MukwonagoFantastic time at Crescent Beach
Left on 04/21/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We arrived to Crescent Beach and were greeted with 85 degree weather - sun shining - the sound of waves crashing on the shore. The condo was more than we expected - very large, comfortable, with everything you need, and a fantastic outdoor balcony. We spent 90% of our time on the balcony or the beach. This part of Puerto Rico is unbelievable - we never needed anything we couldn't find close by. Andi took great care of us - guiding us as to where to go, what to do, and how to get around. My teenage daughters were skeptical at first - but after one day they found there wasn't enough hours in the day for all their plans. We rented a golf cart for the week - made it really easy to get around and everyone enjoyed their turn at the wheel! I have already recommeded andi to several friends - we used to spend each spring in Florida -but we are now going to spend it in Puerto Rico. One week is not nearly enough to enjoy all that this beautiful island has to offer.

Left on 03/09/2013 for a stay in February 2013
I cannot imagine a more relaxing and enjoyable week. The weather was ideal- low 80's during the day, 70 at night. The apartment is spotless, well-maintained and beautifully furnished. The living room and master bedroom face the ocean. If you leave the windows open, you can hear the waves. The deck has a magnificent view of the water and is a perfect place to enjoy breakfast and lunch. For those who want to be active, there are many activities to choose from. The beach is clean and never crowded. There are several restaurants nearby that offer excellent food at very reasonable prices.

MassachusettsIt has it all!! Luxury, comfort & location
Left on 12/30/2012 for a stay in December 2012
From the first contact with andi, I knew we made an excellent choice. Descriptions and photos very accurate. We absolutely loved the very generous veranda. Had most of our meals out there. We had the master bedroom which has one of the most comfortable beds ever!! Add the sound of the breaking waves and it was bliss. Check in process was simple and the people at the reception desk were very nice, we even were offered a cool rum punch. The resort is very large but easy to navigate around. It was decorated for the holiday. We're from New England so it was delightful to see all the palm trees with holiday lights. Location was also in easy reach of rain forest and bioluminescent lagoon. We combined those 2 activities in the same day, rain forest midday and bioluminescent lagoon by electric boat early evening then had an awesome dinner at El Stacion, a converted petrol station not far from the boat launch. This allowed us to have a few really relaxing days poolside. We had a late flight from San Juan, so we left the condo early and toured Old San Juan before heading to the airport.
Recommend this condo highly

RutlandBest anniversary vacation ever!
Left on 12/21/2012 for a stay in November 2012
My husband and I had a wonderful 20th anniversary vacation at Crescent Beach 248. This apartment has all the comforts anyone could require. It is clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. We lived on the balcony, making full use of the ceiling fans and sun shades. The view is incredible, and we loved hearing the sounds of the ocean while we sipped a cold one!
We were here for a restful vacation and found exactly that. The beach is beautiful, and was never crowded. We enjoyed the cheeseburgers at the Bohio Beach Bar, and the pastries at David's Cookies.
We are already looking forward to our next visit! I hope it will be soon. -

Forney, TexasHoneymoon at Beautiful Crescent Beach
Left on 09/19/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We stayed at the condo for one week for our honeymoon. We visited several areas of Puerto Rico, including Humacao, Fajardo, and San Juan, and we found the Palmas Del Mar resort to be the most beautiful area. The condo was large, very clean, nicely furnished, and included every option that we needed. Andi supplied us with great information to help us plan our vacation. The view from the condo was amazing and the grounds were very well maintained. We often had the beach and the pools to ourselves. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a great bang for your buck vacation in Puerto Rico. If you visit PR, I highly recommend visiting the beautiful Flamenco Beach on Culebra, hiking through the El Yunke Rainforest, sailing/snorkeling with Erin Go Bragh Charters and visiting Old San Juan.

