We love this house. It was a great place for a wedding with lots of room. The outdoor kitchen and bar area was a great place to eat and relax. The owner was excellent about getting any maintance issues complete. We would love to come back here for a family vacation.

Everyone was very nice that we dealt with. The house was laid out to have togetherness and privacy. The house had everything that we needed except food and sunblock. It was only a short drive to deep sea fishing

We really enjoyed the location of the home because it offered a great view of the water, a pool and great fishing. You could fish off the dock or by boat and catch plenty of fish. There was plenty of space inside and out for different ages. We were disappointed the hot tub was broken and the kitchen could be better stocked with dishes and cookware. Overall we had a great week and would stay there again.

The cottage provides a nice setting for family vacation. We were provided excellent linen service. The house provided lots of seating areas for all ages. The kitchen needs to have more small appliances and additional baking dishes. The outdoor seating was excellent.

My oldest daughter graduated from high school and we wanted to take her on a memorable trip. We allowed her to choose between this house and one with less "stuff" but on the ocean. She chose this house and we loved it. We had extended family who had young children. My daughter brought a couple of friends. There was something for all of us to enjoy and we were all glad this was the house we chose.

This is an awesome place. If you like the coastal area, you will love this house and grounds. Lots of parking space, great owner, the house is amazingly elegant as well as livable. Lots of kitchen, dining and relaxing areas. Plenty of sleeping room, and non-stop hot water on demand. And the outside cabana house is the best. Oh did I mention the boat dock?? Boat lift and small floating dock for jet skis or other small boats.

The Jewel was really a perfect location for our dual purpose family vacation & wedding. The house is even better appointed and layed out than the website shows, and everything went wonderful during our stay. The property was very well set-up for our wedding (60 guests) and reception. I highly recommend this property for any type of vacation.

Our family celebrated my mothers 75th birthday at Jewel of the Waterway. There was plenty of sleeping space for the 15 family members ages 1 to 75 who arrived from 6 states. The home is beautiful with great surroundings. We loved the outside kitchen and enjoyed the pool daily with the very warm weather that was here that week.

This was the only beach rental company I could find that had reasonably priced homes that would rent for the weekend (not week) and would allow more than 25 people (75 max) to attend a wedding. The backyard of this property was perfectly designed to meet our needs for an outdoor wedding on the water and reception with the georgeous house to act as an overflow and of course plenty of sleeping accomodations for the bridal party. Unfortuantley it started raining the night before during the rehersal and never stopped until 9pm night of the wedding. We were lucky to find a nearby church for the wedding and had the reception inside the house. Although it did not go as planned the house was still amazing - the bar house by the pool was my favorite in addition to the "Captain's Quarters" or master bedroom suite! The boat dock is an awesome place to sit and watch the sun rise or set if you can handle the wind. One negative - we had to check in late and that process was not very clear to us - the route we came required us to drive past the house an extra 20 minutes to go get the key only to find out it was a door code that had to be entered. Once we arrived we found every door except the code door unlocked which was annoying. I had a couple of issues along the way with communication breakdown with the rental company over things related to me planning my wedding but they were pretty quick to apologize. Overall we were thrilled with our decision to rent this property and we do plan to go back for a real vacation when we can actually enjoy it without the stress of a big event. It truly is our "Jewel of the Waterway"

My husband and I rented the Jewel of the Waterway for our wedding, reception and honeymoon getaway. We have always spent a great deal of time fishing in the waters on the Intracoastal Waterway, so we were thrilled to find this property! We were not interested in the touristy Emerald Isle so the location was perfect - secluded with every amenity imagineable. The home is very well furnished and we lacked for nothing during our entire stay. The pool was beautiful, the views were breathtaking, the weather was almost perfect the entire two weeks. I would recommend this vacation property to anyone with lots of family and friends, anyone who loves to fish off the pier or that has a boat, anyone that loves to entertain in an outside cabana with every single amenity available to accomodate almost any vacation whim that you might imagine. I would love to be able to come back but ...The service from Emerald Isle Realty was the only real downside to our entire experience. I sincerely recommend this property - give me a call if you have room for two more!

Our family has a wide age range and everyone enjoyed Jewel of the Waterway The inground pool with slide is large enough for several to play games. Others sat on the end of the dock for hours drinking coffee and watching for dolphins. Our photographers had a field day snapping away. The spacious rooms were a delight with their vivacious decorating theme. A great time!
