A nice economical place to stay. The reservation office was very accommodating. We were not aware we also had to check in with the desk on the property as well as the office. Difficult to locate parking, especially late in the evening.

Was a great location, steps from the majority of waikiki attractions, and very near a stop for the bus to get everywhere else. Very spacious room, good extras like body boards, and fins. We were also pleasantly surprised to find cold bottles of water in the fridge.
The only complaint I would have is that the AC unit in the bedroom didn't work, it never got cold. However there were box and floor fans we used as an alternative and they got the job done!
Fantastic value. Highly recommended if you're in Waikiki to experience the sights, not stay cloistered up in your room. -

United StatesHawaiian King stay unit 507

We had agreed to rent unit 104 but due to a mix up they rented it to someone else and we were moved to 507. It was ok but not as nice as 104 which had been updated and was on the ground level by pool. 507 is right above a bar and is very noisy until closing. The AC didn't work but with a fan in the room is was ok. The location was great, about 2 blocks to Waikiki Beach. They did lower the daily rate because of the mix up but I would have rather paid more and stayed in the other unit.

Property was convenient location and slept 4-5 but very noisy location above bar and didnt sleep much with the luvered windows. Needs updating, pillowcases sheets stained owner could buy some new linens, water came out brown at first, and garbage disposal didnt work so wouldnt drain, stuck hand in and pulled out previous persons garbage, and had to rewash many of the dishes. On the plus there were no cockroaches or bedbugs. Every one was nice but a few things could be fixed or updated would make it a more pleasant stay. Was cheaper in waikiki for 4-5 people if you dont have a car and you can walk everywhere, but if you have a car its cheaper to stay at hotel with parking and probably much nicer/quiet. Owner and company were nice.

United StatesFun in Waikiki

Property was clean.
However the carpet is stained and quite "gross"
The accomodations had been used by smokers as some of the linen had the scent of cigarettes.
Other than that, the place is spotless.
The facility is dated however it gave it caracter.
The pool & inside courtyard was beautiful & safe for the kids.
Ate evening diners on the pool deck
the location is very convenient to beaches & international market.
you are in Downtown Waikiki so there are lots of late night city noise!
All in all, I recommend the location and the facility to anyone.
Looking forward to our next stay. -

United StatesInexpensive and convenient
Left on 06/16/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We stayed at Hawaiian King for a week in June.
It is an older hotel with it's own 1950'es charm... and sign of wear... but what can you ask for at that price.
The unit was a large 1 bedroom unit with a full kitchen and a small lanai. Nice size for a family of 4.
Easy beach access, elevator just big enough to get a 8'6" surfboard in and out.
Pool and courtyard were cute... though we did not use it much since it was the beach we came for.
My only complaint was knowing when the tavern closed every night (2am) but then I'm a real light sleeper... and louvers does not keep the noise out.
We would go again... but next time see if we could get a unit on the side so we would not be right above the tavern.