Pittsbugh, PAAwesome stay at Palmas Del Mar
Left on 08/20/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We couldn't have asked for a better location. The view in the picture is really what you'll see from the balcony. It's awesome! I can still imagine the sounds of the waves and the feel of the warm ocean breezes; it was paradise. If that wasn't enough, just steps away, in the courtyard, were the swimming pools to enjoy.
The condo itself was beautiful. It was smartly decorated, spacious, well equipped, and clean. Andi and John have thought of everything. We just loved lounging on the balcony, enjoying a good book and an ice cold drink. Or just a short walk down the beach is a small beachfront tiki bar/restaurant.
We spent about half of our trip on the property, bouncing between the beach and pool, and the other half prancing around the island. One thing you should know, if you're interested in the touristy things Puerto Rico has to offer, like we were, I would recommend having a car at your disposal. The Palmas Del Mar property is able to meet most of your needs (restaurants, small grocery/liquor store, tennis, golf, etc.), however, things like the rain forest, bio-luminescent bay, and Old San Juan, are not easily accessible without one. You also can rent a golf cart to get you around the property during your stay, but if you have a car, you really don't need one.Response from Andi and John Stix - 08/20/2012
Owner
Thank you for such a glowing response. I agree that having a car at your disposal is wonderful, if you like to take day trips and sight see. For those who do not like to drive in unknown areas, there are scheduled tours from a nearby hotel. Having either a car or a golf cart in Palmas makes life easier. :-)

Buffalo Grove, IllinoisHome away From Home?--Better!!!
Left on 07/16/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Our family of 4 takes a vacation each year and we don't ever go to a destination twice. We came last year and upon our return, booked for this year immediately and here is why. We don't like staying at hotels because we like to cook and spend time talking and playing games. We like to feel we are at a home away from home. We chose Puerto Rico as a destination and found this property at one of the online travel sites. We read the reviews but were sure the photos were touched up a bit or decades old. We took a chance...
Boy, were we glad we did! The owners are just amazing! They have thought of every detail and provide more info than you'll ever need before you get there. We had absolutely no apprehension when we arrived at SJU and got our rental car!
Check in was a breeze. The staff is so friendly and helpful-they get 6 gold stars for super excellent! Our jaws dropped when we entered the property! It was breath taking.
The condo reminds you of one of those makeover shows when they have the reveal... we walked into a vacationer's paradise. I had brought a suitcase full of things I thought we might need--wrong! This is a fully furnished unit with everything you need and then some! Think of everything you have in your living room--it is there! Think of everything you have in your kitchen--it is there! There was snorkeling gear, cocktail shakers, plenty of clothes hangers... the list is endless.
Each morning, we had breakfast on the wrap around patio overlooking the ocean. At night, we gazed at the stars and reflected on what family bonds really mean. We went deep sea fishing and brought our catch back to the condo to cook it! We got in several rounds of golf, hit the gym, walked the resort's beautiful grounds and enjoyed several meals at the many restaurants there at the resort.
There's so much to do in Puerto Rico--museums, the fort, rain forest, kayaking on the bioluminescent bay--you see, we just had to come back. You won't regret it.Response from Andi and John Stix - 07/23/2012

Thanks so for taking to time to write such an outstanding review. Now you know why we purchased here in Palmas- so that we can retire here during the winter months. John and I were so pleased that you fell in love with the area as much as we did. I try to explain to prospective renters that they are not checking in to a rental unit, but into my home. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our nest egg. We hope that you will return some day. - Andi and John

This was our first trip to PR. My husband and two grown daughters stayed at this 2bdrm. condo. It was beautiful as well as immaculate and very well appointed. Only suggestion would be to install a quieter a/C in the 2nd bdrm., it's rather loud.Other than that it's perfect! Andi was a pleasure to deal with & sent lots of info. about the area, where to eat, shop, sightsee etc.The complex was empty, we had the pool and ocean to ourselves. It was very relaxing. A car is a must if you want to sightsee. We visited Old San Juan, the Rainforest and snorkeled over at Culebra. Strongly suggest doing all three. We loved Puerto Rico!

Thanks for the great review. We work hard at keeping our apartment at a 5 star status. We wish you would have called us right away about the air conditioning , as it is a new unit. We've already called the property manager to check it out. As always, we strive to be good listeners.

