My adult daughter and I planned a short trip to Hot Springs to celebrate a milestone in her life. I wasn't sure where to stay, but when I saw the photos of Riverdance and read the reviews I made my choice, hoping it was the right one.
Indeed it was! The owners of Riverdance were delightful and extremely attentive to our needs. The accomodations where beautiful and inviting. The view of the mountains and the French Broad River were gorgeous! I would highly recommend Riverdance to anyone who is looking for an exerience they won't soon forget. -

Picturesque setting, perched high above the river, hosted by a lovely couple Callie and Dave. They couldn't be more helpful and friendly. Felt like family from the first moment. Loved the decor, the yummy breakfasts each morning were a great treat too! Will definitely return next time we are in the States, it's such a shame australia is so far away! Or we'd be back next week.

Pembroke Pines, FloridaAbsolutely Wonderful!

What a great place! The pictures don't do this wonderful timber frame house justice. The views of the mountains, valley, and river from the back porches are just gorgeous! The rush of the water and the chirping of the birds and tree frogs is sooo relaxing! The rooms were large and the beds comfortable. The rooms (even the bathroom) were spotless. We had the use of the full kitchen, laundry, great room, wooden decks, and the entire bottom floor as well. Callie and Dave actually left the morning after our arrival trusting us with their home but John Green the communities caretaker, checked on us almost every day making sure we were comfortable and happy. he even lent us some fishing gear. (He said there was trout in the river but we didn't catch any :-) )
The only negative thing I can say is the distance to the nearest store or restaurant but that is an extremely minor thing in our book!
If you want a quiet getaway, far from the city noise and full of peace and quiet stay at River Dance. I know that we will definitely stay there next time we are in North Carolina!
Thank you for a wonderful time Callie and Dave!Response from Ann C Wellendorf - 04/17/2013
Owner
The pleasure was really ours to share our home and the beauty of this part of North Carolina with your family. Dave and I only wish that we did not need to head out to Indiana to see our son so soon after your arrival as we would have enjoyed spending time with you, Margie and Mike. Bear River is most fortunate to have Jonnie Green to take care of, and watch over the community which he cares so much about. So Dave and I along with our four footed friend Midge will certainly look forward to your return when the mountains call once again. Until then take care of yourselves!

Whittier, North CarolinaA fantastic place to stay!

We really did not dream our trip to Riverdance would be as wonderful as it turned out to be. All the amenities were listed on their website. It met all criteria. But the beauty of the physical location with its magnificent vistas from the porches was equaled only by the warmth of the owner/managers. They went all out to ensure we had everything we needed and more. The continental breakfasts far surpassed our expectations...fresh baked goods from local bakery; multiple choices of fresh fruits, cereals, juices. The owners also were helpful to give hints about local sightseeing, a nearby mineral spa, and a 5 star meal at the Hot Springs Mt. Magnolia Inn. Pricing was modest and fit our pocketbook quite nicely. We are definitely going back and recommend this to all our friends and family.

Left on 09/01/2011 for a stay in August 2011
River Dance is awesome! We loved the views. The property itself is at the top of a residential neighborhood, but you really feel like you are in the mountains. The house is magnificent and the rooms are immaculate, private, spacious and very comfortable with all conveniences of home if only your home was in such a magnificent location.
The owners, Dave and Callie are very accommodating, providing perfect directions and helpful information and suggestions for exploring the towns and trails in western North Carolina. The location is close to restaurants and shopping as well as downtown asheville and the local attractions.
Callie is wonderful to work with and makes you feel so welcome. The hosts even provided a basket filled with yummy snacks to enjoy while there. From making the reservations to checking out, everything went smoothly. They were extremely prompt and thorough in all their communications and were wonderful "hosts" - I wish a typical hotel had half their thoughtfulness and attention to detail!
We were impressed with the care and attention that Dave and Callie had taken to see that we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. We felt pampered and welcomed, and I do not hesitate to recommend their accommodations to everyone.
Thank you, Callie for everything. -

As always, when you feel at home somewhere you would like to stay longer. RiverDance met all of our expectations. Callie and Dave were more than accommodating. We were originally disappointed that they didn't offer a "hot", home cooked breakfast but the continental breakfast was excellent. We left happy!

Hudson, OhioPrivate, comfortable lodging with magnificent views
Left on 08/23/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We recently returned from our second visit to River Dance. It was even nicer than our first stay. Dave and Callie have created an oasis in the mountains, far away from the commercial hotels but not too far from the attractions of asheville. River Dance is private, comfortable, with magnificent views of the mountains from the multiple deck levels and the hot tub. With attentive hosts, River Dance is a wonderful diversion from the chain hotels located in asheville and the surrounding area. While only a little more than a half hour from the Biltmore Estate and other asheville attractions, River Dance is a quiet retreat after a busy day of activities in western North Carolina.

RiverDance was recommended to me as a beautiful place to stay while I was in the area for a vacation/business trip. Callie and Dave were absolutely wonderful hosts! The view from my bedroom window and from the deck just outside my bedroom was incredible! I had all the privacy I wanted, yet Callie and Dave were right there in case I needed anything. I will definitely go back and have already been talking with some friends about a "girls" weekend there.

It was our 10th anniversary. We had the bottom floor (an apartment really with a huge private porch) to ourselves with a wonderful hot tub that overlooked the valley and mountains. Very romantic! They even welcomed our little dog. It's a beautiful, spacious Timberframe home and our warm and friendly hosts served us a delicious continental breakfast as well!
And it's 2 minutes from Hot Springs. What a find and value!! You've gotta go!
