Description from the manager
The Waikiki Banyan is a very popular, moderately priced family resort only 1 block to Waikiki Beach, Kapiolani Park and Honolulu Zoo. There are fantastic amenities at the Banyan: a huge swimming pool, 2 Jacuzzis, tennis courts, basketball courts, a playground, coin-operated BBQs, a putting green for the golfers and even a fitness area for the athletic. There is also a small snack shop for a quick bite to eat while you enjoy all these vast amenities! There are laundry facilities on each floor, a convenience store in the lobby, along with a great little coffee shop and Internet cafe all in Tower #1 on the ground floor. United StatesPool and Deck Closed
Left on 04/23/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We rented this property last year and loved it. But this year there was tons of loud construction the pool was closed part of our stay tennis courts were closed and our Lani was not available part of the time. We were very disappointed no one warned or informed us of these closures ahead of time, our room fee was not reduced we were very dissapointed.

United StatesGreat location, but in need of TLC
Left on 04/02/2013 for a stay in March 2013
I was disappointed during the booking process. I emailed the dates I wanted to stay to see if they were available, and received a prompt response. Then talking with my husband we thought we would see if we could stay longer and emailed to see if new dates were available. The quote in response added an extra charge for extended reservations which is strange considering I hadn't even booked yet! They did give me a slight nightly discount due to the amount of days we were staying, But the additional reservation fee left a bad taste in my mouth.
I love the location of the Banyan, and the views from this suite, we have stayed here before about two years ago.
The pull out couch is in desperate need of replacing, there is no way an adult could sleep on this bed. The suite in general is in need of a small update and TLC. While we were there they were doing repairs to the building, which is by no means the fault of Hawaiian Paradise retreats, but the fact that we were unable to use the lanai or even open the sliding glass door made for a disappointing stay. The tennis courts were also closed. I would think that this sort of disruption would be cause for a discount in stay.
The cleaning staff were very kind, bringing extra pillows promptly when I informed them none were present for the pull out bed. In general, it is a great location, and I would return once updates are done. -

United StatesGreat place to stay
Left on 03/18/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Great view great stay. The unit needed alittle TLC.... The curtains weren't in the best condition, some of the outlets were hanging off the wall, the sliding glass door was hard to open and close and the AC unit made a loud noise at night. I'm not a picky person but I could see how those little things could bug some people. I did call about a runny toilet and was told they would come out on sat to fix it but came instead on Monday and replaced it all together. Overall it was a great trip and I would recommend this place to friends and family.

oakland, CA, United StatesBeautiful place to stay despite maintance noise
Left on 03/12/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We spent 11 nights here and the unit was great. There was a issue with the " new fangled" toilet that would constantly flush itself that the am management company told us that they had techs look at it and were unable to fix it,which was a bit of annoyance, and the property was doing maintance we were not previously notified of that was quite loud and disruptive, but since we did not spend all day in the condo, it too was tolerable, but it was pain for sawing to begin promptly at 8:30am.
Taking all of that into consideration,we would stay here again. -

The location was great but the management kept turning off section of the building s water. The bug guy had to come one day during our stay. The lock needs some work. There is a need to have hotpads in the kitchen along with dishtowel. Ice maker is not hooked up and ice trays leaked. View was excellent and I would stay here again.

United StatesGreat Location, Great Experience
Left on 10/11/2012 for a stay in October 2012
My family of 4 enjoyed our stay in 2814 at the Banyan. My only complaints are 3. First, I never saw anyone from the management company in person. I was under the impression they would meet me at the condo and show us in. I spoke to someone who told me how to get the key and that was it. We had some questions, but didn't want to bug them on the phone. Secondly, the locks on the door need servicing. My wife and I both had difficulty getting the key to turn most of the time. Thirdly, the staff at the Banyan are not friendly to conco users. I went to the front desk at 9 pm to get some change for the washer and dryer, and Robert, the desk clerk refused because I didn't have a hotel key card. I went to the store in the hotel and they would only give me $1. Perhaps the condo owners should band together and get a change machine put in...

