Blue Moon Cabana is a private beachfront house for rent facing the Caribbean Sea in the lovely Garifuna fishing village of Hopkins, Belize.
The cabana is centrally located in one of the most popular areas of Hopkins Village and is within walking distance of grocery stores, restaurants/bars, shops, and other popular establishments. It has a full-service kitchen (cook not included!), 2 bedrooms with full-size beds, living room with full-size futon, and a beautifully tiled bathroom.

So hated to leave! The Cabana was wonderful! Security is very good also. Mirko and annett were excellent hosts! Mirko arranged for transportation back and forth to dentist plus arranged tours for us. Can't wait to return! This wil always be our first choice for a vacation. Hopkins is a wonderful place and we were able to get to know many of the locals who we still communicate with by email!

Mirko was so helpful from the first moment I contacted him. This was the perfect place to stay in Hopkins. We loved being in the "real" part of town as opposed to where all the resorts are. To me, Hopkins is not about lying around by a pool. You can do that anywhere. This to us was the lap of luxury as "adult" travelers staying in really rustic (but mostly amazing!) places elsewhere in Belize. This was our splurge. Full and totally decked out kitchen, huge deck, private beach. Crazy! We cooked up a storm, enjoyed our hot showers, loved the comfortable bed, electricity, etc. I wouldn't think twice about staying here again. Absolutely lovely.

My husband and I just returned from a fabulous holiday in Hopkins! I could tell from the Vrbo listing and reviews that Blue Moon Cabana would be perfect for us and we were not disappointed! The cabana was just as advertised and most of all clean and well maintained by our hosts, Mirko and annette. And a special thank you to Marie next door (so sweet) for maintaining the yard. If you want luxury, this option may not be for you. It's a little cabin on stilts - cute, comfortable, has everything you need, and it's right in the center of a bustling little Garifuna village, making everything very convenient. Most importantly, it's right on the beach, you'll love the beautiful sunrises from the deck! You have grocery stores, gift shops, restaurants/bars very close by, and if you wish to venture a little further and don't care to walk, you can rent dirt bikes, bicycles (we used Mark's Bicycle Rentals, main intersection), golf carts, or take a taxi. We enjoyed waking up early each morning to roosters crowing, the beautiful sound of tropical birds singing and the sounds of the village coming alive - but if you like sleeping in, bring earplugs. Remember, you are living right in the village, not staying in a remote resort far from town. We found the people of Hopkins friendly & welcoming and felt safe walking anywhere in the village, day or night. Mirko is always available to attend to anything you need and will be happy to arrange any activity in/around Hopkins or beyond that you may wish. He is a trusted professional and will take very good care of you. The village restaurants are just tiny little places, but all serve wonderful food at reasonable prices. Our favourites were the Driftwood Bar and Pizza Shack (north end on the beach) Iris's Sunnyside Up (south end), Thongs Cafe (just around the corner) and Frog's Point (near the main intersection). Mirko - a huge thank you for everything, we had a wonderful time and would definitely return!

The cabana is in the center of town and still has some isolation. Being right on the beach is great. Wake up in the morning and run out and play in the waves!
It is within easy walking distance to many of the best restaurants in Hopkins and the local markets and even Caitlyn's Bakery!
We stayed for the 1st 3 weeks of September and had a fantastic time. The neighbor Marie and her family are very nice and pleasant. When the men came back from their fishing and were cleaning the fish by the sea they were excited to share their knowledge of the fish, cleaning and preparing the fish.
Will definitely go back again! -

We had a wonderful stay at blue moon cabana. it is a lovely spot in a nice, quiet little town. Mirko, the property manager, arranged several day tours for us- the highlight being a snorkelling trip with a local fisherman. The ocean was so clear and we saw an abundance of sea life with colourful pristine corals.
The cabana is nicely furnished, clean and quite new. The neighbor who is also the gardener, is available to cook yummy local meals.

My wife and I stayed @ Blue Moon Cabana for our honeymoon. It was such a restful & pleasant experience. Everything (restaurants, supermarket, fruit/veggie stand) was so close, the locals were super friendly, and the neighbors were amazing. Mirko was so helpful, booking 2 trips for us during our stay that were both great, one snorkeling venture (which I highly recommend!) and a zip-lining & mountain hiking experience.
I would strongly recommend Blue Moon Cabana to anyone who wants to vacation to a place void of a ton of tourists, but is still not far from fun!

