IndianapolisGreat location and view but the cleaning leaves a lot to be desi
Left on 04/04/2013 for a stay in March 2013
I stayed in Ilikai 608 in mid- March for a week with my 24 year old daughter who was attending a convention at the convention center. The location was perfect for her to walk to her convention and for me to walk to the beach. The views of the sunset from the lani were breathtaking. The Ilikai has a great staff and many perks. The kitchen was also very nice. Now the not so nice. The fact that I had to pay $100 to have it cleaned after I checked out considering it did not look like it was cleaned before I checked in really ticked me off. The bathroom floorboards were very dirty and covered in hair. I made a call which was not returned so I cleaned it myself. The other issue that I had was that they only left one set of keys when I was very clear that for the first 3 days my daughter and I would be doing on our thing and both needed a key. It took two days to get the extra key. Another problem is the location of the air conditioner. It is floor level and blows directly on the person sleeping on the left side of the bed. The bed was very comfortable. Over all we enjoyed our stay (once I cleaned the condo) and the view almost made up for the downsides.

Recently stayed at the ilikai unit #608 and had a great time.
Pros.. location was perfect for us, away from the hustle & bustle but still in Waikiki. Faced the marina/ocean so street noise wasn't an issue. Afternoon sun on the large balcony.
Cons... room was kinda clean. Maintenance done by someone who doesn't know how. Renovations done by the same person? Hawaiian Paradise Retreats contact was great until we sent our money, then is was non-existant. Informed them of the issues we had in the room when we returned home, no reply.
Before you book, ask if the high pitched sound coming from the toilet valve has been fixed yet. (by someone who knows what they are doing) You'll know around 2am if it has or not.
was a great holiday -

I will definitely return to the Ilikai. I came with my teenage daughter. We liked the fact that it was within walking distance to the mall, shops and beaches. The property management company were very professional and I would recommend to everyone to stay here rather than a hotel. I will be back next time with my husband.

We loved having a kitchen so we didn't have to eat out all the time.

after learning the secret of opening the sliding doors to the lanai we had a wonderful time. Some minor cleaning (which was discussed with the cleaning co) needs to be done but did not take away from our vacation. We would definitely consider staying in this unit again.

The Location is the first stop of all the strolley to WAIKIKI Area orr you can walk to Waikiki only 15-20 min exercises... It's very convience to every where...Especially it very close to the Almoana Centre-Big Shopping Mall, Until mine last day wife & Kids are empty out of mine's money for the shopping... It a beach 5 min walking distance & it quiet at night so you will have a good sleep...
If I coming back to Honolulu, I'll stay this side not in WAIKIKI...Everything it expensives in Waikiki area, but here compare ($7.50 Breakfast-Waikiki Area is $9.50) -

Very poor bedding and pillows, the comforter had holes in it! I had to clean the bathroom before I could use it. We weren't given any information about the property such as where to pick up a pool pass.

Left on 02/13/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We were attacked by bed bugs. Contacted the management company and wouldn't do much to satisfy our concerns until we demanded. Oh, by the way, did I mention the sheets were soiled upon our arival? And the dishes had food on them? We had to wash their bedding and clean their dishes before we could use the condo.

United StatesDisappointed - I expected more
Left on 09/21/2011 for a stay in September 2011
I have never stayed in a condo before, we always used a hotel in the past. From this experience, I think we'll go back to hotels. The bed was broken so that one side was practically unusable. It was so sunken in that I woke with a stiff neck and back every day. The kitchen was nice and clean, which was good. The bathroom towels had many stains on them which made them unpleasant to use. The balcony doors wouldn't open, so we had to call for servicing. They were fixed that same day, which was pretty good service. However, it made the room smell like WD40 each time you walked in. The balcony had a lovely view, but it only had one old dirty plastic chair to sit on, so we never got to enjoy sitting outside. Sorry, I've never written a bad review before, but overall I was very disappointed.

We loved the location and the setting. It was perfect for us. The only suggestion is maybe to update the comforter. It looked a little worn out. Great stay though, beautiful sunsets from our deck.

Hello,
I was shocked when I arrived to 611 it was rundown and dirty, my husband and brother in law and 9month old baby were very disapointed we immediately got transferred to 608 which was better, I personally found they werent baby friendly at all, the bedding on the 608 was rough and old, and the sliding doors need to be upgraded and the patio door is so heavy to open and close, we also found the AC very annoying and old, upgraded to 1410 which was awesome and perfect and made our stay much more pleasant. -

The condo needs updating except for the kitchen, new bed, new linen, a place to eat at bar has no overhang. Was dirty, no toiletries. Shade for the verandah very hot in the afternoon.

This was nothing what I ocean view?? Not really, it was a partial ocean view. NO PHONE, NO INTERNET..when we called to inquire about it we were told only that the previous tenants must have stolen the phone and the internet box. Ya, right. Suzanne offered no replacement nor solution. Dont use the bathroom much either, you get only 1 roll of TP for the week!! the vents looked like they hadnt been cleaned in 20 years. We stayed at the same hotel, a different owner. It was much nicer.

The experience was full of aloha spirt from the first contact with the managemnet company.
But I could only recommend this location to somebody after advising them of what the room lacked.
The people we dealt with were very helpful and answered our questions fully. Which was important since the ad itself didn't say much.
The Ilikai is on the edge of the main hustle & bustle of Waikiki, which in our opinion is good.
The room was clean, but clearly furnished by someone who never stayed there.
The little things that make a place comfortable were missing - a VHS or DVR, CD player, blackout curtains to keep morning light out. ceiling, or other fan (the air conditioner is in a bad location, noisy & ineffectual). There was not even a spare roll of bathroom tissue.
But we did have views of the marina & sunset.
