My family and my Husbands family stayed here in Nov. 2010 for our wedding. We had a group of 14 people and 6 cars. Everyone and Everthng fit perfectly! The house was very comfortable and very roomy for the amout of people we had there. Never felt cramp or crowded. The pool was nice and cool and the hot tub was great for a chilly night. The Deck was great for BBQ and late nigth drinks. The two kitchens were great. One was used for our beverage kictchen while the other was full of food from Costco. Quiet neighborhood, nice grass, and on the beach was great! The 4 suits upstairs were amazing with there own bathrooms and decks. I recommend this house to everyone that want to relaxe and enjoy the true beauty of Hawaii. I cant wait to go back.

This is a great house and location for an extended family holiday. We have four family groups staying. From Grandparents, couple, teenages and younger children - we all had a great time. Plenty of room to spread out and have 'alone' time if wanted along with plenty of space in communal areas so that we could all share drinks and meals. It is a very quite area without any problems. Close to Haleiwa and the north shore beaches. Plenty of local food places - eat in and take away. The house is very well stocked - both in the kitchen, bathrooms etc. The down stairs games room is great - even had a cricket bat for us aussies to have a traditional Christmas cricket match on the grass. just a little down side - the lounge room furniture could do with a clean or replacement. Don't be put off by all the rules and regulations in the rental agreement - rather daunting when you are reading it thousands of miles away - there was no problems at all. It was great to have Victor downstairs to answer any queries we had.
would we come back - absolutely!!!
this holiday has given our family such great memories that our grandchildren will take with them long after we are gone. -

This was the most enjoyable vacation I have taken in my 68 years of existence. If I return to Hawaii, rental of a home through your agency is the only way to go. Good bye to the hotel rooms, crowded beaches, high rises, etc. This was a Beautiful, Enjoyable, Unforgettable vacation.

Great Stay for Mesa family
Mesa, ArizonaPleasant family reunion
Left on 07/30/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Nice property. Would have been a bit more fun if two things had been different.
1) Family was looking forward to a fire on the beach. Neighbors had them, but instructions for our home prevented it.
2)The river which flows into the ocean at this point keeps the water stirred up and unacceptable for snorkling. Had to go elsewhere.
Otherwise, the ammenities were great and the room plenty large to accomodate our family.
Additionally, we were unable to get into the home with the access code provided on arrival. The emergency number was helpful and ultimately got us in. Not a big deal, but certainly a concern upon arrival.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable week. -

Left on 03/19/2010 for a stay in February 2010
First time visiting the North Shore. Location is on the beach and practically a beach without visitors! On one of our walks not only were we the only ones on the beach but we also saw many turtles in the water and one on the beach. Great location, very large house that would be great for a family reunion. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of all this rental had to offer: great space and clean rooms, comfortable ocean-side decks, hot tub, ping pong, large back yard, beach access and close proximity to the towns and beaches along Oahu's North Shore. Sara with the rental service was terrifically accommodating and the caretaker downstairs hugely helpful. A great experience all around, hoping to return again.

The back yard has changed since the photos were posted. There are less palm trees and a beach shack. Depending on what time of year you go, it may be important to know there is NO air conditioning!! The towels were a bit smelly, probably from the wet salt water beach air. The house is in a great location. We really wanted to be away from the hustle of Honolulu. Haleiwa is a great town. The two kitchens and three fridges really came in handy for our large group. We really enjoyed our stay and would do it again.

Left on 05/24/2009 for a stay in May 2009
Hello Amanda
This was a wonderful vacation and I thank you for helping us bring it all together. Overall it was fantastic. There was an overall feeling that the place was a bit "tired" and "shabby"...needs some updates...new bedspreads in Master, some new pillows. The cleaners need to pay more attention to lamps (were very dusty). There was mattresses in the entrance just sitting there...not a great welcome.
We reconstructed the palm tree beach shack by the ocean as it was literally falling down. I only offer this for the convenience of the next renters. Overall, everyone had a great time and we would certainly consider it for another family vacation.
Hope all is well with you.

