Chicago, IllinoisTotally relaxing and lovely place
Left on 04/24/2013 for a stay in April 2013
My son from Penn State and I were looking for a quiet place to hang out after my husband died. This place was perfect. It is nestled in woods with a creek running by. The owner lives next door and is helpful and available if you need her, but leaves you completely alone unless you call. The kitchen is quite well equipped. The place can hold quite a few more folks and in warm weather, there are lots of places to hangout -- the living room, the downstairs game room, the closed in porch, the outdoor porch and the front porch. The cabin is near a lovely state park with fishing, boating and hiking options. Pam, the owner, even loaned us a fishing pole.

Last weekend 6 of us stayed at Wildwood Chalet. We had the best time. The house was awesome, loved the rustic decor, so clean and well equipped. The location is perfect. We like to hike and mountain bike so we enjoyed the allegrippis Trails which were only 5 minutes from the house then in the evening we only had to drive 10 minutes into Huntingdon for a nice dinner at Mimi's.
The owner was very nice and accommodating. She gave us a tour of her other two rentals, Wildwood Cottage and Lodge, wonderful places. We're hoping to gather a larger group and rent a couple of the houses since they are within walking distance of each other.
Would highly recommend Wildwood Chalet, the Cottage and Lodge look awesome as well ! Can't wait to come backResponse from Pamela R Wild - 05/21/2013

South Riding, VirginiaWonderful weekend in the woods
Left on 10/02/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We arrived and the house was open with the heat and lights going. Pam the owner came down a few minutes later and filled us in on all the details. Outside the creek was babbling and we immediately started the fire pit to enjoy the atmosphere. We had 7 in our party and we were very comfortable. I believe there was also a pull out sofa downstairs. The house is completely private in the woods with a creek flowing past the front of the house. The house is decorated nicely and the kitchen is stocked well. We had starting supply of toilet paper, spices and coffee filters. Linens were supplied all we needed to bring was our bath towels. We had a great dinner at Mimi's just 15 minutes away in Huntingdon and a great day on Raystowne Lake which was 5 minutes away. We also visited Del Grosso amusement Park on Saturday which was great fun.

This is our third time staying at the chalet and can't wait to we go back. It is so relaxing and picturesque. My husband and I had a romantic weekend. We highly recommend it for couples and families. The kitchen is so equipped with cookware and dishes we could cook all our meals. It is a pretty place to walk outside and be with nature.

My boyfriend and I wanted to write and express our sincere enjoyment of your Wildwood Chalet. It is rare that something really exceeds your expectations and I can honestly say that the chalet did just that. The decorations, cleanliness, accommodations and the quality of the chalet are stellar. The setting is rustic, romantic, relaxing, and scenic. There are numerous activities nearby, but we were content on staying inside by the fire enjoying the winter view. We are hopeful that we can visit again and most definitely will make reservations with your establishment.

We spent a wonderful winter weekend at the Chalet and wanted for nothing. This cozy retreat is both comfortable and fully equipped with every thing a person could want in a 'home away from home'. We had coffee by the fireplace, watched a movie in the sunroom, and took a pleasant walk in the woods. Bottom line: The Wildwood Chalet delivers!

Spent a week in the chalet and there was nothing we wanted for, Went hiking, wading in the lake, canoeing, car museum and so much more. Just waling through the nearby town was wonderful, many old buildings to see. The stay at the chalet was beautiful, the fall foliage, so many walks were taken, and hundreds of beautiful fall foliage pictures. Lots of fun and some of the best vacation memories every made with friends, were made here at this beautiful serene chalet.

MarylandBeyond our expectations
Left on 01/26/2011 for a stay in June 2010
This was our 3rd visit to Wildwood Chalet, it far exceeded our expectations. The house is lovely, very cozy, rustic decor, immaculately clean and well stocked. Everything we could have possibly needed was provided. We loved the proximity to the lake, the peaceful setting and it was close to town for groceries and anything else we needed. We can't wait to come back for our 4th visit. Highly recommend this property. We have also stayed at Wildwood Cottage and it is equally wonderful. We hope to bring a larger group next time and rent both houses since they are within walking distance of each other.
