The location and building are great! We would recommend this unit, however, be sure to bring the following (they are not included):
-Dish Soup (only a small amount provided)
-Shampoo, conditioner and bar soap
Also, note that it is really a studio with sliding doors, not really a one bedroom. Take that into account if you're traveling with others or children.
Also the unit looks a bit unfinished from the upgrades and we noticed the smoke detector was removed???
On the plus side, they did leave us a nice basket of snacks and coffee was provided enough to get us started.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay and the Hawaiian Paradise Retreat staff was helpful and friendly. -

when we enter the house after on the whole house light the house still very dark, one of the kitchen bulb is blow, my husband help to change the bulb, and i have to help to clean the floor cause is full of dust, other than that everything is ok for us.

The unit said it would sleep 4 but in reality it is only good for 2 adults. If you open the couch to sleep two more people there is nowhere to walk i the unit. The living room couch area is separated from the bedroom with a wooden partition not a wall

This was the first time renting from Hawaiian Paradise Retreat and have to say they were professional, friendly, and very helpful. The Ilikai property speaks for itself, it is a Jewel ! We look forward to our return.

Describing this condo as a one-bedroom versus a studio is a bit misleading. Sliding louvered doors do not a bedroom wall make! Other than the unanticipated lack of privacy the condo met our needs very nicely.

We enjoyed our stay in Hawaii. Hotel location was great. Room was good. Had no problems. Don't expect 5 star hotel level furniture & amenities. This room is decent fort people who come to Hawaii to enjoy. If you prefer to stay in your room and watch TV it is may be not good for you.

What a wonderful condo. Came in, called the property manager who gave me a code to unlock the key. A lot was provided, and the room was kept clean. Definitely going to rent here again for my next visit.

We rented two units and just couldnt have been more pleased. The location was great, the price was reasonable, and the property managers were so accommodating and professional. Would definitely return and would recommend without hesitation.

I really enjoyed my stay for one week. I have a few points that could help with the kitchen.....there are a few utensils missing and replacements would be helpful (rice cooker is broken; knives are needed; garlic press would be nice). I enjoyed my stay and wish i could be there now!!! i would recommend this condo.

The Ilikai is a nice place to stay. Great location.
I think house keeping could have left more towels. Atleast enough to wash a couple while using a couple.

Since I love Ilikai location, it is very convenient + great location, clean building and reasonable price! Since I got city view, traffic/city noise could be issue to some people. I thought the unit was located high enough, I didn't hear much noise...

No DVD when we arrived, after being promised it would be hooked up. No batteries or back to TV remote. Not a 4 piece set of dishes without chips. No dishcloth and only 2 bath towels, 1 tea towel. Cracked coffee caraffe. Cabinets were filthy handprints and had to wash. Shower and curtain moldy. Computer hookup not there.

I beleive the overall stay was great - the property was on the city side so we got a lot of the traffic noise which isn't the fault of the condo/hotel - just the city of Waikiki is loud. I felt the staff was very accomidating. We went to the General Store located in the condo/hotel daily and the staff was very friendly.

I would have expected a more professional remodel job on the unit. Cheap Chinese plastic shower curtains. Old difficult to operate sliding door to lanai. Wifi that did not work for four days. Cheap lanai furniture. Had a bunch of foil wrapped around inside
of bedside lamp shade to hold it together. Give me a break. How much is a new lamp shade. Got a good price on the unit, but would have been happy to pay a little more if i did not feel i was living in a cheap apartment remodel. -

The pictures are deceiving. Other than the fact that the kitchen and bathroom have updated features (updated perhaps more than 5 years ago), everything else you don't see from the pictures was the same from the 70's. Also, the unit had a general smell that we couldn't remove, and the rugs on the floor were extremely dirty. The couch was extremely worn and dirty, and the bathroom towels were very old. I would highly recommend staying somewhere else, we certainly would never return.

We spent a pleasant 5 days in Honolulu. Ilikai #1413 was very comfortable for two of us. Clean, quiet, updated kitchen. The Condo is north of Waikiki. Beach is behind the complex. We walked to Ala Moana Center, Walmart, International Market Place, Waikiki beaches. Took "TheBus" to Chinatown, Costco, Arizona Museum; bus stops were within doorsteps or just short walk from destinations. The condo's location is convenience, and would stay there again on future visits.