NOT as Advertised. NOT A. Haleiwa Plantation. NOT EVEN CLOSE!
Left on 05/06/2009 for a stay in April 2009
Yes, the property I/we rented for 12 days was "nice" BUT it was DEFINITELY not the same property shown in the pictures. AND it WAS NOT the "Haleiwa Plantation" I thought I was paying for! I eventually learned that the real (?)Haleiwa Plantation was on long term rental and/or for sale. Whatever. It was unavailable. Sheeesh.
I could not even get the location of the HP so I might compare it with the property I had rented. So, the rental rate I was charged was the same as in the H.P. listing, but since I couldn't compare the two, who's to say if my rate was as "reasonable"(?)!
I smelled a rat! So, I'm thinkin' "Bait and Switch" scam. I began calling the rental agency. My calls went unanswered for several days. I waited.
When the rental agency finally answered my phone call, I learned that the agent I had been dealing with was away from the office due to a family emergency. So, okay.
The agent who was "filling in" was totally clueless about the situation (or what to do about it!). No help. In fact, she offered absolutely no explanation/excuse or consideration of any kind. She only seemed concerned that, Gawd forbid, we might contact the Better Business Bureau.........
I haven't (yet!).
Evidently, "customer satisfaction" is not a priority with this company and their "customer service" leaves alot to be desired as well.
Since then, the only thing I've gotten from them is this "Customer Satisfaction Survey". Go figure!
Anyway, there's my $.02! FWIW
I'll be surprised if this review is posted.......Response from Hawaii Beach Homes - 07/19/2010
Manager
This is not an accurate reflection of the incident. The guests saw a home on line that was called the Paradise Plantation. It is not a beachfront home and is a 5 bedroom house with a pool. This home was recently removed from the rental market by the owner and we do not rent it. When guests call we tell them this and indicate that we have another large home called the Haleiwa Plantation and it is beachfront and is a 8 bedroom house with a pool and a jacuzzi. We understand that the names of the house are similar but we have never had a problem with people confusing it before as we are very clear and we tell them to look at the photos on line of the home we do have. The contract they were sent clearly stated that were renting Haleiwa Plantation. This is the name of the house as indicated on the internet and is the house that they rented. Apparently one of the guests was confused and thought they were staying in a home called the Paradise Plantation. They did not complain about the home when they arrived until a few days later. The manager was off island but was informed but the caretaker was present on the property and had to deal with the guests who were extremely abusive and highly intoxicated most of the time. A guests of the person who booked the home and was the person on our contact was the one who was complaining but the gentleman who was actually on the contract did not complain and indicated that he was happy with the home. As such, we defered to the indications of the contracting party and not one of his guests.

A friend and myself got the opprotunity to spend 9 days in this rental. The North Shore was the peace that we are all looking for, and cannot seem to find in our daily lives. I can only praise the house, and the property's owners. Great place, I will be back next year!

Customer service prior to our arrival was stellar. The onsite property manager was also great and not at all intrusive. The home was well kept and we enjoyed the lawn, jacuzzi, bbq grill, and ping pong table. Beach water was dirty and not suitable for fishing, diving, or swimming, however.

The Castle
Left on 03/16/2009 for a stay in February 2009
We stayed with 2 sets of Uncles & Aunties, the in laws & our 2 children. The rooms & spaciousness of the 3 storey house was just what the doctor ordered after 5days in the madness of Waikiki. Unfortunatley the weather was not the best but the spa got a good work out each night. The kids in the neighbourhood have built their hang out/club house out the front on the beach but they are all good kids & worth while having a chat to, they even offered us the use of their set up whenever we wanted. It was kind of cute of them to ask as when you look behind their club house was our 3 storey castle. The beach isn't much to look at but the pool & spa more than suffices. The care taker Todd was only around when we needed him otherwise we never saw him. A car is a must but that is the case for staying at any north shore house. In all a top stay & the airfield is down the road if you feel like a tandem 14,000ft sky dive E YA

Tacoma, WaNice house but problems with the location and some upkeep issues
Left on 01/07/2009 for a stay in January 2009
We had selected this expensive property because it is located right on the ocean and we wanted our kids to be able to swim in the ocean right out front from our rental house. Unfortunately this was totally impossible because the water was full of silt and run-off from the rain. We were told not to go in because there were bacteria issues, etc. Because there is a reef that creates a bay just off this property, the run-off and silt never cleared and we never once set foot in the water. We were not warned that the culverts in the area dump right into the water near this property creating this problem. Also, although the house is quite big and nice, it was strange that there were light bulbs all over that were burned out and no batteries in the TV remotes so they were unusable. Also the jacuzzi tub in the bedroom was unusable because the jet was broken and it shot water all over the place.

Los Altos, CABeautiful home in Wailua
Left on 12/30/2008 for a stay in December 2008
I'd recommend this property, though with reservations. If you want a wide beach for swimming, this isn't it. The beach itself was fairly minimal and the water quality was poor due to the previous storms while other nearby beaches had beautiful water. Todd, the manager, was great! Overall, a nice, clean, restful property suitable for large groups with lots of room for individual privacy.

Laguna Hills, CAHaleiwa Plantation needs a little TLC
Left on 10/31/2008 for a stay in October 2008
This is the third time I have stayed in this property. While it is a wonderful place for a family or large group (size and location), it needs a little more attention to it's condition to meet expectations based on its price. I have watched a general decline in the property condition, not super bad, just "tired". Televisions have been removed from some of the rooms and not replaced and more attention should be paid to bug extermination. The addition of an on-site caretaker adds some measure of security, but takes away a lot of privacy. Bottom line, the value of the property is not keeping up with its cost.

