Additional Location Information
Icandi Hideaway is a luxury villa located in the South East of Thailand and is approximately a three-hour drive from Bangkok. It is situated in a small village called Ban Nong Bua which is in the province of Prachuapkirikan.
The villa is set in two acres of gardens and is a few minutes drive from two wonderful beaches. Many small boutique hotels are located along the beach road and offer great services and food. There are also some small convenience stores dotted around the area. A beautiful Wat (temple) is a couple of minutes from the house with another in the next village. There are lots of local beachside restaurants for a nice evening meal or an evening drink.
The nearest small town is Paknampran, a 10-minute drive away. Pranburi is 15 minutes drive and is predominately a Thai town but it has a large Tesco Lotus supermarket, along with various restaurants and retail shops in the complex.
The luxury villa is a few minutes drive from a glorious golden beach on one side of Khao Kalok whilst the other side has an expansive quiet beach which runs for about two miles with the views of the 300 mountains in the near distance. A fishing fleet sails from this beach daily and the views are incredible, definitely picture postcard material.
This area is great for cycling as it is flat so not too strenuous. Sam Roi Yot's 300 mountains are a 15-minute drive south and are well worth the trip. Beautiful beaches, mountains and caves, with masses of orchids and birdlife are there for the able bodied to see. There are many very good golf courses within an hours drive of the villa for those who are golf enthusiasts.
Hua Hin town, where the Royal family’s summer palace is situated, is 25 minutes drive and has evolved into a Thai/western town. Many large hotels and bars are here and two great night markets run most nights of the week. A large shopping mall is there with many different types of stores in a lovely air conditioned environment.

Marlborough, UKA superb villa in a truly relaxing setting
Left on 05/15/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We thoroughly enjoyed a family reunion for a week at Icandi. Beautiful villa with excellent facilities in a peaceful rural setting with lovely inland views, 5 mins away from Khao Kalok and beach. The villa is very spacious and fitted out to a very high standard, and the staff were very helpful. All in all a geat place to stay, utterly relaxing and thoroughly recommended. You'll need transport (which owners can arrange) as, beyond the immediate beach, most attractions (parks, golf, Hua Hin etc) and shops (Tescos) are 30-45 mins drive away. The owners could not have been more helpful in arrangements throughout.

Owner
Thank you for taking the time to write your review, we really appreciate it and we are very happy you enjoyed your family reunion. Icandi is the perfect location for groups such as your family, plenty of space to relax and enjoy time together. It has been a pleasure helping you organise your holiday and thanks for your kind words. We hope to be able to welcome you again sometime in the future.

SingaporeA perfect hideaway from the busy city!
Left on 05/14/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Searching for a big house that could accommodate 12 people together was not an easy task. Most villa requires a min stay of 7nights for bookings. Icandi-Hideaway made an exception for us instead!
I am so glad and thankful for Gayl's kind attention and assistance, as I almost got myself into a scam! After I sent my enquires on various villas, I received 2 separate replies for Icandi-Hideaway enquiry. One was from Icandi, Gayl. The other was unknown. To make sure I liaise with the correct in charge, I verified with Gayl and asked if the 2nd email reply was their 3rd party agent, or if they were linked. Negative was what I get from her.
A kind note to all, do make sure you get responds from the rightful owners whenever you make any enquiries. Go to their official website for the rightful details. Even if the reply may seem to be from a 3rd party agent, verify with the main owners. Otherwise, send the details you received on your enquiries, to flipkey for verification. This is to avoid getting yourself into such scam.
Back to my reviews on Icandi. Pre-trip arrangements and booking were done with Gayl and John. Their responds were so prompt, informative and efficient. It was really more than anything I could ask for.
The house is at Pranburi, slightly further than huahin from bangkok. If you want to enjoy yourselves in a non-commercialized town or village, Pranburi is perfect for you.
My friends and I were so glad that we found this beautifully done up house as part of our Thailand trip. We asked for quietness and sufficient activity space enough for all of us and we got it all. The decorations were nicely done up by John and family which makes us felt so cosy!
John was at Icandi throughout our stay. He and Dear was very very hospitable. We totally enjoyed our 2nights short stay and we will be back for our group trip again for a longer stay!!
Remember to contact Icandi-Hideaway directly for bookings!! :)

