The condo was very easy to locate and the management company was easy to work with. Condo was in a perfect location close to everything but far enough away from all the hustle of the tourist area. We really enjoyed our stay in the condo, it was clean and larger than any hotel I have every stayed in while vacationing in Honolulu. Will defiantly be back and recommending this to friends and family.

My wife,I and two adult daughters found that all though the Illkai is a an older style accomodation we found it very roomy and quite comfortable. Location good.
A few issues should be addressed, toaster not working, toilet running constantly, bed linen and towels need upgrading. -

Very nice location and amenities. Bathrooms could use a little updating and kitchen could use more ice cube trays or a working ice maker. We loved having a lanai off of each bedroom!

Great location. Check in was easy. Just a few basic repairs needed. The toilet of main bedroom constantly filling cistern we had to turn off water at night. Main door of dining room to balcony would not open, ice maker in fridge not working the ironing board was stuck and would not fold up this took up our limited space. Cleaning of hidden areas poor a dropped earring lead to discovery of lots of dust balls under bed. Overall the location was great though on noisy side this was made up for by having public transport at door. We enjoyed not being in the hub area but being able to assess it easily. From bedroom balcony we could watch beautifully sunsets over water as well as have mountain views in the other direction. Would suggest main bedroom upgrade from a double bed to a Queen bed. All up good accommodation for the price.

Apartment is well appointed and consistent with age of hotel. Street noise is usual for busy road location. Location is excellent between Ala Moana and Waikiki shopping, and close to beach.

The only thing I would have like was more furniture on Lani. We had our moring coffee there and there was only enough furniture for three guests.

Very clean, we are from Hawaii, born and raised, so we could hav stayed at any of our ohana places but decided to play tourist for the short time we was visiting home. we are so glad we found this place. I would highly recommend to everybody to consider staying at this hotel. A+ all day brah!!!

Hawaiian Paradise Retreats did an outstanding customer service job! They were completely truthful about the room. Ilikai 809 was very clean. Furniture was a little dated, but for the money, this is a GREAT deal!

The funriture in this Condo needs to be replaced. The dining room chairs wobble,one chair actually fell apart, recliner is old and ripped and sofa is not comfortable. There was food left from a prior tenant, the kitchen needed to be cleaned including the oven and there was sand in the sofa. We had the cleaning service come back to take care of these issued and they did so the next day, but it was inconvient after a long travel day.

Here are some suggestions for improvement.
Our local phone never was connected although we asked the property management to help us with that they were never able to do so and did
not follow up. We had to by local time on our cell phone so we would be able to make local calls.
The matress on the pull out was impossible to use as the springs were pokeing out into your
back if you tried to sleep on it. It must be very old and needs to be replaced. We had to call the property management to bring us a blow up mattress for our use and we are very thankful that they did follow up on this request.
One of your kitchen chairs is very wobbily and
we could not use it for fear it would fall apart.
We were not satisfied with the Property Management, they did not follow up on our needs as well as they could of. So as a consequence we did not have a local phone working the entire time we visited. We also did not have Wireless connections the entire stay. This did effect our daily events for planning etc. We were promised this on the list
of ammenities. We would suggest that if we did refer this property to a friend that these things could be done. Hope that helps, other wise we loved the location and were happy with our stay.

The condo is in a great location on Waikiki beach; however, the unit was not particularly clean and woefully lacking in terms of having the appropriate linens for a our stay.
After numerous calls to management company (Hawaiian Paradise Retreats), I was finally able to get some additional bath towels. The broker also promised the unit had working wifi, but upon arrival we found a router without any power cord & hence no working wifi. Again, after numerous calls to the management company, we were able to get an ethernet device, which had to be shared by multiple personal computers during our trip. The unit also lacked an appropriate number of beach supplies (chairs, beach towels, etc) which we had to purchase separately to use for our time in the condo. That said, the staff at the Ilikai hotel were quite pleasant & helpful and we very much enjoyed our time in Waikiki. -

We thought the location was great and the layout of the condo was great. some of the condition of the condo appears to be worn, requires some upgrading, but was clean. We do feel that the pull-out coach needs a new mattress. The access to the apartment was great - easy to get punch-in key, etc.. But also could have more info in the condo about amenities, etc.