This condo is absolutely amazing! The pictures look great online and the condo is even better in person. Equipped with everything you need, I can't imagine a larger or more perfect location. We lived on the balcony, eating our meals, playing games and just reading and relaxing. Additionally, Andi was so helpful with details--she sent suggested activities, directions, etc. Stay here if you can!

We couldn't have been more pleased. The Stix family is easy to work with and prepared us with all sort of good information before we left. Therefore, we were able to do everything that we wanted with ease. Their apartment is in a great location on the island and the waters are the Caribbean- very warm. The living room was spank new and beyond gorgeous. It was fully stocked and couldn't have been more comfortable. Andi even provided us with beach cushions that we used down at the beach. Couldn't have been luckier. This is the nicest villa we have ever stayed in.

We choose this location for our annual summer vacation with our son and 10-year-old granddaughter. It was perfect in every way. The view of the beach from the balcony was spectacular. Lots of amenities in the condo - all the service people were friendly and helpful. Andi phoned to make sure everything was okay and we had absolutely no problems. The complex is guarded 24-7 and is very safe. There were 3 pools in our complex, and the resort offers tennis, golf cart rentals, and a variety of shops and restaurants. Also plenty of activities like snorkeling, kayaking, hiking in the rain forest, and shopping in old San Juan. Not to mention just lazing around the condo and enjoying the beautiful beach.
The condo has two bedrooms and the master bedroom has a private entrance onto the balcony. There is plenty of living space and the four of us had a great time. -

How can you beat sitting on their wrap-around veranda overlooking the crystal blue Caribbean Sea? The yacht club and Tiki Bar are great fun. Loved to lounge every afternoon outside drinking cocktails with chips. The bed was comfy and the area was quiet and serene. You can play at the casino, hang out at the multiple pubs, or bring your own Dvds and watch them on their grand flat screen TV at night. Andi called to check up on us, which was quite nice.

This is not a rental; this is a home. I loved the new full-sized barbeque because I love to grill fresh veggies and have barbecued chicken. The place is totally updated and squeaky clean. No mildew smell to be found; fresh as a flower. Their unit is the only one with a full set of furniture, ceiling lights, and fans on their porch, which we lived on. Also, their balcony is one of the few that has pull down shades so you can eat outside without having the direct sun bake on you. This is our third year coming here and I hate leaving.

Can't think of anything but superlatives. The property is spacious, beautifully appointed, in a wonderful location, and within a first-class complex. Without a doubt one of my favorite places to travel to is Puerto Rico - it is so easy to get to from the States and is not overwhelmingly expensive like aruba (for example). I always would stay at one of those high end luxury hotels in San Juan or the Conquistador. However, after staying at this location, Crescent Beach in Palmas del Mar, I am now even more hooked on Puerto Rico! The condo is very spacious and easily fits a family of 5. Not to mention, I can literally hear the ocean while I sleep. There is no hassle in traveling to Crescent Beach and it is strongly recommended. I had no car, but that did not stop me, everything is walking distance or there is an easy to use rental place on the campus. Oh, and not to mention, there is a gym, pool, 50 ft walk to the beach, multiple delicious restaurants, a supermarket, casino, and two golf courses. Not bad!

New York, NYUnbelievable Vacation
Left on 01/11/2011 for a stay in December 2010
This was the most amazing place I've ever stayed. It's a gorgeous apartment that has a truly "homey" feel. It's literally on the beach, has a huge incredible porch that you can watch the sunset, and a huge amount of space. We literally fell asleep to the sound of the ocean every night, spent our days on the beach, or in the pool, mere steps from the apartment and the beach. The beauty of it all was that we could go to the beach or the without shoes on if we wanted to, it was that close.. so come lunch time, you just run upstairs and you're back in time for the next happy hour drink (medalla light was our drink of choice..but a pina colada never hurts!)
The restaurants are spectacular. I happen to be a seafood lover, and some of our favorite restaurants (i.e. Latino's La Brochette and Bistro Rico) had some of the most delicious seafood dishes I"ve ever had. Plus, I was eating amongst some red meat eaters (I happen to not be), who raved over the steaks and racks of lamb.
All in all, Palmas is spectacular, but it was really the apartment's placement in Palmas and the apartment itself (which has a million amenities, including a jaccuzzi bath and fully stocked kitchen) that made the trip something to be remembered indefinitely. -

