Auckland, New ZealandGreat location
Left on 05/06/2013 for a stay in May 2013
The Good;
Great location on Nthwest end of Waikiki beach (3 min walk) but away from the crowds.
Equipped with all kitchen gear.
View of marina & water.
Combination lock on door so no check in hassles (ring for number day before).
Close to Ala Moana Shopping Mall (8 min walk)
Rental cars across rd from front entrance (Enterprise, Alamo, National).
Good pool, not huge but nice.
Couple of nice parks nearby.
The not so Good;
Sofa bed not comfortable for older kids.
Ranch slider stiff to open - a struggle for elderly.
Every night there is a show on next door at Hilton village 2nd floor roof top - OK on the first night then get a little monotonous.
Overall
Very good location if you want to stay in Waikiki if you are after peace and quiet head up to the Nth shore.
Enjoy. -

United StatesOne room not one bedroom
Left on 04/09/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Over all it wasn't a bad place. It was listed as a one bedroom, so I assumed it would have a bedroom and living room. This was not a one bedroom, it was a studio. We were comfortable, but would have been nice to not sleep in the same room as mother-in-law and sister-in-law. The view was amazing.

United StatesGreat stay!
Left on 03/24/2013 for a stay in March 2013
All was great with this condo except for two things. One, the sofa bed was very uncomfortable for my two daughters, mattress was on a slant downwards. Two, we were excited to watch the fireworks on Friday night from the lanai and could not see a thing, all was behind building. Do bring binoculars, there's so much to see: the Hilton luau and the beach view.

United StatesAbsolutely wonderful
Left on 03/15/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We truly enjoyed our stay in the 1122 and will be back. We spent our breakfasts on the balcony overlooking the lagoon and ocean. Watched fireworks, the luau next door, and found it quiet at night. We also eat at both the roof top restaurant and bar several times and the patio restaurant and bar. Both had live music and great service. One thing we noticed was the friendliness of other guests.

Spokane, WA, United StatesNeeds a good cleaning!
Left on 01/30/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Loved the condo, however, we could not get in our room once we arrived (10:00pm) because no body answered the phone even though I called and left a msg a day in advance and they had all of the paperwork stating our time of arrival. Very frustrating. It seemed by chance that someone finally answered the phone and hour later. The vent in the shower had mold growing out of it and the bed pillows were old and used with no slip covers. Yuck! Dishes were dirty and the sponge under the sink was filthy and stunk! If this condo were cleaner and we could be assured that we could get in when we arrived, I would definitely rent again. Loved the Ilikai and the location, even though parking is expensive.

United StatesGreat Condo
Left on 11/08/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We loved it! My family of four (including two teenagers) loved the condo. Very updated and very comfortable. Spectacular view, easy access to the beach. Paid for hourly parking behind the Ilikai which can start to add up. The only downside was that the fold out couch was starting to fall apart at the foot of the bed. My kids still slept great though. I would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Waikiki.

Left on 09/10/2012 for a stay in September 2012
My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary in Hawaii. The Ilikai, room # 1122 was fantastic. We only have one complaint. The sliding glass door was very difficult to open and close. If we were an elderly couple, I would be certain they would not be able to open and close it. Suzanne Shuto was great to work with. Thank You very much!

United StatesSpectaculer visit to Hawaii
Left on 08/21/2012 for a stay in August 2012
My visit and stay in Hawaii was outstanding; mainly, because of the location I stayed. I did much research before selecting Llikai 1122. It was a great location overlooking both the Marina and Ocean. You could also see the private beach behind the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The Suite was large with a full kitchen and separate bath, with all areas very clean and well kept. It was like having your own place in Hawaii, I had zero interface with neither the hotel staff or the property manager's staff. Upon arriving I called and was told how to get get in and out of the suite. So no check in or out was necesary. Also, I did not have to worry about early morning knocks on the door from the hotel cleaning staff. I read an earlier review and followed their advice to not park at the hotel (valet only for $25/night), but rather to park in the rear at the Marina ($12/24 hrs on week days and ($1/hour on weekends with a $6 special for 10 hours). On Friday night there were fireworks next door at the Hilton which could be seen from my balcony. The suite had everything needed for an enjoyable stay, down to extra towels and bath cloths. I did not cook there, but I could have, there were many good resturants within walking distants from the Llikai. Again it was outstanding.

