Town of Huntington
Nestled on the waterfront of Long Island ’s North Shore , Huntington is a community with rich history, scenic beauty and an outstanding quality of life. Once belonging to the Matinecock Indians, Huntington was purchased by a group of English settlers on April 2, 1653 .
Today, the Township of Huntington , with its beautiful beaches and waterways, intimate villages and thriving business community, is home to over 200,000 people. With its vast array of shopping, restaurants, galleries, museums and entertainment, Huntington has it all within 98 square miles.
Huntington enjoys five harbors bordering the north shore of the Town: Cold Spring Harbor, Lloyd Harbor, Huntington, Centerport, and Northport harbors. With its coves and bays there are a total of nine beaches maintained by the Town. The Town has also put into operation three marinas for the use of residents. These facilities, along with boat ramps and municipal golf courses and park sites, provide active recreation for Town residents.
There are four incorporated Villages in the Town: Northport, Asharoken, Lloyd Harbor, and Huntington Bay. In addition there are several prominent unincorporated areas in the Town including Cold Spring Harbor, Elwood, Huntington, Huntington Station, South Huntington, Melville, East Northport, Halesite, Dix Hills, Centerport, Greenlawn, and Fort Salonga.
There are eight public school districts in Huntington, five of which are entirely within the Town. The other three serve portions of the Towns of Smithtown, Babylon, and Oyster Bay in addition to parts of Huntington.
The Town is within easy commuting distance of New York City. The Long Island Rail Road, which has frequent schedules of trains, accommodates its commuters daily to New York City from the four stations in the Town.
A wonderfull place to live, work, and visit!

Finding this apartment for our guests for a week was easy and rewarding. The owners were lovely and accomadating when we had to change the dates with little notice. our guests were happy with their experience. They felt at home and welcomed. As they are thinking about moving to Huntington it offered a welcoming space from which to search out the area. Highly recommended! Thanks!

Columbia, SCGreat apartment; Great Hosts
Left on 03/24/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We were in Huntington for our niece's wedding. The Spring Road apartment was perfect for us; nearby family, close to the beautiful downtown of Huntington with its myriad restaurants and specialty shops. The apartment was exactly as advertised: fully equipped, comfortable, and quiet. (We just couldn't find the toaster.) We've stayed in many rental apartments in our travels--this was one of the best. But what makes it even better are the hosts: Dany and Bob. Dany was a phone call away, when they weren't at home (at the other side of the connecting door to their home). They came over to greet us and invited us in for dinner (we'd already eaten) and wine (we enjoyed that). We spent a couple of hours talking and enjoying their company. They like all knids of music, traveling, and sports. The time flew by. Though it's unlikely we'll have a need to return, if we do, we'll certainly want to stay here. The steps up to the bedroom are steep, so the apartment would not be good for folks with disabilities or who have trouble with stairs (they're up front about that); but otherwise, we highly recommend the Spring Road apartment!!!

I highly recommend this rental. I came to New York due to a family illness and needed a place to stay for an extended period that was close, affordable, safe and clean. This apartment met all those criteria and more. The bed was very comfortable, the linens and towels were pristine, and the location was convenient. Less than five minutes away and you are in the lovely town of Huntington and nearby there are numerous parks, beaches and other small towns worth exploring. You'll have aC, a kitchen equipped with all the necessities, (including a Keurig coffee brewer!) and TV/VCR. Added to all that, the owner and her husband are friendly and helpful people. Like I said, it felt like a home away from home and I definitely will be back in the future.

Spent several days in this cozy apartment and found it to be very clean, very private and walking distance to downtown Huntington and a lovely park. Hosts were gracious and available if needed, but otherwise had my own space.

With visits to eastern Long Island, NYC, and NJ on our agenda, we found this lovely apartment to be very centrally located. The neighborhood was quiet, and the apartment was bright & cozy, with all the amenities we needed. Being able to bring our dogs made this place even more of a "hidden gem"! When we arrived to find gourmet coffee and fresh flowers. Bob and Dani were very accomodating hosts - We would definitely come back again. Btw, Happy Birthday Dany!

Hello Nancy and Andy!
Such a pleasure to meet you two and your two sweet pups.
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting you and appreciate your kind words. Thank you for leaving the apartment in such pristine condition...it looked as if no one even stayed!
Upon your suggestion, we went ahead and invested in a queen size bed...so when you return to the Spring Road Guest Suite, you will be even more comfortable. Thank you for the valuable input and we look forward to hosting you in the future.
Warmest regards,
Dany and Bob Smith -

My two friends & I were in NYC from South Carolina. We just loved this apt. It was super clean, nicely appointed. Great location. The hosts invited us to sing karoeke (sp?). That was a highlight of the trip!

My husband and I stayed at this apartment for one night. The house is located on a pretty street with lots of shaded trees. We liked how the apartment feels separate from the main house. It is very comfortable, welcoming and clean. The upstairs bedroom feels spacious and bright with high ceilings and skylights. We will definitely come back to enjoy the space.

I've been coming here for a couple of years now and must say, this apartment feels like a cottage in the country. It has a private entrance. Is minutes from Huntington Village and Heckscher Park. My favorite amenity is it's 20 minutes from Robert Moses State Park/Fire Island Lighthouse. You can have food delivered or can cook a feast fit for a King. I enjoy the free cable to wind down at the end of a full day to catch up on any "important" shows or just sitting on the porch reading a good book with my favorite libation. If the mood strikes me, I can borrow some sporting equipment and go kayaking, biking or hiking. The apartment is lovely, comfy and feels like a home away from home.
Love the fact that it's a non smoking home so I don't get any stale left over putrid stink from cigarettes as soon as I check in.
The hosts are warm and inviting and willing to do what they can to make your stay pleasant and memorable.
If you're lucky, you'll get to sing karaoke after dinner with them and laugh the calories off.
Can't wait to go back.Response from Dany Smith - 12/29/2011
