      Enjoyable Stay

Left on 05/23/2011 for a stay in March 2011

The cabin is fairly off the main road, clean, comfortable and with niceties like a fireplace and a hot tub. Every time we thought we needed a small item, we found it available. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

      Great cabin w/ beautiful grounds!

Left on 04/29/2011 for a stay in March 2011

The cabin is clean, well stocked w/ all the essentials(linens;kitchen etc), and very comfortable. The stream coming through the property w/ its beautiful waterfall was amazing. The setting was as beautiful as most of the natural areas/parks we visited in the area. The location was remote, but for us that was part of the appeal. The owners answered our questions prior to arrival and the whole process was simple.

This was a wonderful, relaxing cabin to visit!

Left on 04/28/2011 for a stay in March 2011

Winding Falls cabin was wonderful! It looks and feels just like a modern cabin should! Wood ceilings, walls, floors and a big stone wood burning firplace. The kitchen was very well stocked and had all the comforts of home. The big whirlpool tub in the bathroom was very relaxing after a day of hiking all the local trails. The decor was well done and their was a lot of attention to detail. We also liked that they had phone service so that my husband and I could be in touch with our children at Grandma and Grandpa's house if they needed us! Most cabins don't have phones and cell phone reception is very spotty in the area. There is also wifi there which we used to look up local hiking trails and info. The cabin is very secluded and peaceful with a long winding driveway leading back. Take is very slowly if you visit during snow even with 4wd. There are lots of great little hiking trails all over the property that go down to a creek and water fall and back up the mountain. The screened front porch was very nice to relax on while we had steaks on the grill!

We loved the cabin and would stay there again in a second. Hot Springs is a great town to visit if you want to enjoy outdoor activities and the cabin is a great place just to relax and recharge. We ate at the Iron Horse Restaurant and it was good. We even got live music with dinner. But there are very few retail/commercial establishments in Hot Springs. That was exactly what we wanted but I only mention that because this is not a town with bustling shopping districts and tons of restaurants and such if that is what you are after. We stopped on our way in to pick up our groceries and we put them in a cooler because the store was about 45 minutes away. We very much enjoyed our stay and will enjoy it again next time we visit the area.

Amazing Cabin! Beautiful Location! Kind Owners!

Left on 03/17/2011 for a stay in December 2010

I spent weeks trying to locate a cabin to rent for our honeymoon. It was a bit challenging as I was studying in Thailand at the time and I am extremely finicky about things like this-- even more so than my wife-to-be. After much searching on-line, reading so many reviews, and great deliberation, I settled confidently on Winding Falls Cabin. I had interviewed my fiance' and asked her what characteristics she would want in a honeymoon getaway. She used the following words to describe what she thought would be ideal: cozy; cabin; good kitchen; private; mountains; forested (vs. perched on an overlook); hiking; close to small town (vs. big city); near water would be nice (but not necessary). I wrote down her description. I was so happy to discover this cabin as it so closely resembled what my wife-to-be thought would be fantastic.

I kept the cabin's website and description a surprise, only providing clues to the general location. She was thoroughly surprised and impressed. It was so wonderful to discover this cabin. Steve and Cindy, the owners, have made this place to be an amazing retreat. It is so marvelously relaxing. The inside is super clean and so well decorated. We enjoyed walks through the snow and along the river, great cooked meals in their beautifully furnished kitchen, relaxation in front of the fire, and so much quiet and peace. What a joy to pull out the notebook with her original description from months before and see how closely it paralleled the qualities within and surrounding Winding Falls Cabin.

On an interesting note, the day we were to arrive there was almost two feet of snow, so we were delayed in getting into the cabin by two days. Steve and Cindy were very open about the situation providing updates, extremely fair in the arrangements, and went out of their way to make our time there very special. It was a memorable place for us to unwind and relax for us "newlyweds" and one we plan to return to in the future.

The cabin and their owners are well respected from what we learned in town and for sure that was our experience. Thank you, Steve and Cindy, for such a wonderful week at Winding Falls.

This vacation rental was a real gem. It was the perfect size for a romantic get-away, or a break with friends. It's gorgeous and secluded. This is a place meant to be enjoyed for its location. It's a great place to get away from everything and simply relax. I'd go back in a heart beat.