We took 3 apartments in the Illikai for a family reunion.
This was the was clean, it was nicely furnished it had a good view.Unfortunately unless you know the particular apartment you are getting the quality can range from v good to v bad for the same cost. -
United StatesVery nice studio
Left on 08/15/2012 for a stay in August 2012
One of the nicer, well-kept studio units in an older upscale condo with prime location.
Good kitchen, modern AC unit, rather spacious shower, recently refurbished feel.
This side of the condo faces the Hilton's East entrance and the ocean. The water running through the Hilton's artificial waterfalls can be heard from the balcony all day and all night...kinda too loud on the balcony for my taste.
Otherwise, the Ilikai's unique mix of amenities and prime location makes the little inconveniences (such as the lack of a full range of cable stations, no music player, need better rugs, ice machine not functioning as of 8/2012 when visited) well worth it.
Book it if it is available. -

Left on 05/08/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Overall, the unit is very nice. It has a GREAT view and is amazingly quiet
considering the location. It is not a “one bedroom” unit. It is a large studio. I would rent it again.
That said, here are the negatives:
1. The room could have been cleaner. (Some body hairs in the drawers and on the bathroom walls / shower stall were a turn-off. Don’t think about using the light blankets in closet. Same problem.)
2. Bathroom door was a challenge to completely close.
3. The sliding doors for the lanai required a great deal of effort to open and close. My mother (a senior citizen) was unable to open/close them.
4. A handicap bar in the shower stall would be a plus.
5. Parking for the Ilikai can be problematic, and if you require a handicap spot to load/unload it’s even worse. There is only one spot.
These negatives can be relatively minor or serious depending upon your outlook.
In spite of them, we had a great stay and I wrote above, I wouldn’t hesitate to rent the unit again. -

Overall we were really happy with our accommodation.
The view was great from our balcony and location wise it was really good. The only fault we could pick was that the shower could've been a lot cleaner, but other than that, nothing else to complain about.
I would definitely recommend to anyone. -
United StatesA Great Holiday in Waikiki
Left on 03/23/2012 for a stay in March 2012
The Ilikai Room 1122 was a nice place to call home for a month. This was our first visit to Waikiki and we enjoyed staying at the Ilikai, the location and all the goings-on in Waikiki. We enjoyed the openness of the condo and we especially enjoyed the view of the lagoon and the ocean in the distance. We had breakfast on the lanai every morning. It doesn't get much better than that. We hope to come back to stay here again in the future.

This property is wonderful for many reasons, the location, the entertainment, Sarento's Restaurant and the amenities. It is however, a studio, not a one bedroom condo. It is clean and well stocked with the basics, the view is lovely, the bed comfortable and the air conditioning quiet. The kitchen has recently been renovated. The bathroom is in real need of renovation however as it definitely shows its age. We would stay here again.

Left on 01/17/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We had a good stay at the Ilikai. We were somewhat disappointed that WiFi was not included and we were surprised to see the painters at work outside our deck. The amenities were reasonable and clean but showing a few signs of age and use. The ice-maker is not hooked up. It is a good thing that we like mostly beer and wine. We had a good time and we were able to relax without the disturbance of maid service but we were a bit surprised that noone checked on us or serviced the condo while we were there. I guess we should not expect toiletries, etc. It just seemed a little bit strange from other accomodations that we have enjoyed.

United StatesOur stay at the Ilikai 1122
Left on 11/19/2011 for a stay in November 2011
The unit definitely could have been cleaned better. The bed pillows were all too big for our liking, and there were no "beach towels". There was only 1 kitchen tea towel, and there could have been a few more basic kitchen utensils i.e. there was no soup ladel, or vegetable grater. On the positive side, it is a pretty unit with a nice view, and was quiet. We appreciated being able to use the phone in the room, although there was not a phone book. All the appliances worked well, and the lighting was good. My husband and I did enjoy our vacation .....

United StatesA Few Suggestions
Left on 11/15/2011 for a stay in October 2011
The cookware could be upgraded. People rent condos with kitchens because they do not want to eat out all the time. Three sizes of non stick frying pans would be a great addition. Also, I would add that hooking up the icemaker would be helpful. Since I have an eye for decor, I must say the beautiful lamps in the living area need new shades. Bamboo would be nice, one size larger would be great. The bedding seems a bit worn but was okay.
All in all we couldn't have been more pleased with our accomodations and the off season pricing. I must add the weather was absolutely perfect the whole ten days of our stay.
Mahalo for making this unit available to us. -

United StatesSomewhat disappointed
Left on 10/01/2011 for a stay in September 2011
The condo's size and amenities were fine, but the floor was dusty and the bathroom vent was disgusting. Our condo had a great view of the lagoon, ocean and the Hilton gardens. The hotel is close to an ABC store and rental cars, but renting a car proved to be an impossibility as parking was $25 at the hotel. Since, it is valet parking, it is even more expensive as one is expected to tip. Also, many of the island's attractions are far away from the hotel.

Unit was advertised as one bedroom. However, each unit owner may or maynot have kept the sliding doors which sepaerate the bed from the sitting area, in either case its a strech to call it a one bedroom, its really a studio. But it is large, with a full kitchen and the unit we stayed in had a great view. The property is well ocated. Parking is expensive - it costs more to park on a daily basis then it costs to rent the car. Otherwise, a good value and a good property.
