could walk in, drop our bags and start to enjoy our vacation.

The condo was good value for the price and was fully equipped. You had a nice view from the balcony and in the evenings you could even see the performances at the Hilton Village. It is next to the elevator, but I had no problems with it, it was quiet. The TV was a bit complicated to operate (I am a bit technically challenged and there were different rules for all 3 remotes). also the aircon is very strong and I had no way of turning it off. (I dont like aircons, so this is minor for other people)
Ilikai Condo 828

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ilikai. The location was good.
The condo was nicely decorated and clean. A few small items could have been included. There was no wine opener and no Kleenex. The Toilet paper was cheap. I also thought 2 towels each for a 1 week stay was skimpy, especially for a beach location.
Also it is right next to the elevator. The floor was quiet when we were there, but this could be a distraction during a busier time. The bed is a Murphy. Wasn't the best, but not bad.
One more strange thing; the silverware was so small, looked like s child's set; tiny spoons and forks.
These are all very small things and did not deter our stay. Ala Moana Park is wonderful and a 5 minute walk.
We enjoyed having the beach chairs, small cooler and beach towels.
If you have a car, there is a parking lot that is $6. for 10 hours. A much better deal than the hotel. It is right next to the Ilikai at the Marina.

My husband, our god daughter (19) and I have just returned from our 3rd visit to Honolulu and we stayed in room 828. It was the best accomodation we have had so far. It was large for 3 adults to stay for 2 weeks, the room is centrally located to washing facilities and lifts. The view of the lagoon and beach was fantastic and we enjoyed our breakfast each morning on the lanai. We even had sneak peaks of the Hilton's luau each night. The room is well appointed with kitchen items, coffee maker, large fridge and cooktops. There were even cooler bags and beach mats and chairs. Other friends of ours were also staying at the condos and our room was the brightest and most homely of all. The actual building is so convenient to the trolley bus stop, Wailana coffee lounge and in very close walking distance to ala Moana shopping Centre and car rental. We cant wait to get back to room 828 and would highly recommend it to all.

Condo 828 was absolutely lovely. It is so clean, modern, and well equipped...a perfect place to enjoy the beauty of Hawaii. The resort is wonderful with a great restaurant, staff, views, valet and pool. We also enjoyed perfect views from the lanai every night of the Hilton's luau and the fireworks on Friday on Waikiki beach. Plus, it was so easy to book and affordable! Read more

Overall, our stay was wonderful. The room was exactly as it was presented. The Ilikai is very nice and close enough to the Hilton that we were able to cut through the street to get to all the shops. The only things I could ask for would be a softer mattress and we missed having a tub to bathe our 2 year old, but we made due with the shower. Also, the walk to the beach takes a bit longer than was presented, but we found that for the price we paid, you really couldn't ask for more! Thank you so much for sharing your condo! Read more

We stayed at the Ilikai Room 828 in late april.
I had booked online, so I had saw pictures and new what to expect -- we weren't dissapointed! Beautiful view facing East, so we got the morning sun and the view of the imposing Hilton tower right out our window.
There was 3 of us, and I got the futon to sleep on.
Both mattresses left us desiring a little more comfort. The futon mattress is pretty hard/stiff/firm.
The first night we also had to get used to the indoor air conditioning and heat from outside. We found by closing the patio door, that it got too cold. The only provided blanket for the futon was this very wafer-thin synthetic microfiber sheet/blanket that didn't provide any warmth. My sister, who always complains that it's too hot, actually complained that it was too cold as well. So the next night, we opened the patio doors about 1-2 feet, so we got the air-conditioning, along with the hot, warm humid air from outside. It seemed to work.
The internet access via wi-fi was a pleasant surprise, as most hotels will say they have wifi access, then charge you an outrageous fee per day. My sister had her ipod, and it was fantastic being able to search restaurants and things on the internet while staying here.
Although we mainly visited restaurants for eating out including Dukes and restaurants in the Hilton Hawaiian Village next door, the kitchen was well used. We stored drinks in the fridge, and used the microwave for heating up food. My sister even made omelettes one morning with a drink using the blender.
There was no bath, just a shower, but it is a nice shower. My only critique would be that the shower head shoots out the water powerfully like little spikes, and there is no way to adjust it.
Getting the TV to work, and to simply change the channel was very confusing. There are 3 remotes. My sister and I had alot of trouble getting them to work. It was only by fluke we got it working in time to watch the Royal Wedding. Read more
