Service from the company is great ,exactly as they said .The only problem was with the driveway coming off the street .It was an issue with the volume of traffic on the street . Great location ,right on the beach . p.s. we`re ready to go back .

An awesome way to experience Hawaii! We'll be back!

Left on 09/14/2010 for a stay in September 2010

The first thing you notice about the decor when you open the front door is the ocean in the backyard, and from there it only gets better. The house is warm and very comfortable, and the beachfront location inspired us to wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise over Kokohead. We also stayed up late at night under the stars and swaying palm trees. What a magical place.

Even better is floating on a Boogie Board 300 yards off shore where the water is still shallow and calm. And if you're lucky you'll see a sea turtle swimming by. It is the essence of Hawaii, and this is coming from a man who goes there twice a year. I loved this place.

The location was very convenient with a grocery store less than 1/2 mile away. 20 minutes to the west is Waikiki. 10 minutes to the east is Hanauma Bay. So you're in the middle of it all, but you're also an entire world away.

A very cool spot. This home exceeded our expectations in every way. It was a beautiful home and was very accurately depicted on the Hawaii Beach Homes website. My family and I were very happy with our experience, with our only disappointment being that we had to leave... seriously.

Thank you Hawaii Beach Homes! We'll be back!!!

My staff and I stayed for 6 days and loved it. There was a problem with the air conditioning when we arrived but we called management and someone was sent over promptly to fix the problem. The house was beautiful and very convienient to all our activities. It was only a short drive to Waikiki and the convention center. The photos on the website were accurate and the view from the back proch was wonderful. It was delightful to sit on the back porch and enjoy the beautiful view. Thanks for a wonderful stay! Honolulu Beach House

Left on 07/01/2009 for a stay in June 2009

We were very pleased with our stay in South Shore 43. It was a comfortable house and a great location. The view was fabulous, the yard and house were terrific. The only downside was the actual beach. It was a water sports paradise but not the nicest beach for playing or swimming. We enjoyed watching the surfers, wind surfers and board paddlers.
There were a few things missing in the house but the management company took care of them right away.
Also, the street is incredibly busy, but once you are in the house you mostly do not notice.
All in all we really enjoyed this property and found it perfectly located to all the wedding events that we were in Honolulu to attend!

Everything was pretty much the way it was discribed. The only real issue we had was that the refridgerator was not keeping anything cold. Should probably have someone look at that, we tried turning the setting to the coldest setting and still no help. Overall not a bad place to stay.

      Difficult driveway and traffic noise

Left on 05/01/2009 for a stay in April 2009

Although this house is well-equipped, has a lovely view, the rental agency was nice, and it seemed dirt cheap at $365/night, I would not stay in it again. The traffic noise from the road was loud enough to make me keep the windows closed in the second and third bedrooms, with the airconditioner on all night, instead of the Hawaiian breezes I was expecting. The driveway was difficult to find and turn into from that same 6 lane 35 mph road way, such that I damaged my rental car after someone took down the balloon markers I put up to help me locate the opening in the lava rock wall in front of the property. I guess I got what I paid for, but I was expecting less difficulty.

Left on 02/22/2009 for a stay in February 2009

Our favorite points of this home are the ocean side location with the waves lapping up to the sea wall at times. We loved the evenings with the sunset and dinners enjoyed at any of three locations depending on the weather. The choices were a wonderful oversized picnic style table outside in the great yard. Anther location is the lanai, and of course, inside. All with a mesmorizing ocean sound and view.

Left on 01/17/2009 for a stay in January 2009

The kitchen was perfect and the open windows were wonderful. You can open every window and simply let the ocean breeze flow into the house. I highly recommend this house, one thing that made me hesitate before renting was the hiway. Just be careful and drive slowly when you approach the house for the first time. It is a little hard to see and you'll drive past it before you know it. Trust me, once you're in the house you will forget that the hiway is even out there.
The only things that could be improved on would be to change the curtains in the master bedroom to add some privacy, fix the outdoor landscaping lights (once we found the timer only a few lights worked. They create a wonderful night time ambiance) and the sheets in the master bedroom should be replaced, they are stained and we couldn't sleep on them until we washed them. Location is perfect, I could not beleive how close we were to everything on the island.

The noise from the street is noticable if you leave the windows and doors from the street side open but the home is airconditioned and we recommend closing the windows and doors on that side of the property. May of Oahus better homes reside on this stretch of road that follows the coast from Waikiki to Hanama Bay and Sandy Beach but they are designed so that the majority of the house opens to the water side thus blocking the noise if you close the street side windows.

Beautiful House with a few minor problems

Left on 08/17/2008 for a stay in November 2007

The house was beautiful and the location was also great.. but we did come across some minor problems. 1. There were storms on the first 3 days we were we actually had little to no hot water. We were later told from locals that our system might have been solar powered? 2. The bamboo curtains were pretty torn up so we didn't have much privacy. 3. A pit bull from that area came to the front of the house and never left, so when we opened the garage or the front door, the dog would try to run into the house. Not sure why he chose that house but it was hard to make him leave. lol. Overall the house was still very nice and we would stay there again.