We usually book a room through the Waikiki Banyan every summer when we come out, but were so impressed with your suite and very happy with
how Gloria helped us with our reservations during the very busy time we were there. We have allready referred your website to our friends that are coming out in the near future. We will be in contact with you
when we come down, and would definately only be interested in booking our future reservations through you for the room
at the Waikiki Banyan.... -

Great place to stay, and very affordable. The apartment has a great view of the ocean. The only think lacking in the apartment was a blender!( for margharitas, of course). The pool area was clean and barbeques are available to use. It was a very nice place to stay.

Portland, Oregon, United StatesThe Banyan - Waikiki Unit 2814 (June 17-22, 2012)
Left on 06/29/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We really enjoyed this corner unit as it did provide a great ocean view. There was one hotel/tower that took a little away from the view but still pleased overall. The unit itself was clean and very comfortable.
The kitchen did need some work on the wall by the window as it looked like the paint was coming off. Called Gloria from the Property Mgmt. and she explained that it may have been caused by sun damage.
The cushions on the sofa are ready to be replaced. The key/lock to get into the unit is difficult to figure out at first. I think it shouldn't be too difficult to get the door unlocked. Overall, we did get the value we expected and were very pleased with the unit. We also rented another unit for two friends that joined us for our vacation; unit 2806. I hope they also provide feedback for this unit which looked like it had been remodeled and had updated furniture.
Of note, the Property Mgmt Staff, especially Gloria was very helpful. We did not have any problems or needed to call the Property Mgmt. after we checked in as everything we needed was there. Thank you. -

United StatesA perfect stay at the Banyan 2814
Left on 06/01/2012 for a stay in May 2012
I made my reservation back in January as a return customer. I was satisfied with my last rental, that I decided to use Hawaiian Paradise Retreats once again. I reserved room 1702, which was our previous room but when we got there the code for that room didn't work, it was only then I learned that we were upgraded to room 2814. This room was nice. The set up was perfect and it has a nice view of the beach and the amenities of the hotel. It's only 2 blocks away from the beach so everything was close. Parking came with the rent, so that even made it greater than expected. The room had upgraded furnitures and electronics. It also had free wi-fi which was awesome. The bathroom was inside the room, which was the only thing I can complain about. The people who was with us had to knock, open our door to use the bathroom. But, otherwise everything is perfect. The laundry room was also beside our room which made it easy to do the laundry on our 4th day. Oh, and there's a pay per use bbq grill on 6th floor which was nice. We got to bbq while the kids swam on the pool. Overall, it was a great experience. I will stay here over and over again.

I love this condo-it has a larger living area then most of the units at the Banyan. The only downside is the galley kitchen with no counter space. Really nicely renovated and decorated.

United StatesGreat Stay at The Banyan 2814
Left on 01/30/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Our family had a really nice time at the Banyan 2814. We didn't realise at the time of booking, but the apartment has a corner location, so therefore it has great views of both the ocean and Diamond Head. The condo had all that we could ask for, and more. I would thoroughly recommend 2814 and the Banyan property itself. Far more economical than a hotel, with a great pool, two hot tubs, handy convenience store and coffee shop on the property grounds. 2814 appears to have been recently refurbished, with a beautifully appointed kitchenette and bathroom and nice furnishings. Everything very clean and comfortable. Free high speed internet and provision of beach gear were a bonus!

Left on 11/16/2011 for a stay in November 2011
The condo was modern but the furniture is faded and needs replacing. It was not very clean the kitchen cupboards had not been wiped down in a while there was food and grease on them. i was very disappointed with the pool area. it is on the sixth floor and there is very little shade, it needs to be landscaped better. The air conditioner dripped water on the balcony so you walk in that everytime you go out there. I guess for the price you can over look some of this. It certainly didn't ruin our vacation in anyway. The staff were very helpful.

WE love the location, the amenities, the view and comfort of the condominium. Housekeeping was not as good this year as in the past- sheets didn't fit, mold in coffe maker, bathtub not clean, told we needed to be out by eleven even though we had cleared our late check-out through the rental company. ( No problem once I had explained.) Except for these minor problems, we had a wonderful stay once again.

We (husband, me & teenage daughter)have stayed in lots of condos on all the islands & enjoyed our stay @ Waikiki Banyan 2814 more than any other place. Very clean & completely remodeled plus we really enjoyed the corner views of Diamond Head & the surf breaks out front. Handy for us because we go to surf & boogie board. Great location too -Food Pantry & bus lines are right down Kuhio & the coffee house off the lobby is really great too. We could have stayed ALOT longer.
