We had a wonderful time on Oahu's North Shore. The house was clean and private. We spent our time watching the turtles and surfers (from our backyard), fishing, hiking and sightseeing. We like to cook, so enjoyed the new BBQ and adequate kitchen. This house does have a shed with water play equipment, plenty of towels and comfortable beds. You will need to have a car to get to town from this property. The rental company was top notch, very easy to work with and quick to respond to questions and/or concerns. It's an older home, in a nice neighbor hood, with an ocean in the backyard!

house location was great.. upkeep on the house however was very poor. i had sent an email to you on wed about the bugs never heard back that was disapointing. the bugs were a huge problem at night dont feel that i should have to spray the entire back of the yard every night while on vacation property needs to be sprayed by a pro with something stronger that a can of raid. lots of thing did not work, lights garbage disposal who ever cleans for you does not look under the rugs on hardwood floors very dirty it really did not look like anyone cleaned in a long time dead bugs in the window and sliding door tracks. rust coming out of a few electrical outlets house need some TLC

If you are looking for a good beachfront location I would recommend this house. It is a little far from the actual town so you have to drive to it, walking is not an option. There is surf right outside the back door and a nice walk down the beach you will see sea turtles. I would stay there again - it's a great place if you want to just kick back and relax.

Left on 10/31/2011 for a stay in October 2011
We loved having a kitchen, and washer and dryer for the week. The house isn't anything fancy, but perfect for us. It has been freshly painted on the outside, and the stairs to the beach have been repaired. There is Wi-Fi, but we had to call the rental agency to get the password, but then it worked great. Small hot water heater, so we had to plan the showers, and clothes washing, but we worked it out. Lots and lots of great big beach towels and bathroom towels. We had a few issues with the gas Bar B Que grill, but eventually got it working. New beach chairs and a picnic table out back was great for sitting out. After a few days we found the road in without all the speed bumps! Loved being by Haleiwa for fast food and shopping and renting surf boards. For the price, and location, it was just what we were looking for.

If you go to the north shore - you should expect accomodation that is a little lived in, real comfortable, and with an outstanding view. This is what you get at the coral home. It's no miami beach, movie star beach house, but you wouldn't want that on the north shore.
The house sits at the end of a 2 mile drive of beach houses. You can sit in the living room watching tte turtles swim by, go out for a snorkel, do a bit of swimming or just chill out watching the waves. Walk onto the beach (3 yards) turn left and you can walk for hours on hte most amazing beaches you've ever seen without seeing a soul. Turn right and you will see a couple of people before eventually getting into town. We had our 2.5 year old and 5 month old with us - and they loved it (especially the paddling pool) dad loved cooking everyone a bbq (lunch and dinner) and mum suggested we just stay there forever. It is not the most salubrious of holiday accomodations - it's like the house you live in, except it is on the north shore. And that makes it near perfect. -

The Coral Home was a lovely place within a security gated area. The house itself was modern, very clean and quite comfortable. The grounds around the house were very lovely. Access to the water was quite easy. The only negative was how far removed it was from Haleiwa. Aside from that I'd rent it again in a minute.

We really had a wonderful relaxing time at BF. The Coral Home. Home had enogh amenities and had a wonderful ocean view.
Kids were so surprised to see a sea turtle close by. Boogie boards and beach toys in the outside storage room helped us alot.
During our stay, beach had a strong wave most of the time and was difficult for kids to swim in.
We would like to come back again. -

The location cannot be beat. It is right on the water as advertised. The house is a little worse for wear and could use some general maintenance. The only complaints that I have are the master room tub and the internet. The tub did not drain and was a disgusting mess after every shower. The internet could be wireless. It would cost fifty bucks for a wireless router and everyone in the house could use it simultanously. I would stay here again and would recommend it to my friends. Be aware that bugs are part of the Hawaiin life so don't leave ANY food out or the ants will be there. I loved the location and the view. I saw many turtles and did some snorkeling. I would recommend splurging and buying your own snorkel set as the ones in the shed are pretty worn out and difficult to see through.

We really enjoyed our stay in North Shore Hawaii. Perfect location - pretty undeveloped - just a lovely village/town at Halweiwa. THe cottage was right on the beach with spectacular views. Cottage itself was spacious, but a bit run down and rather basic in terms of amenities. Getting the windows cleaned would have enhanced the view further! Overall though we really enjoyed our time and would return.

Fishing week-end with family
Left on 06/23/2009 for a stay in June 2009
We planned this week-end as a treat to our sons and my husband for a fishing family reunion. With three of them in college and one married. We all have busy schedules. This was a great time to enjoy their passion of fishing and my home cooking. I enjoyed cooking for my family with the gorgeous view of the ocean from the kitchen. We all in our own way enjoyed the beauty of Hawaii, fishing was good and fun. And best of all, we all took advantage of the relaxing atmosphere that beach house offered and we all needed. Mahalo for giving us the opportunity to stay there. Planning on making this an annual family vacation.

This place was exactly what we were looking for and more. Before we even entered the front door we became excited by the sounds of the ocean. And once inside the view of the ocean is absolutely spectacular. The degree of privacy is terrific, with your own backyard, bbq, and hammock. An additional bonus is the activity room loaded with everything you'll need for fun in the sun. We're definitely coming back for another visit.

