One of our best family holidays in Thailand

Left on 04/19/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We have lived in Thailand for 14 yrs and were looking for a quiet escape from the rat race in Bangkok for Thai New Year. This villa was perfect!

The villa was smaller than we had anticipated from the photos but still more than adequate for our family of 5 with three children age 7,9,11. It was immaculately clean when we arrived and had every thing we could have needed - linen, towels, kitchen equipment, dishes, a great washing machine etc. Wi-fi wasn't working while we were there which was unfortunate. We loved the lounge chairs on the porch and the small, also immaculately kept, garden with a wall for privacy. We ate outside most meals as there is a great stone table and chairs in the garden with fans :-) The villa has a simple Thai kitchen which was more than adequate for us to be self-catering.

The house is in a Thai 'muubaan' or gated community of about 25 detached houses. Ted, our representative, was outstanding, the clubhouse staff warm and helpful without being pushy and the security guards for the muubaan got our 'Friendliest Security Guards in Thailand' award by the end of the week :-)

The muubaan pool was 2 mins walk from the house and the kids were able to walk over on their own as there was about 1 car and 2 motorbikes going along the road outside the house per day! The pool was spotlessly clean and perfect for the whole family to lazy around in most of the afternoon each day. Our kids enjoyed getting to know the local children in the pool but they never became intrusive or annoying. Great family community!

We have a car as we live in Thailand so getting out and about wasnt a problem for us. we were able to pop to the local Macro for supplies (10 mins away) and spent a day at HuaHin beach (15 mins drive) as well as chilling at the house. We weren't wanting to sight-see so this was a perfect location for us. If you want to get around the area and do touristy things then you will need to budget for taxis or hire a car as the villa is a little way out of town.

Our only minor gripe was that the house does not have an mosquito screens (usually standard in Thai houses). During the day we opened all the windows and doors and had beautiful breezes blowing through the house. By night fall the lack of screening meant we were forced to shut all the windows and use a/c as the ceiling fans were not adequate to keep us cool. Had there been screening we would have slept without a/c most nights. This increased our electric bill somewhat, which wasn't included in the price.

On a Thai budget the price did seem a little high for the size and location of the villa, but we would definitely look at returning to the villa again sometime soon. Everyone in the family loved this escape from the city!

Great place with excellent on site facilities.

Left on 02/26/2013 for a stay in January 2013

Enjoyed our stay here, very peaceful, you never know in Thailand if you will get barking dogs or roosters waking you, we had none of that. Loved the frogs that suddenly appear at dusk across the lawn. Superb and well priced food in restaurant, very secure complex and a fantastic swimming pool. It's a bit out of town but we just headed down and hired a moped for the 8 days, no issue at all. Also a good kids playground back on the main road which helped with the young ones. Thinking about going back again in July but at some point would love to return.

      Stay at Greenacres Villa

Left on 04/16/2012 for a stay in March 2012

I cannot fault this property, the correspondance or the assistance given by the owner and Ted the caretaker. This villa was exactly what we (an English/Thai family) were looking for. In 2008, we had paid nearly twice as much (around £400 per week) for a villa owned by a Thai person that was slightly nearer to the town but had fewer facillities (this was no farang price as my wife, a Thai national arranged this).
The property was exactly as described. Its location is quiet. It is situated on a small, gated estate about 1.5 km from the main road and in the other direction, another 500m, the road leads to a quiet Buddhist temple.
The villa is well maintained, well positioned and well sized. The site facillities are good. The restaurant food was good and very reaonably priced- similar to usual Thai, non- farang, restaurant prices. The swimming pool is perfect for all ages including my 3 years old step grand daughter and it never closes (I spent 6 of my 7 days there swimming at 7 am)
Ted the caretaker lives on site and is a straight-talking man who sorts out problems there and then and virtually bends over backwards to help. The slight niggle we did have was dealt with by him in an instant.
Because of the enjoyable time we had here we have already recommended this villa to 2 other families in the U.K.
