Los AngelesThe perfect house stay
Left on 06/13/2012 for a stay in May 2012
I stayed at the house on a corporate retreat and couldn't be more pleased. Gigantic sea turtles in the water, the house is right on the beach, there is a separate guest house with a bed and ping pong table, a great kitchen, and a great deck hot-tub. The area is quiet but there was good food nearby in Lanieka. We all had an amazing time.

We only had one bad day when someone actually hit a power pole and knocked out our power for a day. The people we called had a cooler to us in a 1/2 an hour or less. It was excellent service and we will probably stay there again.

Left on 08/05/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Beautifully situated, well designed and laid out -- a perfect site for our family reunion: turtles, dolphins, incredible views, comfortable beds, adequate supplies of towels & necessities. Our party of 12 (age range 27 - 98) would love to return every year! Only suggestion: a few more dinner plates, silverware and cups would have been helpful for our large group.

Left on 02/25/2011 for a stay in January 2011
Travelled with 12 people, including 7 children. Being surfers, the choice of breaks within walking dist was great. The beach was clean and perfect for the kids. In winter beware of some heavy surf. But they managed to have a safe time in the shorebreak. Saw tons of turtles. the view from the back deck is one of the best in the islands. Will return.

Left on 07/16/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Family members stayed in this home several years ago so we were vaguely familiar with it. We rented it this time for our wedding, with all of our children and grandchildren, most of whom flew in from various mainland cities. We ranged in age from 14 to 64, with most in the 20-30 range. Laniakea was perfect for us, and provided opportunities for everybody to relax and to play as much as each desired. Haleiwa is only a few minutes by car for pick-up basketball, shave ice, and a birthday dinner at Luibuenos..

Left on 07/01/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We had a wonderful time in the home, had to wait a while for the cleaning to be done...but worth the wait! The house was very comfortable. My 20 year old sons and my 15 year old son, loved learning to surf... waves were small at times so great for beginners.
Also swimming with the turtles, amazing.
Watch the spa...has a small leak, so fill it every morning if you want to get in it. -

Lots of well decorated rooms, a large modern functional kitchen family room and best of all a great lanai overlooking a legendary surf spot. Also close to Haleiwa for dinners, drinks and shopping.

Great Family Vacation
Left on 08/02/2009 for a stay in July 2009
Fantastic location, older property but in really good shape. Nothing really to complain about, little things like broken cover on the hot tub and scary stairs to the beach were about it.
Overall, we had a great time and would highly recommend this place to large groups wishing to stay on the north shore. The location and the views of this property in particular are world class.
The rental company was really great and Amanda was awesome to deal with.

Lynn and Rob's Wedding
Left on 07/17/2009 for a stay in June 2009
Almost my whole family was able to attend my son's wedding on Oahu and the Laniakea beach house and the Turtle House made the stay wonderful. I was on Oahu for 8 days, and we enjoyed the beach house so much I never even made it to Honolulu.
Every morning I was the first on out on the beach to see the sunrise, and I ended the stay very much relaxed and anxious for another visit.
I intend to try to do this again in a few years. -

The BBQ grill is getting old and needs replacin or some serious maintenance. It wouldn't stay on. Other than that, this place is truly a great getaway. ai don't think it could get any better.

Perfect location, a very nice house
Left on 04/05/2009 for a stay in April 2009
We stayed here for 7 days in late March of 2009. The location of this house is perfect. Right on the beach and just a short walk from a turtle haul out beach (Laniakea).
Some aspects of the house were less than perfect (one of the toilets was wobbly, the jacuzzi leaked, and we had a faucet cease to shut off). Management was quick to address issues that were fixable (faucets, propane on BBQ ran out, etc.)
Overall, we'd definitely stay here again. Just know that the house isn't "perfect". But these features were outweighed by the view and great location. We would come back again. -

This home is one-of-a-kind as far as a vacation rental. It has 2 bedrooms with sliders facing the ocean which is very relaxing for sleeping. The double refrigerators was a nice touch. What really sets this Oahu home apart is the location. You can swim with the turtles, snorkel in clear water with lots of colorful fish or just relax and watch the surfers ride. I rarely go to the same location twice for vacation but this home will be an exception. It was safe, beautiful and very comfortable.

1. Amanda did a great job with reservations.
2. Daisy was friendly with questions once we got there.
3. Rick responded very well with some maintenance issues
4. Regarding the general condition - the sliding door lock in the MBR was broke, one of the toilets was running, the bath room with the black rock floor could use some caulking to prevent water damage)
5. Regarding was the property clean - some cob webs existed, a dead mouse was found in the kitchen
6. A smaller, cheaper house was sold just after we reserved it so HBH helped to negotiate with the owner on price to get us into this house. We really appreciate this and are thankful. Please tell the owner Muhalo!
6. Overall we had an excellent time and enjoyed relaxing at the AB. Laniakea - North Shore. The house was in a great location and furnished perfectly! -

Originally planned one week on Oahu and the next on Maui, the house was so nice and peaceful, the North shore was beautiful, and the rest of the island was accessible when we got to Maui, we decided to fly back the next day and stay another week. I cannot think of a more relaxing or enjoyable place to be than on my own beach on the North Shore of Oahu. Thanks!! I will be back.