South Shore 43 property was very clean and had very modern amenities. Very convenient location near Costco and Hawaii Kai shopping. The only drawback is that it's located on the Kalanianaole Hwy, so you hear alot of traffic noise at night. Wished there was more sandy beach area to play and walk on.

South Shore Oahu (Aina Haina area) beach rental

Left on 05/22/2008 for a stay in May 2008

We had some difficulty using the lock box, but the manager came right over to help us when asked. The house was just as pictured, comfortable, especially the master bedroom and bath with its great shower. Road noise is noticable but becomes "white noise" after a bit. Two towel racks were not in place in the bathrooms, one in each bathroom, and we had to call to get the shower head replaced in the second bathroom, but it was done promptly and is great now. The kitchen was easy to use with ample countertops, a large fridge, all appliances in good shape and easy to use. There are plenty of towels, 4 medium-sized beach towels, reef shoes, two kids' boogie boards to use. Getting in and out of the driveway is a little dicey at rush hour - just be careful to peek down the road for oncoming traffic. It takes about 5-10 minutes to get to Waikiki and only about the same to get to Hanauma Bay. I was glad not to have stayed in Waikiki and we felt very relaxed and at home on this property. It seems to have been built in the 70s, has a bit of a Japanese styling to it with mostly wood floors (the two smaller bedrooms have carpet that would benefit from a shampooing). There is a large shopping center east of the home about 4-5 miles that has a lot of restaurants, a multiplex theater, a large supermarket and a microbrewery that is lots of fun. Costco is also very close by. I like things to be easy to use and attractive but appropriate for the climate I'm in - not generic McMansions - so this was just right for our 10-day stay.

Fantastic beach house! Location, Clean, Relaxing!

Left on 05/07/2008 for a stay in May 2008

My husband and two young children thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was larger than expected and was fully stocked for a relaxing stay. The property manager was friendly and called to ensure that everything was satisfactory. We were very close to many amenities (shopping, fitness, restaurants, banks etc) and only a 10/15 min. drive to Waikiki. The home is direclty off a very busy road so there was some traffic noise ONLY in the guest bedrooms, but it did not distub the childrens sleep at all. The beach was fantastic, shared by only 15 or so homes. Watching the windsurfers just off the coast was a real highlight! The water is very shallow and warm, terrific for little kids. We felt very safe both in the home and in the neighbourhood. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to stay here again if we travel to Oahu in the future.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The furnishings were good, especially the outdoor area. The main thing lacking was a large TV in the living room. An additional TV would have been nice in the master bedroom. The house also seems to have some problems with the electrical wiring. We noticed this in the master bedroom, garage door and the security gate. The one time that we tried to use the air conditioner, it didn't seem to work. The master bath area is very nice. The house is spacious, updated and the views are unsurpassed. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and hope to be back.

Nice house but too close to freeway

Left on 03/28/2008 for a stay in March 2008

This is a great house, the biggest problem is the FREEWAY 30 feet from the 2 bedrooms. Heavy traffic till 100 AM and starting again at 5:00 AM, can,t get a good sleep. Has a nice veiw, beach is too shallow and mucky for swimming. Well built house, but badly needs some major cleaning and lots of small maintance issues. We didnt hear from or see anyone from property management the whole time we stayed. Over all it could have been alot nicer stay if the owners would spend just a little on maintanance for example- the car gate has to be pushed open by three people 1/2 of the time and the main shower head is older than the house(I think) and replace light bulbs out side when they burn out and propane bottle for BBQ & a decent BBQ, maybe cushions for all lounge chairs would be nice, I could go on but enough said thanks for asking for my input. It could be a 4 star place all around with just alitle more effort.

      1. No T.V. in Master Bedroom. 2. Security gate Leading to Street was inoperable. 3. Price for clean-up ($200.00) was high. We do not leave a home that we rent in need of much more than dusting or window cleaning. All other items are done by us prior to departure. 4.The doors leading to the Lenai are very hard to open and close, the runners should be cleaned and re-lubricated. Additonally window dots should be added to prevent a person from walking into the windows. Please understand that I am not being critical to a large degree. I would rent from you in the future. Beautiful Vacation Beach Rental-Good Location-Safety is a Concer

Left on 03/28/2008 for a stay in October 2007

The only problem that we had is while we were gone to the Polynesian Culture Center for a day,the house was robbed, and my 11 year old sons, MP3 player, Nintendo DS Lite along with its case, games, etc, a camera, & jewelry were taken. The total was about $900.00 stolen. We filed a police report and they claim it happens alot with beach rentals. I believe the owners should have used their insurance to help replace the items, We have no idea how someone entered the house. Prior to our stay the housekeepers cleaned and left alot of windows and doors unlocked and the day it happened we contacted the rental agents to let them know the gate was not working and we would be gone. So, perhaps it was an inside job. I think it is such a coincidence that it happened on that day. Buyer Beware!!!! If you stay there, be sure to check all the doors and windows and I wouldn't leave the key in the lock box!!! ENJOY..
