Haverhill MaWonderful relaxing time at Cresent Beach
Left on 04/24/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We spent a week at Cresent Beach and really enjoyed it.
The beach was clean and uncrowded. The condo was just as
described; spacious, clean, and a great view.
The only thing that would have made it perfect is if it had a outdoor grill.
Unfortunately, when we were there it appeared that some of the restarants weren't open or only open a few days.
Response from Andi and John Stix - 04/25/2013

Glad you had a great time! We do have a large George Foreman grill. I wish you would have contacted us so that we could have shown you its location.

This was a wonderful property. It's always nice to be pleasantly surprised with the "real thing" verses the photos. The recent remodel was done very nicely. The kitchen had everything we needed, there is a nice large dining table and lovely living room furniture. Although the large deck is where we spent almost all of our time. There is a big table and a couple of lounge chairs on the deck. The sunscreens make it ideal for hanging out anytime during the day.
The master bedroom had a very comfortable bed and a huge closet that made it quite easy to unpack and organize our things. We were traveling with a one-year old so the twin beds in the back bedroom were not used. One potential negative is that the central air in the unit does not extend to the back bedroom. There is a wall unit which is quite loud. It didn't impact us, but might for someone else.
The unit has a washer and dryer - really great to have! The owner even provided a little container of laundry soap. I would bring your own as well if you think you're going to do a fair amount of laundry.
The beach is nice but it isn't a long stretch of shoreline for endless walks. The pool area was neat and clean - very quiet and peaceful.
The Las Palmas community is quite large and is really well cared for. Although if you are looking for authentic Puerto Rico - this feels like it could be anywhere is Florida. We really like to find local food when we are traveling. This area did not have places to eat that satisfied our desire for local Puerto Rican fare. We ended up driving 35 minutes north several times to go to Fajardo. There were lots of great places to eat up there.
This was a great place for a relaxing and quiet vacation (with a one year old). If you're looking for some night life this might not be the place.
The owner was responsive and easy to work with. Our only complaint would be the feeling of getting a bit nickel and dimed when we needed a crib and a high chair for our child. We felt we were paying 5 star rates but ended up having to pay more for kid accommodations. That has never happened when we've stayed at expensive hotels.
A travel tip - don't fly out of San Juan on a weekday morning flight. We left the condo at 6:00am for a 9:45 am flight and just about missed it (we had to return a rental car). The traffic was horrible. Bare in mind, it's 45 miles to San Juan. -

Crescent Beach 219 is comfortably decorated and has many details that make for a relaxing vacation. We ate most every meal out on the balcony. The balcony has ceiling fans and comfortable furniture that allow you to enjoy the view while eating. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals, but the location is perfectly situated to enjoy meals out at your choice of good restaurants when you don't feel like cooking. The full-size washer and dryer allowed us to pack light for a 2-week vacation. The pools are impeccably maintained, and the ocean view and sounds make this paradise!

I almost don't want to write this review because I'll be letting the secret out - but we had the best time and it was so beautiful I felt like I had to write a review!
We arrived and stayed for a week - it was so beautiful, it felt impossible to leave. The apartment is right on the beach, incredible location. Place was clean, well-maintained, the owner was helpful and responsive. 100% recommend this place to our friends/family (I've even told co-workers about it). The porch is huge and the view of the ocean/beach is insanely beautiful. We fell asleep every night to the waves crashing on the beach and during the day took dips in the pools, played volleyball on the beach, and swam in the ocean basically all day. It felt like a private beach - incredibly relaxing. We will be returning!! -

We feel very fortunate to have stayed in this amazing apartment on our vacation in Puerto Rico. It's beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and has amazing views of the ocean from the living room, master bedroom, and the huge covered balcony. The owner thought of everything to make guests feel comfortable. We were provided with us helpful information about Las Palmas and the surrounding area, and even received a call from the owner to see if everything was in perfect order. Would recommend this place highly, to anyone wanting a perfect Caribbean escape!

Every day we sat on their huge wrap around porch and talked about how we were in Paradise watching the Caribbean Ocean. Between the ocean downstairs with the three pools, we were in heaven every day. Loved Palmas with all their activities and restaurants. When the night was over, we curled around the large TV and wondered if we should retire here. Just didn't want to leave. Thanks andi and John!