Location was great, close to town for groceries and eating. Swimming with the turtles was the highlight of this property. Good view of sunset from the large deck. Outdoor shower was handy. Loved the 2 refigerators! 1 for food, 1 for drinks. A few problems: Some screens were broken so these windows could not be opened due to bugs coming in. No garage or beach chairs as posted on lisitng.

Left on 06/28/2008 for a stay in June 2008
It was the second time we stayed at this particular beach house. My sister reserved it a year and a half prior. We loved the location and the quietness we experienced the first time. So we decided to return to the beach house once again. It's just awesome to walk out on the Lanai and see and hear the waves and if you decide to go for a swim, just walk down the steps to the beach. AWESOME!!!!! We will have some very wonderful and warm memories at this beach house and will probably return once again.

Left on 06/26/2008 for a stay in June 2008
We had a wonderful vacation in spite of the management company and the house problems. Their was a leak in the sprinkler system. I ended up having to turn on the water myself as the handiman (who showed up UNANNOUNCED) did not take care of the problem and left the water shut off! The management company is too strict on their guests. I wanted to entertain the family that my daughter was marrying into and the management company gouged me with an EVENT fee. It was a LUNCHEON for pete sake! A security deposit would have been more than enough as I left the house in better shape than I found it and I would have had the security dep returned in event fee was absurd....money money money!

Keizer, ORMelissa A.'s review of AB. Laniakea - North Shore
Left on 05/10/2008 for a stay in May 2008
Overall, this was a wonderful house and we were not disappointed at all. The reservation process was speedy & easy, the directions on getting to the house and how to enter the home was great. We loved not having keys, but only codes for the doors. That was great! We loved all the amenities of the house like the hot tub, hammock, bar-b-que, chairs, sand toys, etc. A few items of feedback would be that the house book/binder & our rental contract contradicted themselves. One said strip the beds & the other said leave them made. One said buy toilet paper, paper towels, etc. & the other said nothing about that. So, maybe update the house book because this caused some confusion. Also, we had some lights & remotes that weren't working because of burned out bulbs & dead batteries in remotes & flashlights. These things were taken care of quickly by staff. A ping pong table was in the game room, but there were no balls to play with. We also didn't know if we should be using the blue recycling cans. We would have liked to do that as we hated throwing away all the paper, cardboard & plastic containers, so instructions on that would have been nice. Also, the tv in the bedroom w/ the king & 2 twins was not working correctly....the picture was fuzzy. All relatively small issues, but just want you to know about them. We had a wonderful stay at this home and plan to return to Hawaii very soon.

Call me before you make a reservation. I may be planning a trip to the North Shore at the same time and this is the place I choose to stay. Surfing in front. Centennial, CoWedding on the North Shore
Left on 04/26/2008 for a stay in July 2007
I loved the house, it was even better than the pictures!! All 5 bedrooms were "true" bedrooms and it housed 5 couples very well. The beach in front and the porch were both perfect for my wedding. My only problem was with the management. They were very well informed that I was having a wedding, yet it seemed to be a crisis the day before the wedding. They also called and yelled at me the day of check-out for not having the front gait shut all week (it would have been more appropriate to let me know this was a standard the first time it was left open, there really was no need to yell). They also charged my credit card $1800 a month after I stayed there with no dissicussion or authorization, for "fees" not in the contract. This really was a dream house, but it has been a year since I have stayed, and I still get angery about the way I was treated by the management.

This is a fantastic beach house that is in a perfect location on the North Shore. It is close to Haleiwa and yet still out in the 'country'. Two families with 7 kids ranging in age from 8 months to 18 years had plenty of space with room to spare. The beach is beautiful, private, and perfect for playing in the sand and ocean; the deck and hot tub are terrific with amazing views; and the house is comfortable, casual, and comes with everything you need for a relaxing Hawaiian vacation!

We did notice a rodent problem in the kitchen. Although we never did see "it", alot of our food containers were chewed through, so we ended up storing our food in the microwave or the oven to protect it. House was generally pretty clean. Great secure area for parking. We had three vehicles and it was no problem. Great beach front deck and beach access. We felt very private. We would rent again for sure. Back yard was very kid-friendly.

Although we live in Hawaii, We have rented this beach house every summer for 6 years. Our family has built memories here that you cannot get anywhere else. The house is Perfect. Not pretentious, nice & large enough for many. Set on the sand with a lovely deck to excape the sun & sand when needed. The view & sunsets are undescribable. The hot tub allows the adults to enjoy the most beautiful evening sunsets too. A grass yard to play games. The turtles are endless, they swim back & forth all day long. I wish I could live there ! Enjoy !!!
