  We've stayed in the same unit on two separate trips (Dec 2010 and Dec 2012) and would stay a third time. The unit's biggest deficiencies are pretty minor: although there is a cable modem and a single cat 5e cable for internet access, there is no wireless access. My wife thought the unit could have been a little bit cleaner and there were a few minor things that needed repair (chains to control fan speed were broken, remote to adjust downstairs a/c was inoperative). If this were a $200/night condo, we might not have even worried about it, but for $2500/wk, these little things should have been addressed.
  
  Those little things not withstanding, we like everything Palmas and this condo have to offer. On both weeklong trips, we used the condo as home base for island wide travels. It's less than an hour to the rain forest, about 1.5 hrs to Ponce, 1.75 hrs to the Camauy Caves, and an hour from SJU airport. On the first trip, my son and I boarded a dive boat at the Palmas marina for a 2 tank boat dive; unfortuantely during the 2nd trip we had to drive to Fajardo to board the same boat as they hadn't yet moved the boat to Palmas. My daughter, wife and mother enjoyed a day on the beach while my son were diving. We're not big beach goers so we can't compare the Palmas beach to other Caribbean locals, but the girls had a good time.
  
  We visited several of Palmas' various restaurants with mixed results. Although not inexpensive, most of them are worth the money. We also enjoyed the comfort and safety the resort offers and it's common to see women jogging/walking alone throughout the day. Additionally, the staff is extremely helpful and sincerely wants you to enjoy your visit. I was quite impressed at the offers to provide airport transportation and to to stock the refrigerator prior to our arrival. If the tflight arrival times had worked out, I would have utilized the renatl car vendor the resort recommended as they were much cheaper than avis.
