Stuart and annette could not have been more welcoming. Theer home is absolutely charming with magnificent views of the Sierra from their terrace. Stuart cooked a magnificent paella for us one evening which we ate on the terrace at dusk - a near perfect evening. Cortelazor Real is a little off the beaten track but well worth a visit. A. good base for exploring Huelva

NetherlandsA friendly casa in beautiful Cortelazor
Left on 06/09/2011 for a stay in October 2009
Casa annette feels like our home away from home in Cortelazor, Spain. Annette and Stuart have managed to create a beautiful, welcoming, colourful and culinary wonderful bed and breakfast. The small village of Cortelazor is beautiful and situated well for walks and such and it's very near aracena. Stuart and annette are able to provide all information one could wish for about the local ... anything.

We spent 2 wonderful days staying with Stuart and annette in their lovely andalucian village house in Cortelazor. They went out of their way to tell us of interesting things to do and places to see. All the rooms are very clean and it was nice to have some space to relax in that wasn't your bedroom. Would love to go back there again. Planning another visit in the next year.

LondonRefuge in "real Spain"
Left on 06/01/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Casa annette is a small B&B; in an peaceful village about 110km north of Seville. It is a unique place in many respects.
Firstly, the area it is in. The "Sierra de aracena" is a beautiful, unspoiled part of Spain, with lots of nature and history to explore. Food is excellent, simple but made from amazing ingredients (e.g. the famous Spanish cured ham is from the region, in autumn it is a heaven for wild mushrooms) - and it is cheap! The Sierra is place where you can easily spend a whole holiday to unwind or just for a short side trip up from Seville if you want to stray off the beaten tourist trail for a bit.
Secondly, Casa annette itself. A Hilton it is not but nor does it want to be. The rooms are all totally individual and cosy. Breakfast consists of home baked bread, home made jams and a variety of different dishes (sometimes pancakes, sometimes bacon and eggs - if you have a preference just ask) to make it a great start to every day.
Thirdly, and most importantly, the hosts. Annette and Stuart are passionate about ensuring their guests feel welcome and each guest is treated as an individual. If you need advice on Spain, have special dietary needs, want to have a good blather over a glass of wine or rather be left alone - they will go through great lengths to accommodate you.
We have stayed at Casa annette several times and having read my review you might have guessed that we are huge fans. Don't expect the bustle of the Costas or plastic wrapped slippers next to your bed, but go there if you want to have a relaxed and highly individual holiday in a stunningly beautiful part of Spain. -

EdinburghGreat accomodation and location
Left on 05/31/2011 for a stay in February 2011
After a very simple journey from Faro in a hire car we were welcomed by Stuart and annette, the owners. The accomodation is very comfortable and clean. Cortelazor is a lovely '2 bar' village giving you a great sense of peace and tranquility. Unfortunately we were there too early in the year and missed the grand opening of the new pool that has been built in the village. We will definitely be returning at some point.
