Additional Location Information

Bahías de Huatulco is a charming community and home to the Universidad del Mar (UMAR, University of the Sea) in the southern state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Though little known to U.S. citizens, Bahías de Huatulco is a popular vacation destination for in-the-know Mexicans, Canadians, Europeans and Snowbirds. It is emerging as an eco-friendly, green environment with 42,000 acres of preserved forest and 9 bays & 36 beaches along the Pacific Coast, allowing vacationers & tourists to enjoy a National Park system comprised of pristine beaches and ocean waters, unspoiled views, and mountains, jungles and rivers. Nearby villages include Santa Cruz and La Crucecita. The bays are named Santa Cruz, Chahue, Tangolunda, Conejos, Chacahual, Cacaluta, San Agustin, El Organo and Maguey.