Left on 11/10/2010 for a stay in October 2010
Not only is this rental property first class, so too is the owner! When our plans fell through with another property at the very last minute, Andi made arrangements for my family including my 20 month old daughter (high chair and crib) to stay in her condo with less than 48 hours notice. She was a miracle worker and the condo is just as accommodating as she is. Sadly we had lots of rain so we were extremely grateful for all the extras the condo includes right down to the waffle iron! The wrap around porch has spectacular views and was a great place to hang out even when it was raining. It is conveniently located within the resort including just a short walk to the Casino where we spent rainy afternoons. I can not recommend this unit strongly enough. You will feel like you are staying with a relative because you are so well taken care of and you won't ever want to leave. Thank you so much for a fabulous family vacation!

If you prefer to eat out there are many fine restaurants to enjoy at Palmas del Mar or nearby.

While away for three weeks, I like to tinker in the kitchen at night as a source of relaxation. While my husband enjoyed the large flat screen TV, I conjured up great dishes in this fully-stocked kitchen. On our second day, Andi, the owner, called to make sure that everything was in order. My coursin, who recommended this rental, was right on the money. Palmas del Mar in and of itself is a 5 star resort. But the Stix's extra care was the icing on the cake!

From the moment you walk into the Stix unit, your face lights up. Andi explained that their goal was to retire here, as they personally use the unit for their vacations. Believe me, you can tell that this is not a typical rental. Everything is finely pointed, down to the extra-thick cushioned seats on the porch, with fans, and shades. No matter the weather, we delighted the clear, unobstructed view of the beach and ocean each and every day.

Left on 06/23/2010 for a stay in May 2010
I love music, art, and yoga. When I got to the Stix's unit, the view of the ocean was outstanding on their wraparound porch. Would you believe that they have a dresser on the patio which is filled with everything for the barbeque and for exercising? I took their yoga mats and their small hand weights and stretched every morning, listening to music while overlooking their breathtaking view. Yum! The unit even has see-through blinds on the porch so that I could lower them slightly to keep out the sun while exercising, but still see the blue sky. I brought my watercolors and painted daily. But, what I liked most about this unit were all the extra jimmies: from area rungs to a loaded kitchen. There's nothing like waking up in the morning and placing your feet on a rug, rather than on cold tile. From the make-up mirrors, to luxury towels, to the extra cushions for the beach, this place is the most overstocked unit we have ever rented. And, Andi called us a few days into our stay to see if everything was going well. What she promised us is exactly what we got, and even more than expected.

I came with my boyfriend and another couple in late January -- escaping the freeze of NYC! My friend's description says it best, "Heaven on Earth". The apartment was gorgeous. Immaculately clean, full kitchen, two bedrooms, huge living room, a dining room, and quite possibly the most amazing porch I've ever been on in my life. It's literally on the beach - the views from the apartment are spectacular. The picture the homeowner posted is what you see from the porch, which happens to be huge. There's a table with chairs, lounge chairs, fans outside for when it's hot, shades to pull down -- you can tell the person got into it when they decorated. Palmas -- the resort we stayed at -- is pretty much like the Hamptons of PR. Awesome restaurants, a casino, wine bars -- and, get this, they travel via Golf Cart. They have separate roads just for getting around the resort. Best restaurants: Latinos, Tapas Bar (amazing sangria), and for a fancier evening on the harbor, Chez Daniel. We're coming back here again for sure. We decided to make it a yearly event with our friends. But- we met a chatty woman on the beach who said "Shhh! Don't tell people about this place! It's the best hidden gem". Too bad for her..I have a big mouth.