My wife and I came here on our first leg of our honeymoon trip to Belize. We were warmly greeted by Mirko, the property manager, and taken to our little cabana right on the ocean! The view was spectacular and the cabana was amazingly clean and beautifully decorated! One of our favorite activities was relaxing in the hammocks on the cabana porch in the cool ocean breeze. One of the best things was that Mirko was just an email away. We emailed him about a little problem, something extremely minor, and without hesitation he was there in less than a half hour to remedy the situation. He arranged everything for us from trips to transportation. If you can, have Mirko arrange a fishing/snorkeling trip with Patrick, a friendly local guide who will take you around to the most beautiful spots. We caught a total of 5 fish and had an amazing time-well worth the money and the appropriate tip for Patrick! Can't say enough about this place. The locals were friendly and warm. Whenever we needed directions somewhere they were always willing to help us out. Everything is within walking distance of the cabana and we felt very safe walking the streets both day and night. Thanks again for such a wonderful, relaxing and stress reducing leg of our honeymoon!! We highly recommend the Blue Moon Cabana!"

One could not ask for more. The Bluemoon Cabana was perfect. Morning coffee looking out over the Caribbean and the stars at night are like nothing you can imagine.
There were no amenities the cabana lacked. Complete kitchen with anything you might need to put together a delicious meal.
If you are not into walking, I would suggest renting a golf cart for your stay, as the town is long and narrow, running along the shoreline.
Fresh bread every weekday from the outdoor ovens, fruit and vegetables from the produce stand just minutes from the cabana. The townspeople were ever so friendly and helpful.
It was difficult to leave and fly back to reality.

Our stay at Blue Moon Cabana was great. Hopkins is a nice small town and BMC is right in the middle of it all. Great facilities, great beach and it is managed extremely well. I would recommend a stay at Blue Moon Cabana for the water activities, surrounding hiking activities and for a relaxing vacation. Thanks to all the help Mirko gave us during our stay.

We only had three nights to spend at the end of a week in Belize, but we loved the Blue Moon Cabana! The porch was like a slice of heaven as we enjoyed the cool breeze off the ocean sipping rum punch. The cabana had everything we needed. Kim thought of everything when she built and equipped this place! We were warmly welcomed by both Mirko, the caretaker, and Marie, the next door neighbor, and all went smoothly to make our stay more than perfect. We highly recommend the Blue Moon as a place to kick back and relax!

Two nights were not enough! What a great place to relax and enjoy the beach.
The Cabana was well equipped, tidy and clean. Mirko, the manager, made us feel at ease and was a great source of local info and Marie, next door, would provide a meal on request.
The local restaurants were better than expected.
Can't wait to return. -

Beautiful cabana with a full kitchen, very nicely built and decorated. Wonderful deck that overlooks the ocean and has deck chairs and hammocks! We enjoyed our time there very much. Mirko was a great property manager, very informative about Hopkins and Belize in general. He was instrumental in making our trip enjoyable. Oh, and the food from next door was wonderful.

Superb and convenient central location, very well equipped, and providing excellent ventilation off the water in the heat of the day. Thank you for letting us use your second home for a month - we enjoyed ourselves immensely and Marie looked after the place very well and us also. Mirko and annette provided good service and advice. The shaded porch area with hammocks and chairs provided an excellent outdoor living space during the day. Hopkins and the people we loved and it was an overall fantastic experience. Will highly recommend to friends.

Blue Moon Cabana is a really great, comfortable, oceanfront cabin with a wonderful view. It is quiet and very tastefully decorated.
The town of Hopkins has some really nice restaurants and.
We loved our snorkelling trip with the kids! The ruins were impressive as well.
We will return to Hopkins and Blue Moon Cabana!!!

This was our first family vacation to Hopkins Village, Belize and we didn't want to leave.
We couldn't have asked for a better accommodation! Our family (3 adults, 3 children) loved the Blue Moon Cabana. The cabana was even more beautiful than described. It's very peaceful and relaxing and fully equipped with just about everything a family will need.
Marie, the next door neighbor and her family were a delight and her low price Garifuna/Belizean meals were delicious.
The only con I have, is that I had to leave! I would recommend this property to anyone, especially those travelling as a family.
