Description from the manager

The most notable feature of this stunning house is the beachfront balcony access for each of the four bedrooms: The top two floors of this spacious home have oceanfront decks extending the length of the house, and huge picture windows create a light filled space with amazing ocean views from almost every room. Ideal for larger groups or those wanting personal space, this upscale home has been beautifully remodeled and newly refurnished. The bottom floor is comprised of an open air game room with a large screen tv, pool table and ping pong, and a new jacuzzi has been installed on the patio. The grassy yard spills down to the private beach, wh...Read more

      Hawaii 50 celebrations !!

Left on 06/07/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We went to Hawaii to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. We booked South Shore Waterfront for 5 days and had 6 of our friends stay with us. We had a fantastic time. The location was excellent, right on the beach (but it would have been easier to have a car). The weather was not good, but because we were all together and had everything we needed in the house it was not a problem. Would highly recommend this house for a group travelling together.

We Came to Hawaii to celebrate our daughters graduation at uh and to enjoy a family vacation. Busy street coming onto the property, but once you open the front door, wow, what a view! Every room from the family room, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms have amazing views looking out to the ocean. kayaking, paddle boarding, windsurfing and surfing are directly in front of the house. You will also see fishermen in their gear standing in the water catching fish. After a long day of activities, the spa was relaxing and on the beach with a beautiful view of Koko head. The Pool table was a big hit,the ping pong table was not usable and heard it will be fixed for the next renters. Everything in the house was clean, air conditioned with fans, plenty of towels and bedding.
Problems: The windows need to be replace, the noise from the hwy is so loud it was hard to sleep.Keeping the TV on helped. Constantly washing dishes, not enough for 6 people. needs more pots and pans. The electric stove was very touchy, heat sensitivity, and hard to clean. When the handy man put dish washing detergent on the stove, it did turn somewhat white again, but, when we started to cook, it started to turn a darker brown and was harder to get white again. They never fixed the problem with the curtains that never closed in two of the bedrooms, but hey, this is Hawaii and the view was gorgeous to wake up too.I would recommend this home for families with older children, because of the busy hwy and the spa. Enjoy, Mahalo

Wonderful way to end our Hawaii vacation

Left on 05/30/2012 for a stay in September 2011

We picked this location blindly but it ended up being a perfect location for us. The wedding we were attending just happened to be two homes down the beach at Kathy Irelands place. We were able to walk to and from the wedding less than 100 yards. The waterfront property has gorgeous views and great amenities. The house is clean and well kept. We utilized the hot tub, grill, and game room downstairs. Only gripe would be the access to the driveway/garage. You pull in and out of very busy street. However, this was completely manageable during our stay.

      Needs some help

Left on 03/29/2012 for a stay in January 2012

Nice house but needs some more work to bring it up to the standards I expect for the price. The kitchen is lacking. The dishes, silver wear, pans and glasswear are cheap mismatched and inadequate for a house of this size. The bed linens and towels are of the lowest possible quality. The inside of the house is clean, the outside is not. The lower level with the pool table is filthy. The house is on a very busy street and the water is shallow and stagnent. Not suitable for swimming. I love Hawaii but I am no longer willing to pay premium prices for low quality rentals

Response from Hawaii Beach Homes - 03/29/2012

We are so sorry that the client feels this way, and are taking all of these constructive comments seriously. The cleaning company has been made aware and will be paying special attention to the outside areas, and we are in the process of updating the kitchen goods and linens. A note about the location: like almost all oceanfront homes in Honolulu, the house is located off a main coastal road.
As for the water it is definitely swimmable and clean, the clients were unfortunately here after an uncommonly bad storm that affected the beaches everywhere; usually the water is calm and shallow for a hundred feet or so, then it becomes deep and great for swimming. This very calm beach is wonderful if you have kids or like to kayak and stand up paddle. Once you get out to the deeper area there is a surf break called "Secrets".

**UPDATE** We have now hired a new landscaping crew, the outdoor area looks beautiful

      Outstanding Beachfront Property

Left on 03/21/2012 for a stay in January 2012

When you walk through the front door be prepared to be impressed with the house and blown away by the view and location right on your own beach. We were 3 couples travelling to Oahu and Maui and wanted to stay in homes rather than hotels and found this property on the internet. The process for booking and checking in went very smoothly and there were no problems. When we checked in there were a few articles missing and property management provided them right away. The home was neat and tidy however could have been a little cleaner particularly given the cleaning fees you pay. I suspect the management company would have been disappointed with the quality of cleaning and have likely dealt with it. The beds are very comfortable and the bedrooms are all large and are oceanfront - there was not a bad bedroom in the unit. The kitchen is equipped reasonably well although there were not a lot of dishes or glasses which I believe has now been rectified. No doubt the shortage is created from guest breakage. It is a lovely home with a beautiful beachfront location. Prior to going I read some reviews on the property that spoke about the proximity of the road and road noise. It is true that it sits on a 4 lane road however we were not bothered by noise at all and found the location convenient to restaurants, shopping and Waikiki beach.

      Wonderful in every way!

Left on 03/15/2011 for a stay in February 2011

My husband and I along with 3 other couples rented this home for 6 days. It was our 3rd visit but first outside of a Waikiki Beachside hotel. We enjoyed every aspect of it and have no complaints. It was plenty roomy for everyone and had lanais out of every room. It is located in a very nice area although not walking distance to anything. We used the local cab service to get around and they were great and prompt. There is a busy road on the front side of the house-although we were not bothered by this in the least. This property had everything we needed, lots of kitchen wares, beach towels, bathrooms towels, cleaning supplies, laundry soap, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels etc. We spent many hours relaxing, watching for whales and enjoying cocktails in the oceanside hot tub. Renting a property is great way to spend your vacation and we will continue to do so year after year! Hawaii is the most beautiful and magical place on earth and I cannot keep talking about our experience and am already excited to go back in 2012.