After a 'rocky' start with the scam, we were happy to reassure you that all was well. I would like to thank you for all your help with that issue. We are so happy that you and your friends all enjoyed the facilities and service and for your compliments. We all try very hard to ensure our guests have the most memorable stay, and hope that we will see you again in the near future. It would be a pleasure to have you stay with us again. Love the photographs too!

We were a party of mixed ages (5-76 yrs.) meeting halfway between England and New Zealand for my 70th. birthday celebrations. One of the group has ms and is in a wheelchair. How lucky we were to have found Icandi. Nothing was too much trouble to, either the owners of Icandi, or the lovely lady who manages the villa. So much care and thought went into the smallest details. The villa is stunning, we all felt like special Vips there and there it was so much fun for the three children. The owners arranged our transfers from Bangkok and the vehicle we hired and everything was perfect. A car is useful but the beach is only about 15 mins walk.Best thing - sheer luxury. Worst thing - leaving Icandi.

It was a pleasure to help organise your 70th birthday celebration at Icandi with all your family. We enjoyed corresponding with you over the year to ensure you had everything you needed, to make it the most memorable occasion, especially for you. We are rewarded by the lovely words and feelings you gave, and thank you for choosing to stay with us. We hope we may see you again sometime.

Left on 01/29/2013 for a stay in October 2012
A two week holiday was not enough at this amazing place & nobody wanted to leave! We have had a fantastic experience from start to finish and the location was great - very peaceful, away from the crowds yet close enough to enjoy everything Hua Hin had to offer. Gayl & John were so helpful when booking, they couldn't have been more informative about the villa and the local area when deciding to go there. They organised transfers and taxis when we needed them - they went above and beyond with arrangements and this was so helpful, especially when travelling in a group (age range from 8 months to 59). There was always more than enough space for the group, plenty of areas to congregate and have lovely evening meals together. We made good use of the facilities, cooked most nights either in the large kitchen or had bbq's over the pond, had pool competitions, swimming competitions and took time out to soak up the sun.
We have wonderful memories and we thank the staff for a fantastic time...we will be back -

I will get right to the point, if your are looking for a semi clean facility to enjoy with your family in the hot Thai weather, then this place is a really nice place. However, what you won't find is local food, a beach, a view, and culture. Being an avid traveller, I've had better times at a golf resort and spa and gave Icandi a try. I was happy it felt like home but everything has to be ordered in... food, transportation, massage, drivers, laundry, cleaning, everything. I would only recommend this place to people traveling in groups of more than 12 persons --- otherwise, try and book smaller suites long the beach and closer to eateries.

Ten of us stayed at Icandi to celebrate my birthday celebrations - we all agreed it was amazing! Delightful en suite bedrooms, 4 of which led out to the patio/pool area, the master suite was on the first floor which also housed lounge, dining room, kitchen with a 6th smaller bedroom beyond the kitchen.
A very clean, large salt water swimming pool (along with lilo's!) was well used, as was the large canopied day bed overlooking the pool. The bbq/breakfast area was a platform over a koi carp large pond - a wonderful treat to watch these fascinating fish. The extensive gardens beautiful - a daily walk around them was a must. Breakfast was included, which consisted of Thai and western food.
We hired a people carrier which I feel is a must as Icandi is a little in the middle of nowhere. There are 2 bicycles for use which were fine to get to the local beach (not very nice beach but some fun restaurants). Transport definitely needed to get to the Supermarket and Hua Hin (fabulous night market) although Icandi do hire a 7 people vehicle for around 40 pounds a day I believe. The housekeeper there will also do shopping for food for a fee.
The place is immaculately clean, 2 employees tidy and clean the place daily, beds are changed twice a week (lovely cotton linen!)
I booked Icandi about a year before we went. Gayl (owner) in the UK was unbelievably helpful and I was hugely impressed with her patience and kindness.
All-in-all we all agreed that another stay is a must! We will definitely be going back. -

