The location was excellant! House is right off the water and I enjoyed getting up early in the morning and having coffee while sitting on the dock and listening to the water, basking in the sunlight. In the evenings the blanket of star's overhead provided a chance to reflect on the beauty of nature and the wonder of the universe. The place was far enough away to feel I had escaped the hectic pace of city life and only a short drive away from anything I could imagine I needed, including shopping, sight-seeing, beaches, and night-life. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to returning for another great escape!

I enjoyed my stay at the Platte River House. Being able to wake up each morning to the sound of the river and taking a cup of coffee out on the deck was just the beginning to a wonderful day. The house is centrally located. It was just a short driver over to the Frankfort/Elberta area to hit the beaches of Lake Michigan. It is equally close to the wineries in the Grand Traverse area. And of course, the river itself, kayaking, fishing or just enjoying the view. The beds were comfortable and there was always enough hot water for us all to take showers. I've recommended this vacation house to my friends and family.

The location, just one block from all the conveniences one would need, seems like a slice of paradise with the beautiful river flowing outside the sunlit patio. Great, roomy accommodations, excellent service and hospitality. A great location for either families or solo visitors.