ForneyHoneymoon at Crescent Beach in Palmas Del Mar
Left on 09/19/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We stayed at the condo for one week for our honeymoon. We visited several areas of Puerto Rico, including Humacao, Fajardo, and San Juan, and we found the Palmas Del Mar resort to be the most beautiful area. The condo was large, very clean, nicely furnished, and included every option that we needed. Andi supplied us with great information to help us plan our vacation. The view from the condo was amazing and the grounds were very well maintained. We often had the beach and the pools to ourselves. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a great bang for your buck vacation in Puerto Rico.

Location was wonderful but you will need a rental car! Owner very easy to work with and would always respond quickly to any correspondence. Owner very helpful with questions and concerns. Beautiful view from apartment overlooking pools and beach. You can hear the ocean from the master bedroom and balcony. Easy walk to beach. Beach and pools were busy on weekends but quiet during the week. Close to most places of interest (an easy drive). The apartment was very, very clean and furnished with new updated furnishings. The ocean waters were rough sometimes but with a short walk down the beach we found waters perfect fro swimming. Day trips to other places on the island were loads of fun. We enjoyed Vieques Island and the beautiful red beach. Great place!

We are so sorry that you were at Palmas during a tropical storm. Most of the time, all waters are crystal clear, calm, and swim"able". We are so lucky to be situated right near a coral reef, where even under difficult conditions, allows everyone a fun time in the water.

We go back to Palmas each year and we count the days. Sitting on the Stix's porch and looking out onto the ocean is breathtaking. Andi refurbishes the unit ever year with new surprises. When we return home, we start counting the days to return back to Palmas. It's the greatest escape from real life. Our response to the frustrations to the day is "It's not Palmas!"

Left on 03/14/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We stayed five and half weeks in this condo. The owners of this condo moved quickly to take of things to make us comfortable--- such as to provide screens for all the windows in this large 2 bedroom condo. The condo was large, nicely furnished, with a new kitchen. The balcony was large with nice furnishings--- table and chairs and 2 lounges. The Crescent Beach condos have the best location in the Palmas Del Mar community. There is a perfect beach for long walks in either direction from this condo. One feels totally safe as there is a main gate then each complex within the community has another gate. The athletic facilities are top notch--- largest tennis complex in the Caribbean. The community has a marina and even an on site riding stable--- a first for us.
This is the 10th place we have rented in the Caribbean. I looked all around the east side of Puerto Rico as I wanted to be near El Yunque. The deciding factor was the view from the balcony--- a postcard view --- lots of palms, the ocean and the beach. I'm sure anyone would enjoy their stay here.

We just returned from a marvelously relaxing month-long beach vacation at the Crescent Beach unit in Palmas del Mar owned by andi and John Stix. This inviting, attractively furnished, well-maintained unit was perfect -a great layout, well-equipped kitchen, new appliances (stove, frig, dishwasher, disposal, washer, dryer,) large flat screen TVs in each bedroom and the living room, and ceiling fans in every room and on the balcony as well. The views of the ocean and grounds from the living room, master bedroom, and wrap around balcony were stunning and spectacular. In addition, the owners were attentive and very helpful. They sent us directions to the unit from the airport as well as a list of restaurants and places to market well before our trip. We could go on and on but it isn’t necessary as the other reviews of this unit are truly accurate. Would we return? Absolutely!

We felt well taken care of from reserving the condo to concluding our stay. We appreciated the complete instructions provided including where to buy food, restaurant recommendations, and directions to attractions. The condo was immaculate, spacious and had many decorating touches that added to its calming and relaxing appeal. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and serve our meals, and the full-size washer and dryer allowed us to pack lighter and save on baggage fees. The view was fantastic! We enjoyed the ocean view from the balcony that had comfortable, clean, and attractive patio furnishings. We are looking forward to staying here again in the future.

Not only was this place fabulous, Andi thought of all those extra little details to make it feel like home. Just loved the oversized TV and the extra large seating area in the living room. You can see the ocean from both the master bedroom as well as the living room. Palmas has everything to offer and we participated in all the sports here - from the gym to tennis, golf, basketball, boating, and bike riding. And, it was only 25 minutes from many of the major sites! Thank you, Andi and John for making a wonderful holiday for us. We wanted to keep this a hidden secret, but found that we couldn't keep quiet!