Quiet location, great view, not best beach for walking
Left on 05/04/2009 for a stay in April 2009
I would have liked a better "walking" beach - the slope here made it tough to take those morning strolls. Also, you could do a better job with the directions, particularly around the key pad for gate - mention the 22 speed bumps then the bank of mailboxes and that the key pad is with the mailboxes. You also might want to let guests know that the remote for the gate is in the house and can be used during their stay. The house was lovely, though tub in master bedroom fills with water, it was just a bit far away from everything for me.

This house was exactly what we were looking for. Beach right outside the front door, enough space, private, and clean. I looked forward every morning to having my coffee overlooking the ocean, seeing the rainbows as the sun peaked over the clouds and watching the sea turtle heads bob above the water. It was perfect! Will definetly rent again.

Left on 01/20/2009 for a stay in January 2009
The location was terrific and the house was very charming. The security situation took a little getting used to, but I'm glad it's there.
The bed linen needs to be replaced (in fact, we ended up buying new sheets and a comforter for the bed we slept in) as it's getting very old and used up.
Overall, however, we were very happy there and would definitely come back again. -

Left on 09/04/2008 for a stay in September 2007
The location was amazing, just as described, very quiet and peaceful which we were looking for,you couldn't have asked for more in that respect. The downside was the bug problem, the house was inundated in the evening, spent too much time spraying pesticides to keep it under control. The other big problem was the gate access,it never worked as it should and we constantly had to get out of the car and go thru the gate to operate the gate opener from the inside to be able to get into the subdivison. The barbeque grill was disgustingly dirty and unfit to use.Having said that I still rate the location high enough to put up with those major inconveniences.

This property was not as pristine and ready for guests as other properties with Hawaii Beach Homes has been. Patios doors didn't work, shower were dirty, lawn chairs broke, floors needed repairs. We love Hawaii and renting a house on the ocean is paradise for us even if only for a week or two.

Left on 07/05/2008 for a stay in July 2008
I thought the location of the Coral House was excellent. I also liked the ammenities like laundry soap and a fully stocked kitchen (conditments, pots and pans, etc.) The house was clean and neat. My only negative comment is the furniture. The beds were adequate and the bedding was okay but the living room furniture needs to be replaced with comfortable and clean couches and chairs.
I plan to rebook this house for next year! -

Really GREAT house! Perfect for our family and our needs. Home is in good shape but the grounds are a tad shabby- although its hard to notice given the beachfront location. Directions from town and move-in are more complicated than needed. Truly picture perfect otherwise. Great neighbors and we were there with the hawaiian monk seals- amazing!

We all loved this home and how close it was to the ocean. Lots of sea turtles and got a special gift when a monk seal had a baby a few houses down from us, it was fun to see how fast it grew in a few days. House was very clean and stayed nice and cool. Ocean was great to swim in. I just love it, had a great wk. and would stay again. Thank you all at Hawaii Beach Homes for your help. Anne Farrow

We had a great week. The only glitch was entering the first gate. The code did not open it, so we pushed hard and it opened. The remote control that was left for us worked great. Also the double sliding doors did not latch properly. We locked the screen doors together and used the sticks on the floor to lock-up whenever we left. Mahalo.

Alma, KSThe Coral Home: Personal Review from Three (3) Guests, May 5th,
Left on 05/05/2008 for a stay in April 2008
The Homes location was very peaceful and quiet, located within a privated gated area. Over our entire stay, the key pad for the gate never worked but the remote worked well. Minor issues with a door latch and slow plumbing in one bathroom did not hinder out stay. The house stayed at a very comfortable temperature the entire time due to a great cross breeze and im saying this having never stayed in a house without A/C. Sightings of turtles were common and a few whales were sighted as well, it was a nice treat in the morning. Plenty of ammenities like chairs and body boards were a nice touch. Swimming and snorkeling were very nice but make sure you bring some type of water shoes, the rocks are sharp in the water. The hammock in the yard was used often by all of us and rainbows were a common sight. This is our second house rented thru Hawai'i Beach Homes and we plan on using them again. Both the places we rented we used homes with normal wear but well maintained and generally a pleasure to stay in, much better than a hotel, you'll fell like you're at home and wont have the hassel of parking problems, elevators, crowds, loud guests and other common hotel issues. Lovely, simple beachside home. Lovely area. Only difficulty was in arriving and accessing the house for the first time. There isn't adequate lighting at the gate at the street leading to the house and the gate is very difficult to work with the remote. It sometimes takes 10 tries! Hard to manage upon first arrival! There need to be some exterior lights on at the house itself as well, if guests are arriving at night. The info on the house says to bring a flashlight, but that's barely adequate to accomplish the task of entering the house.

This was a fabulous vacation home! In fact, this was the best mix of location, property, and ammenities. The only thing that kept me from rating it absolutely perfect was a small issue with the key code on the security gate not working when we first arrived. It was late at night and we had to manually force the gate. Other than that, everything couldn't have been better.

We were very satisfied with our stay. There were two small problems we had: 1) the toilet water always ran so it made noise all night; 2) the gate to the neighborhood wouldn't always open. That was a problem until we found the remote. Otherwise, everything else was great and we hope to return someday.

We loved the location of this beach house. The beach was perfect. Quiet neighborhood. This is an older house. We think they need new artwork as not everyone wants to see naked pictures- especially when bringing children with you. Love falling asleep to the waves. We would stay here again.