I stayed with my family at Ilikai 809. Overall we got what we could expect but comparable to our flats in Maui and Kauai it was too expensive. I would recommend the flat to a friend mainly because of the location. It is near to the Waikiki beach and also the huge shopping center. If you plan to cook do not expect to have a fully equipped kitchen as you know from home.

The location was good, not great for 6 single people as bedding was mainly doubles, very clean & well provisioned for linen & towels. Air conditioning was basic but ok, may want better in the hotter weather

I frequently travel and often look for quality rentals. On this second visit using Hawaiian paradise retreats I have found I no longer need to search for any other type of vacation service! Easy to deal with, The rooms are always well kept and filled with island decor! Each of the rentals Included an array of beach supplies from coolers, To mats, and even sand toys for the kids! Though all rooms r different one fact remains that they sacrifice it all for the experience u desire! I'll be booking for November soon! Lol thanks again Hawaiian paradise retreats!

The property is getting rundown with minimum kitchen appliances and glasses, very slow draining sinks, uncomfortable furniture. But the location can't be beat for Waikiki and Convention Center.

I absolutely LOVED our recent 15 night family vacation to Oahu and would definitely stay in the Ilikai 809 again. There were 5 of us and it was just perfect for our needs. The price was right as well. In fact, it was half the cost of small hotel rooms. It was a short walk to the beach that even my 83 year old mother was able to handle. There were beach chairs, coolers, and boogie boards in the closet for our use. We parked our rental car in the public parking that was available behind the hotel which also helped us save a little money (check out the 10-hour and 24-hour specials during the week). We never had to talk to the manager after getting our check-in information because everything we needed was already taken care of for us when we arrived. I cannot say enough good things about our stay and the Ilikai 809 other than I can't wait to go back again!

The condo was very nice and roomy. Didn't get in each others way. The only negative comments I have are:
1. The vent in the shower in the bathroom by the kitchen needs to be cleaned.
2. The sink in the other bathroom was backed up. We had to use the plunger.
3. Even though check-out was 12 noon, the cleaners came in at 8 AM while someone was still there.
4. Did not know we would have to supply the toilet paper! -

The Best: it was a 2 bedroom with lots of room and it was clean. I didn't realize it was part of the Ilikai Hotel which was nice as it felt quite safe. The price was reasonable although could have been a bit lower as we were there for 2 weeks. It was a short walk to the beach, a block from the mall, close to lots of shopping and of course my favorite - Starbucks!
A couple of recommendations would be to replace the couch and the 2 chairs. The chairs we would not sit on as they are in such bad shape and the couch smelled so bad we put a cover over it and would not even consider using the pull out. The design is beautiful and the pictures give it an executive look but when you arrive you are put off by those three prices of furniture. The rest is great! Dishes are lacking as there were only 2 plates :( the rug that shows I. The oviduct was outside on the patio and filthy. It should be professionally cleaned. There are a lot of broken chairs outside that need to be removed and the balcony areas could be fixed up a little.
Honestly if you just made those few changes you have an awesome place! It is a little noisy on your side but I would rent it again.
Oh and a little more info on the building and rules would have helped. We didn't know how to access pool?

We really enjoyed our stay for the week of March 30th - April 6th, 2011. We were expecting more amenities in the condo (only one beach towel, not enough toilet paper, no paper towel, no dish rags, no printer, etc.). The location was great for beach access but the street side was very noisy at night due to street repair work. Bathrooms could use an update and thorough scrubbing. Mattress pad on sofa bed was dirty.
We saved money by staying there as we could cook our own meals when we wanted to. Free internet was great. Laundry facilities were great. Plenty of room for a family of 5 or 6. -

The condo was clean and generally in good shape. There was a TON of street noise that started at about 6am. I don't recommend this place if you have a hard time sleeping or with noisy places. We didnt mind it since we are from manhattan. The location is great.