The house is amazing, even more beautiful than the photographs. We spent most of our time either in the swimming pool or sitting in the BBQ sala, perfect! The garden is absolutely stunning, with lots of different seating areas so no problem if you need a few moments peace.
The staff are welcoming, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Dear, the house manager, was always available when we needed her and we can't thank her enough for helping to make our stay so memorable and hassle free. -

At the very last moment we decided to go for some "rest" after a week in Bangkok. This brought us to Icandi, unfortunately only for 4 days. The house and the gardens are great, we rented the car and made some lovely trips in the area. The beach and very nice restaurants are close. I would say nothing more to wish for a perfect holiday time and we certainly hope to come back again, but then for a longer stay than 4 days.
Thanks again ! -

A wonderful family holiday. The house was fabulous for relaxing and much fun was had with the children playing in the pool and around the house and beautiful gardens. Outside the house were great adventures up the mountains, around the caves, elephant watching, boat trips, the beaches and the colourful markets. Every aspect of our holiday was everything we were hoping for and more.

We have just returned from a very relaxing two week holiday at Icandi Hideaway. It is the perfect place for a quiet "get away from it all" type of holiday. The villa is of an exceptional standard and is set in the most amazing gardens with an abundance of orchids and various other exotic plants. The views of the "Burma Hills" and the "Sunsets" are breathtaking. The Villa is luxuriously equipped with everything you could possibly want from the extremely comfortable beds to the large and very welcoming pool, which are all kept beautifully clean and well maintained by the very friendly and unobtrusive staff. A visit to the National Park to see the elephants is a must, as is a visit to the nearby city of Hua Hin to shop in the night market and sample the local cuisine. If you are looking for a very relaxing holiday in luxurious surroundings then this is the place for you.

We spent our honeymoon in this wonderful villa and it was the best decision we took!
Spacious and luxurious rooms - a beautiful garden with rare flowers everywhere, hammock, wood tables, etc..
The pool-area is a dream, you can hear high-level music in each corners...
This is the perfect house for a romantic holiday or a group of friends -also with kids.
In 5 minutes you can reach the beach where you can get a massage or a delicious traditional meal or you can watch the fishermen coming back...
Thank you again to the house manager and the owner for allowing us to experience this fantastic honeymoon.
We will come back for sure!! -

Arriving is like coming to an Oasis after a long journey. The house is surrounded by gardens full of fragrence. The rooms are spacious with everything on tap. A great pool for cooling off after a hot day with a well stocked refridgerator to cool the rest of the body. Close by is the sea and a lovely breeze all day to keep you cool. Plenty of restaurants within reach and interetsting walks for the evening. A paradise in paradise!

My wife and I spent a two week holiday at Icandi and in truth we just didn't want to leave. The pictures just do not do the property the justice when you see it inthe flesh. Everything you read is as it really is, clean, state of the art, spacious is an understatement, lost to do or if (like us) you just wanted a relaxing chill out holiday then you would find it hard to rival the experience. My wife and I also spend a few days on the Island (Koh Tao) which was fantastic, but we couldn't wait to get back to the splendors and level of luxury which Icandi provided. Will never forget our wonderful experience and cannot wait to book again.

The stay was everything that you could possibly expect. Luxury and comfort in every room. I stayed with two friends at Icandi - Hideaway. We all had large double rooms with all the modern technology and high quality facilities you could possibly need. Our rooms opened on to a very large spacious pool and sun bathing area with large outside eating area. Ideal for a family holiday or with a large group of friends.
Already planning my next trip out there!