Left on 10/30/2008 for a stay in October 2008
We stayed at this property 2 years ago and it was spotless. Right now it could do with a really good scrub. If you look for instance around the door handles of the kitchen cabinets, they are a little grubby. Also, when we stayed before there were TV's in every room so we were expecting the same this time. In the photos on the website it shows the rooms with Tv's but there weren't any. Actually, we are not fussed about there being TV's but it is important to deliver what is advertised. We do love the house and the privacy of being there. It was a little disconcerting this time having someone staying on the property. Overall, we have recommended this property to a number of people who have now also stayed there. We are in the travel business, so have 'been there, done that' and this is definitely on our list of places to stay. In fact it is now listed in our published travel guide. We had a lovely time because we could be together with people we like to spend time with, the house has space and something for everyone, not matter what age. Mahalo!

This house was spacious enough for all 12 of our family members. The long dining room table allowed us to sit down together for our meals. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and utensils. All linens and beach towels were provided. We were also able to get a porta crib and high chair for the baby. Our family had a wonderful experience in this house.

Left on 07/01/2008 for a stay in June 2008
I would recommend this property with some reservations. Caretaker on property was nice but annoying, as he would enter the house unexpectedly to tell us to be quiet or for some other odd reason. The quiet time is 9:00 every night, which is rather unreasonable when the house is going to attract a minimum of 10 people. It was also ironic that on the last night some people who were not from our group made a bonfire on the beach at our house and were yelling from 11:00pm to 2:00am and nothing was done about it. On the up side, the view was beautiful, the house was very nice and was the perfect location for our group.

Left on 05/18/2008 for a stay in May 2008
We loved the privacy of the location but we spent a great deal of time on the highways going to and from main attractions such as the aquarium, zoo, sea life park, hanauma bay. It would be great for someone that wanted to just hang around that area of the island. We had a 4 year old that wanted to take in different activities. So because of the location we spent a lot of time driving. The house was nice but a bit more rustic than I would have preferred. I did not like the slate through out the house. A smooth tile that could be properly cleaned after each rental would have been better. My concern was cleanliness and germs. Slate floors are very hard to clean properly. Three of us clean professionally and found the house to be quite dirty. Cobwebs and dust every where. Bathrooms were not clean. Especially the tub and showers and the floors. Simply walking across the floors after a shower made the bottoms of your feet dirty. Thus my concern with how clean were the slate floors. Also found cockroaches and lizards in a couple of the upstair bedrooms, several different nights. The screens should be fixed to keep out unwanted pests. The fridge smelled like sour milk. We loved the way the house is layed out and the privacy it provided. We loved the hot tub and pool and the closeness to the beach. Loved the furniture and the games room. My biggest complaint is the cleanliness. Also there should be a latch put on near the top of the door leading down to the pool, so little ones can't open it by themselves.

Could not swim in the water...not a good beach. We saw a volleyball net set up in the review pictures, but none to be had. Our family wanted to play some good beach volleyball games. We were told not to be making noise after 10:00pm, lots of warnings about same, but the neighbors kept us up most of the night with a party on the beach (one night only.) The house is set up great for a large group...had trouble with the refrigerators with the humidity.

Left on 04/26/2008 for a stay in July 2007
The home we rented in Hawaii wasery nice, but a few problems surfaced during our stay that were not necessary. We had an any infestation in two of the bathrooms which were unpleasant. We also had a water leak from the upstairs shower into the main floor living quarters. I don't feel those two things should have occurred when we were paying the price that we were paying. We also were charged more for cleaning since we had such a big group and I asked for a discount on that amount, but wes told a decision on that could not be made until after the rental period. We left the facility very clean and tidy, each one of the group pitched in to help with clean-up and we were never contacted about a refund of the cleaning overcharge for having such a large group. Those are just a few of the things that I felt didn't go well. Overall, the families really enjoyed the pool, hot tub (although it didn't get very hot) the spacious living area where we could all (18) congregrate together. We were even able to eat in one dining area.

We really enjoyed the stay in Waialua. The house was big enough for three families and equipped very well. There were no air-conditoners, but it was not a problem. There always had ventilation with natural breeze. The neighorfood was calm and laid-back. One thing I missed of the property was a beautiful beach to swim. The water of the beach was not very clear. Overall we were very satisfied with the home.

My family and I stayed in this home for a week and everyone agreed by the end of the week, that none of us wanted to leave. The home was spacious, beautifully decorated, kids-friendly, inviting, comfortable. The home was everything we could have hoped for and more. we return to Oahu in the future, we will definitely work with this company to give up a temporary home away from home. Also, the customer service before the trip was fantastic...they really work with you and any problems you may have. Overall, a fantastic experience. Thank you