Left on 09/22/2011 for a stay in September 2010
I came here last Sept with one of my good friends to get away from the hustle & bustle of NYC. It was the best decision i had made all year! To get to Las Palmas is extremely easy from the airport, only about a 45 minute ride away. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated, clean, and has all the amenities you could want. Most importantly, you are on the beach! Each morning I would get up, sit on the big porch with my breakfast and look out onto the pristine, quite, beautiful beach!
If you like more than just a beach vacation- this is also the place for you! Las Palmas is very close to the rainforest where you can do some great hikes, visit waterfalls & get beautiful views of PR. I highly suggest the excursion! You are also very close to San Juan if you would like to do a day excursion as well.
Overall, this was a fantastic and relaxing trip. I still dream of the warm ocean breezes and afternoon strolls in the sand! -

For our family summer vacation, we decided to take a trip to Palmas del Mar. It was fantastic. The apartment is quite beautiful. I've stayed at other home owner rentals and this is by far, the prettiest I've ever seen. The owner thought of everything to make one feel comfortable: great beds, cushions for the beach, and even a waffle maker! Every day, we walked for miles along the shore collecting shells. Crescent Beach is the nicest and the calmest. Excellent for snorkeling. I particularly liked how the owner sent us a to-do list, so that we were properly prepared and knew what to book, from snorkeling to deep sea fishing. The Palmanova Plaza was close by for last minute needed items and a grocery store. The food was delicious- we particularly loved Latinos and Blue Hawaii. But, most of all, we loved the living room and the porch. This is one of the few apartments that had pull-down screens and ceiling fans. So, I loved sitting outside, but in the shade. It made all the difference in the world. I would highly recommend this rental.

After reading the description, I was quite pleased when I walked into the unit. It was light and airy. The place was well equipped and in lovely condition. The Master Bedroom mattress was extremely comfortable and we all slept well listening to the soft sound of the ocean, which swayed us to sleep. Loved to porch, which had lounge chairs and a large eating area. The view was indescribable. Just gorgeous. Liked this areas much more than the Marbella Club. We were saddened when we had to leave.

Hanging out each evening on the wrap-around porch watching the ocean move in and out was so intoxicating. Their unit had a spectacular view which we enjoyed immensely on their cushioned lounges. It was clean as a whistle, and there wasn't a trace of mold or mildew, which is very unusual for a beach front apartment. The area itself was such fun. We hung out at the Tiki Bar, took day trips from the Marina, and enjoyed the casino at night. The unit itself was excellent and was over equipped for a rental. I'd come back here in a flash.

We were shocked when we walked in the door. It certainly didn't feel like a rental apartment. The place is totally updated with a brand new kitchen and new appliances. I loved their balcony with the ceiling lights and fans, which we constantly used. If you love the outdoors, then this is the best wrap around balcony in all of Palmas. Cushioned seating and lounge chairs made living outdoors so comfortable. There were fans in every room and also on the balcony (not usually found here in Palmas). After we came home at night after dinner, we had great fun in their living room playing games from their entertainment center. The owners thought of everything and we were so comfortable. My wife couldn't believe that this was a rental- that's how nice it was. Our kids loved the large screen TV and the open layout of the place made living here so easy.

I was pleased to see how well supervised the area was, as it is a gated community. This place is great for a family. We found the beach club with its water park, play grounds, and a large open area at Palmanova Plaza where the kids can safely run around while we ate. We stayed here in the complex but also opted to explore the island a bit with its bioluminescent cove and rain forest. Great Vacation!!!

Left on 06/29/2011 for a stay in January 2011
We originally had a reservation for the hotel and my friend recommended this site. So lucky/happy we took the advice! I couldn't believe how stunning this apartment was. I've been out to the Hamptons and this unit had the same feeling: light and airy. I loved the beach furniture as opposed to the dark furniture that I have at home. The Hamptons is filled with Shabby Chic, light colors, and a breath of fresh air. This unit was right on par. Also, what is not mentioned is how calm and deep this section of the beach is compared to the Marbella Club. I also liked the proximity of Crescent Beach to other restaurants and the casino. It's a prime location. I've stayed at both locations, and this is far superior.
