Sleepy Hollow was the perfect place. Cold and snowy outside but warm, spotlessly clean, spacious and generously equipped inside, it was often difficult to leave. Lots to do and places to see in the area with snug cosy pubs offering good eating in the nearby towns and villages. This is probably the best holiday home we have ever stayed in and is a credit to the owner and Sykes Cottages.

Excellent service from Sykes Cottages. A house that was designed by someone who knew how to do it. Everything one could want in a holiday rental and the price was right. We have stayed in lots of great lets over the years, but this one was the best ever. The clever key pickup, the great basket of food and wine that we found on arrival, the luxurious kitchen diner, comfortable lounge and four bedrooms with three bathrooms, garage and additional parking complete with jet wash for our dirty car. The title says it all.
Grab it while you can - you won't regret it.

Sleepy Hollow is well worth the stay. A welcome pack on arrival with homemade bread, local eggs and butter, milk a couple of bottles of wine and cookies (which didn't last long) were very much appreciate. Everything you need is there, from linen to toiletries, along with those little things, salt & pepper. Nothing was missing.
Located in the village of Husthwaite it is a great location for getting out and about and seeing the sites of Yorkshire (Dales, Moors & Coast). Beautiful local walks too.
The village has a wonderful pub (The Orchard) and alison is a great host and a fabulous cook, we ate there on 3 or 4 occasions and if we weren't eating we were in there having a drink and a great laugh. Its such a pity more of the locals of Husthwaite don't take advantage of this wonderful establishment.

Clean, warm, extra lovely welcome pack including home made bread and 2 bouteille de vin. Pub up the road was a surprise only wish we went in earlier, fantastic beer and free left over Sunday roasties, yorkie puds in t'evening. Only very small downside and that is only because I'm a big lad (not fat you understand) was a double bed, king size in the master bedroom would be good.

We stayed at Sleepy Hollow for a Ladies' Weekend in November and it was ideal! The rooms were spacious, kitchen incredibly well equipped, beds comfy and lounge large enough to house 8 adults with ease.
I will definitely book again. It is one of the best cottages I have ever rented (and I am very picky!!)

This house is wonderful, everything in it that you could possibly need, the area is good for walking with the local pub serving good food and real ale to stop off at after a long walk, made us feel very welcome. If you are needing a large house in a rural area this is it, its as good as it looks on the picture infact better.

The house was lovely and clean, facilites were excellent.
Great village pub serving excellent food and warm welcome was given.
The owners of the house even posted onto us some accessories that we had left by mistake, honesty was much appreciated as most places would have kept them.
The only downside was had to travel a few miles to get onto a decent main road, but whilst travelling along the back roads came across lovely little villages with lovely pubs serving good home cooked food.

A beautiful house in a picture postcard location. There was a heavy snowfall on the day we arrived, and the owners had put up a Christmas tree so we felt very festive! The convenience store is 30 seconds away and the nearest pub is a 3 minute walk. Will definitely be returning for BBQ in the summer

We had a family week away, 5 adults, and we were extremely impressed with the whole house and its amenities; large kitchen, good sized bedrooms and 3 bathrooms
Ideally situated for exploring Yorkshire, from York to Scarborough to the countryside, whatever your preferences are!
Local Pub has a superb resturant, with good beer and good choices.
Would recommend that you purchase your supplies elsewhere and bring them in as local choice is limited.
It was a home from home with the added extras, we could not fault it and was probably the best we have stayed in over many years of renting properties across the UK.

What a wonderful home to holiday in. We had lovely weather and it was an ideal base for exploring the beautiful countryside and relaxing in the garden during the evening. The local church is beautiful.
The welcome basket was a lovely surprise and very tasty. The whole house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

This house was perfect. The owners have catered for every need. The furnishings and fittings are of high quality- I was green with envy, I would have loved to take the kitchen home!We enjoyed the food at the local pub and the lovely scenery in the vicinity. We would definitely recommend this property.
